  1. I am told, upon joining, that I don't have the alpha slot, and that if I don't it will cause a nerf for everyone.
Actually, it only nerfs you. You would be fighting as if level 45. Effectively, though, this makes you a drag on the entire team.

In fact, when this has happened, the Level 50 in question had just gained the alpha slot, and I had not yet gathered enough shards and/or salvage bits to fill the alpha slot.
Right. Having the slot is not enough; it has to be slotted.

So, here's the thing: if you have to do TFs to /get/ shards (and yes, I know that some of the high-level missions such as AV mishes will give shards), how are you supposed to get those shards when people ask you to leave their TF because you haven't got shards.
There's no Catch-22 at all. Only the Tin Man and Apex task forces have this restriction. You can get Incarnate Components from Lady Grey, Recluse, Statesman, Kahn, Barracuda, Cathedral of Pain and Imperious. Furthermore, you can get shards from defeating *ANY* enemy level 50 or higher - whether you are on a task force or not.

This all seems rather rude to me. I also question whether the Devs would put in place a system which would apply a nerf to a toon or to the team they are on,
    Well, they did.

It's a new game system specifically implemented in these two task forces.
  3. I wouldn't call it a feature. It's simply a result of the keyboard design, specifically how the keys are wired. Some keyboards do it, some don't. I had a Microsoft keyboard for years. When it wore out, I replaced it with a virtually identical model (from Microsoft) and it had this problem. I'm currently using a Logitech keyboard.

Anyway, this discussion seems irrelevant. Mender Ramiel's arc *IS* soloable. You said, "But, honestly, making content available for the solo-player, even if it is harder to do, is not a bad thing." Okay, if 'getting a shivan shard' falls under "harder to do", then you're covered. Having a shivan along makes just about anything soloable. (Excluding TF's and mass raids, which you already agreed to exclude.)

I guess we should ignore this obvious example of a flipper causing the price of salvage to increase - or find some reason to discredit it as not really happening.

Cause we all know based on half concocted experiments and extensive BS propaganda done here on the market forums... that flippers could never possibly drive up the prices on items based on their actions. Right ?

    ROFL
I agree on the ROFL part. What was that about extensive BS? Wait, wait... let me write this reply like you:
[sarcasm on]Thank heavens that your telepathic powers let you know that it's a flipper doing this.[sarcasm off]
Of course, someone pointed out another possibility but that doesn't fit the agenda for your petty tirades so you ignored it.

Currently, PvP IO's are not dropping. Therefore, the prices will go nowhere but up. Assuming the drops are fixed, it will likely take a LONG time to see any price reductions.

This is based on two conditions:
    1) The drop rate is not changed.
    2) Farming still continues to occur.
If either of these changes, all bets are off.

Yes, apparently they are supposed to. Currently, NOTHING drops in PvP (except rep).
  8. The game doesn't even use 2 GB of RAM. It simply doesn't need that much.

Really? I get that you "know" nothing of the sort and are just taking a petty dig.

Seriously, any time I see someone saying that the devs don't care about something game-related, that's prima facie evidence that the poster has no freaking clue. This is a BUSINESS. If enough customers aren't happy, they go out of business. The overwhelming majority of businesses do actually care, because their goal is to make money. *YOU* might feel they don't care, because you PERSONALLY got screwed over by one of their decisions. That's unfortunate, but it happens.

If you're building for defense you must have some $$$. Get a Performance Shifter - Chance for +END and put it in a 4th slot in Stamina. It's similar in effect to what a 4th slot would give without ED. Also, if you get hit by a debuff that trashes your recovery, it still works since it's not giving you recovery - it's a direct application of END points.

That will help with just one slot. After that, if you have places to slot them, start building for recovery bonuses.

He was at 292% regen. I respec'ed him last night to get Inherent Fitness and added Physical Perfection, putting regen at 319%. I also added Weave (previously only had Tough) but have not yet played him with Weave.

Suggestion to work around the issue (which I didn't think of - I only did it because I read it on the forums):
Have your badge window open and displaying the correct badge counter and watch to see it 'tick' one step of progress as you swim along. That way you'll know you got credit for that particular bridge.

Wrong, right in the first line of the post. There are plenty of way to cluster enemies. You can do it with a toggle debuff, dropping a pet where you want them, physically moving them with something like Wormhole or Hurricane, etc.

Secondly, for the most part, if you're taking time to rearrange the enemies, you're WASTING time. Trashing them where they stand is the fastest method.

If your ping rate is bad, that's a problem with your connection. My connection stinks - some of the time. I'll have a ping rate around 60, then it will go to somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 for a few minutes. This has nothing to do with CoH as I have checked it on www.dslreports.com while CoH is not even running.

I would suggest checking your ping and UL/DL rates while CoH is not running.
  20. Unless I'm mistaken, you can not earn shards until you have done Mender Ramiel's arc and unlocked the Alpha Slot. So get that done before Saturday. If anyone needs help with it (some players/AT's find it difficult), let me know. I still have 4 tanks who need to unlock it.

Anyway, I'll be there. Since Ironblade already has an uncommon incarnate power slotted, I'll probably bring a tank who doesn't have any alpha powers yet. If someone else brings a tank, I may bring Ironblade. More shards/components can't hurt.

It could be worse. There are much nastier-sounding powers in-game, just not available to players. On your chat line, call up the info on the following:
    [Fetid Howl]
    [Dry Heave]
    [Projectile Vomit]
