What Adeon said.
There's a couple of really ugly brute-force way to raise money at around 1 M per hour: buy level 35-50 unloved set IO's for 100 to 500 and sell them to a vendor for (100 per level), shuttling back and forth.
You can probably raise more faster by doing an AE mission, turning 400 tickets into 50 common salvage (probably midlevel tech but you can do that research for yourself) and selling that on the market at 1 inf each. Do that a couple times and you should be pretty well set up.
I don't recommend these methods for more than "making a couple million in a hurry". (5 million -> list at 100 million; you'd need 12.5 million to list at the top end.)
I could loan you a few million. -
Quote:I tested the waters in the badge forums once on this. I lost the whole arm... let's just say nobody badgerside wants there to be an "Inf cap" badge you buy for 2 billion inf.I hear you Fulmens. In your honor, I think there should be a vendor in Pocket D whose only purpose is to dispose of inf for badges
10,000,000 -- Spendthrift -- Keep that inf coming
100,000,000 -- Profligate -- You put the "disposable" into "disposable income"
1,000,000,000 -- Big Spender -- Spend a little time with me
10,000,000,000 -- Fat Cat -- You're rolling in it and you don't care who knows it
100,000,000,000 -- Ebil -- Your ability to amass and dispose of inf is unparalleled. You are truly Ebil(tm) -
Quote:I think, at 1 million per level per recipe, people will lower ten or fifteen recipes to level 33 (or whatever); at 10 million per level per recipe, people are only going to lower the one really big recipe. I mean for 200 million you could just BUY a level 20 Miracle.I like the idea as a QoL issue, and I could see the devs implementing it just for that reason alone.
As an influence sink, I think that 1mm/lvl is way too low. I'd suggest 5-10mm per level. This way, the influence sink would hit the wealthiest who want to tweak all their miracles to 20, rather than the "casual" player who wants to tweak their lvl 48 Mako;s A/D to 50. I think you would remove more aggregate inf that way. If the arb across levels isn't there, people won't use it and worst case is we are exactly where we are today.
The best solution for sinking influence is convince all us ebil marketeers to delete it. Maybe have a category for "deleted inf" at those stat counters all over town which I haven't looked at in about 4 years.
As far as the "deleting inf" solution- I've done my best... -
Quote:I was quite sure that Whirling Sword could hit Drones that Hack missed. Upon going out in the RWZ and testing this, it turns out to be either selection bias or having a lot more targets for Invincibility (thus more +To Hit)... you're right.Open up your Combat Attributes and monitor "Last Hit Chance".
When you're fighting drones this will show you which attacks their defence works against.
Even 360 degrees melee attacks like Spin, Whilrling Hands and Whilrling Mace count as Melee rather than AoE, so melee characters can get pretty stuffed fighting these guys on their own. Use insp combining to create yellows, I guess.
Damage auras count as AoE, as does Burn, which the drones dont run away from
Another thing I always knew that turns out to be wrong. -
Agg, I can't tell if you're trying to support Ironblade's point or not. If you are, umm, it didn't work.

Ice Storm: As Minotaur said, leave the bids up .
(see my sig.) -
Fire Breath. The difference between "I have some AOE" and "I'll take the minions, you take the management."

24 hours of advance planning (for salvage) is really all it takes. Sometimes 10 minutes of advance planning is enough... most of your ugly spikes pass through the system really fast.

You'd be amazed at how many different ways people came up with to get items to the other faction. The Devs had to be pretty draconian to stop 'em. I don't want to get into the "markets should be merged" argument, but I can see it coming like a herd of lemmings.
-
hmm. Lowering 20 IO's from 50 to 33 = 17*20 = 340 million inf. Which is the equivalent, for inf-burning purposes, of buying 3.4 billion inf of stuff. And for the equivalent of GETTING the money, it's just 340 million inf.
Seems like a good amount to me.
(also it turns a level 40 miracle into a level 20 miracle for 20 million, which seems practically cheap by today's standards.) -
There was an exploit where people's pets weren't exemping down when they were in the AE. Much wealth was gained by people, apparently, as a result.

Well, I got yer name...
-
Even if it had hideous drawbacks: I want it.

I've been holding the 1:1 ratio (not counting my service charge) for a long time, but given the large amount of mastermind infamy that's entered the system I may need to tweak it .
... of course, the mastermind infamy might explain why I (and Dumpleberry) are holding so much infamy and so little influence. -
I've been known to force the mission when the leader shows every sign of going AFK. It's kind of a jerk move and I don't use it often, but I'm glad I have the option.

I have ideas about flipping back and forth between Vigilante and Rogue with a full load of stuff. I'm probably too lazy to do it, in practice.
-
I've totally done that recently. Because of the 10 million profit I can Get Nao.

Quote:I haven't seen anything about the Devs plans... cite please?
Hilariously, Castle has commented that there was something enormously broken with items going beyond the inf cap but still the Devs plan to do nothing about it. -
I sort of feel that "sell a purple, buy everything else you want" is the way to go for the people this guide is aimed at. But I'm not the people this guide is aimed at, so I could be wrong with the greatest of ease.

Shouldn't have instagibbed the whole group. Are you sure you were using Ambrosia and not Essence of the Earth?
-
Hyperstrike: I have no prob with that. (Although I'm not a Fire/rad so I have even less of a vote than I otherwise would.)

Having examined their other posts, I think they're really that confused.
