I've done both and I had a lot more fun with nin/ than bs/ becase the animations are sooooo sllooooooooowwwwww. Really frustrating. I'll never make another broadsworder on any AT.

I thought the longbow badge was disabled for heroes?

Quote:I'd like to see a little more variety in the Targetted AoE pool as well, especially since the set bonuses for two of them are pretty disappointing. You know, Devs could probably avoid this complaint by adding more Targetted AoE sets. Right now, there are only five to choose from, and that's including the purple and the PvP ones. PBAoE has 7, and those two extra sets allow for quite a bit more flexibility in choice.

Low-level bosses are barely tougher than lieutenants though, so that could be the big thing. I believe that EBs have better resists/defenses also.
Level 5 HP
Lieut: 112
Boss: 176
EB: 293
By comparison,
Level 50 HP
Lieut 867
Boss 2,570
EB 5,354
So going down to a boss at very low level, you're barely having more of a challenge than against a lieutenant. For a damage dealer, that 50hp only ammounts to 2 or 3 extra attacks. But the big jump against an EB you will feel, even on a scrapper or brute.
So you really want to leave it as an EB. Bosses at low level are just too weak to be a good threat. I use them a lot for levelling with my defenders and tankers and other very bad-damage characters.
As Blood Beret pointed out, there are dev-created EBs in missions at that level range anyway.
But I would be careful with his powers. Dark at low level is kinda cruel. Tacking on accuracy penalties against characters with unslotted attacks? I think that's really the issue. Also, does the EB have and use dark's heal? That might be pretty brutal on the wrong PC.
Can you make him Poison without hurting the concept? That's pretty close in having a good utility set without totally flooring the hero's ability to fight back, and its heal is not as uber as dark's. -
Quote:I've owned three macs and managed a lab for my university. So far I'm not used to things working at all. One class bought 17 macbooks. Of which we had 32 returns. My favorite was the one where the monitor didn't work because the cable was severed. This is in a laptop mind you. Also had one with an inverted screen image on first boot. That was kinda cool actually. My own iMac had to be sent back 4 times (meaning I am on my fifth version).I have a mac. I am not used to things not working. In fact, it is pretty rare thing indeed as most things work properly on the mac. Since NCSOFT claimed and sold a mac edition, one would deduce it would work.
Get Word for Mac. That pile of C#$% crashes at least daily. Best part? Auto "save" doesn't.
Try to use Preview for half the things it is supposed to do with PDF.
That said, CoH for Mac works more reliably for me than the PC version I used to use did. And remember NC Soft didn't do the port to Mac they outsourced it to a vendor. -
Toxic's wander around Warburg also, they're not just inside missions. I've gotten a few on the streets. There are many more in Recluse's Victory though.

Quote:Actually you have that backwards. The respec gives the accolade. The accolade iteslf does nothing at all. You get the respec as a mission complete bonus. When you turn it in, using the respec gives a new badge. Also, you can choose merits instead of a respec and thereby never receive the accolade. The accolades from respec trials give you a RESPEC. lol
In my opinion, the Arena All-Star Badge and Force of Justice are the only other one sthat fit's into the same category as Hell and Back. They round up a set of badges as completed, and nothing more. Every other accolade badge has a reward or power of some kind. Even the new neighborhood accolades grant 5 merits upon completion.
For example, If you do your first trial upon completion you get the respec and the transmogrified badge. You don't receive the accolade Received the Stalwart Medallion until after you go to Galaxy City and turn in the respec. I just got the Stalwart after having Transmogrified for a bit over a year. -
In addition to the Tram, if you are in a group very often you can use the team leader's base which probably has teleporters to the other zones.
Pocket D has openings in a few very helpful locations, the one I use most often is Faultline, but I also hit kings row from the D. -

Alternatively, break frees last for a period of time. Take one before the fight have a second just in case. Even if you're not in domination you don't have to be vulnerable to Mez if you don't want to be.

Dun have PC environment capable of running the exe. Any other way to get at the new files?

Quote:So helping other people is nothing? I mean, I know you're a villain and all, but do you hate your fellow players that much?I actually would like to see rezzes do SOMETHING to pets. Not necessarily to resurrect them, but to do SOMETHING. Give me a reason to take them on a Mastermind, at least. It doesn't have to be a good reason. Just a little excuse. I mean, I take Confront and I keep telling myself it's useful for stopping runners, so you can see how little I need.

Quote:I want to know this too. It's a shame it's such a valuable IO, getting the right 51 you could really mess with someone who put a fake bid out as a way to stash billions of inf and hold more than the inf cap.One other thing... how in the world did you get a lvl 51 Numina IO? I thought that IO's stopped at lvl 50.
Imagine logging in to see your level 53 IO bids fulfilled. hehe. -
I actually haven't had time to play in a few days, with i17 out and Mac had a security patch since this thread, is this issue still around? Anyone know? If not I might have time tonight to test and see if i17 made it magically vanish, which would be cool.

Quote:I'm curious on two counts: 1 can you post your build? And 2 Can you explain your dislike of Dark Obliteration?[color=pink]If that is your attack pattern then you are really lacking damage in my opinion. My Fortunata is built different than yours, but still pours in the area of effect damage. I would make suggestions for you, but since you do not like Psychic Tornado that would pretty much negate anything I have to say. I also do not use Dark Obliteration because I do not like that power at all.
Thanks! -
Quote:So go down a Rikti Pylon and post your time. Generate hard numbers. Then see if any NW can beat your time. That will cause stalkers to get pissed and they'll show up to beat the NW time. Give it a week or two and we'll know.Anyway I just thought the "NWs are pumped-up Stalkers" was a generalization which is why I responded in the first place. Thematically they are in opposition: one's the team-friendly killer, the other the lone assassin. Both are damage dealers. But don't assume that a NW > stalker in the damage dept, either burst or sustained, as I don't see how it's possible. But without hard numbers it's tough to really know.

Quote:Also, corruption has a short enough recharge that it is much easier to keep the -res perm on a hard target.Take suppress pain (/facepalm).
If you like wand then you should take Corruption as your whip attack it does the same damage as lash but at range.
And to the thread:
What is the concensus on the difference between shared pain and soothe. I find that the -heal on shared pain doesn't really matter much, and it's got a much bigger heal built in. Not so terribly important on the pets, but great on teams. Is soothe really better? -
-
-
As stated, it is a more formal and slightly older/archaic wording. Quite appropriate.
-
what level of recharge do you guys slot into your caltrops? Or do you just go all procced out?

Quote:Set bonuses only apply to you, never your pets, MM pets or otherwise (fluffy, singularity, etc).Further does that accuracy bonus convert over to your pets ? I do not think it does.
Quote:I have Hover which really helps out some with the defenses. Also I have Mace Mastery Scorpion shield which is DEFENSE and not resistance
From I was told in the past when asking about specing my storm rad defender. I was told always spec for Defense.
But you are right to go for defense first. Especially when you're on a budget.
