Just wanted to add 2 things.
1: You can actually get the portal as early as lvl 1, if you're in a team running the Doc Delilah arc. Okay, you'll probably level up a couple times along the way unless you just join at the very end, but you get the drift.
2: Regardless of what level you pick the power up, you still cannot use the portal that you create until you have trained to lvl 25 (and I want to stress the trained part, because simply having leveled will not trigger the portal to let you in). Others who are above lvl 25 can still use your portal with impunity.
One last bit to add to the discussion in case people reading this might not know... your portal closes the second you enter it, but any number of people can use your portal without causing it to close. If at all possible, let all of your teammates use your portal before entering it, in case no one else can open one (this is especially for TFs where time is an issue). -
8 Shield tankers, doing rolling shield charges. Nothing would be left standing, anywhere.

Exactly. It makes doing the lower level TFs a bit more enjoyable, as you now get to keep some of your higher level abilities. Having Stamina while running Posi (especially the old version) is a serious boon.

Quote:Yes, but lets not forget that the # of affected targets was reduced because the damage was percieved to be higher than intended. So, while individual damage might be higher than originally intended, there was no limit on how many targets were hit. If you do end up reducing the damage value, I would ask that you also do away with the target cap to balance it out.Good catch. I was looking at the original power, as I designed it, rather than the reworked version that was done later. For scrappers, it is scale 3.6 on the Minion_Pet table, which is a far cry from the scale 1.4 on the Minion_Pet table I originally designed for it. I vaguely remember someone (Synapse? Sunstorm? I'd have to dig into check in notes to see) asking me if they could update it to include AT Mods in the damage scales and saying yes.
Hmm...yeah, ok. I can very easily see what happened here.
Shield Charge when released was set for a scale 1.7 damage to all targets within 20' of impact, with 0.7 scale bonus within 3' of impact. When the change to allow AT scaling was made, the bonus damage was rolled into the overall damage, for a scale of 2.4 to all targets in a 20' radius. At the same time, instead of have Brutes getting a mod of 0.75 applied, they were treated as the base.
So, instead of:
Brutes 3' scale 1.8, 20' scale 1.275
Tankers 3' scale 2.04, 20' 1.445
Scrappers 3' scale 2.7, 20' scale 1.9125
We get:
Brute 20' scale 2.4
Tanker 20' scale 2.712
Scrapper 20' scale 3.6
That REALLY sucks. -
Ahh, that's the page I was looking for.
There are issues with wiki searching, I think (or they didnt name the new powers using the same naming conventions, as when I tried my search, all that came up were links to the old individual powers).
Thanks for the links, Agg -
Can someone list what the new Temp Power Recipes are? I checked the wiki, and found no information on the new powers, and they dont seem to be in the patch notes.

One thing I would like to see is adding horns as an option to monsterous heads. Or at least adding a head that resembles a cow/bull, complete with horns. I'm trying to create a good looking minataur, and the humanoid faces look completely off.

Try using your global name (the @xxx name) to send money and items to your other characters.
Edit... damn you guys are quick -

Except that Brutes arent the villain-side tank... they're the villain-side scrapper. MMs are the villain-side tank. This has been stated many times by the rednames.

See, a lot of people come here for information, but most do not go to other forums (I know I dont). It might be best to put the announcement where the most number of peple will see it. I mean, I can understand putting it up on their own forums, as it will inform those who regularly go there, but a parallel post here might be more wide reaching. Plus, its good advertising for people who might not have heard of the Titan network

Wow, thay's something I never new about not having gotten a villain past 35 (after almost 5 years, I finally hit my first 50 a couple months ago and started playing with Khleds, and I mostly play blueside). How does this 6th slot unlock, in the off chance that it actually does happen one day, and that my failing memory doesnt forget what was discussed here?

I'd like to second the requests for an Icon representative, and a market interface. Along with an easier way to stack, these would probably be the best QoL improvements to base building. Also, I wouldnt mind seeing generic NPCs like nurses or doctors to place in the med bay, maybe even engineers to take care of my TP rooms

I took it for my MA/QR scrapper simply because it fit the theme better than Air Superiority. Although, thinking back, I may just swap it out for Combat Jumping when I next respec. You can never have too much defence, and it'll be able to slot with cheaper IOs, and still be able to soft cap relatively easily.

Well, to be fair, Warshades are forced to go there to do their arcs

Wait, there's a badge for Ancester Spirits? I've been killing them ever since I picked up the ghost slaying axe years ago, but I've never seen a badge for them.
Ahh, never mind. I checked the wiki, and its a gladiator only badge thats not linked to an achievement -
One thing I would suggest is to check your server board to see if there are any badge hunting channels that you can ask for help on. I know that on Protector, there's a channel called Protector Badges (or is it just Badge) where people are able to ask for help.

Quote:Actually, the merit cost only seems exorbidant (sp?) until you start going along on organized ship raids. During raids, every rikti killed by a member of your party (even in small part) gives out a vanguard merit to each player. You can easily rack up 200-300 in a single raid, and most people will stick around for a second raid once the first one is complete. Check out your server's forums and/or global chat channels for more infoVanguard: sticking it to you since its inception. Bloody amount of merits needed for their stuff is ridiculous.
'course, I keep making characters that want the costume, too. Silly me.
As a heads up, Protector has Raid the Rikti nights every wednesday at 9pm EST (now EDT). -
Also, dont forget thatsome people want to remove expensive IOs for re-use or redistribution. Back in the days of SO enhancers, it wasnt that big a deal, as the SOs sold back at full value, and were easy to replace. Now, though, with billion inf builds, the last thing you want is to just lose them all. I can easily see people spending several respecs on a single lvl 50 to tweak their builds

Shield Defense toggles allow a customizable costume piece to be displayed/hidden. And the Vanguard shield even has a costume piece that is modified by the activation of a toggle

Quote:Yeah, but you also call each season of a tv show a series. Who can tell what you guys are talking aboot. We call it Year 7 over here in England. But I suppose that has something to do with the fact that we don't keep kids back a year.
Just kidding. I love the brits, especially their tv shows. And their (our) Queen. -
Quote:There are a couple powerset combinations that make Burn rather effective. I have a Fire/Ice tanker who has both Burn and Ice Patch. Put them together, and you have a relatively effective AoE damage attack. Which, with Ice's general lack of true PBAoE attacks (the cone is nice, but its not like /Fire) is quite a boon. Also, using the Earth Mastery APP, you can get Quicksand which will also make Burn a very effective power. Or Arctic Mastery, and throw down Ice Storm for added AoE goodness.Burn is almost useless for tankers since they added "run away from this".
Hmm... now that I think about it, I think that's exactly what I'll do for my Fire/Ice... -
Quote:Except that the costume options are done by one department, the powers and animations by a second department. The work done by one department does not impact the development by the second, unless then end up pulling people out of one to fill into the other. Which wouldnt make sense, as they require completely different skillsets.I would rather have more new powersets than this type of costume only change.
So, there wouldnt be any impact to the development of new powersets by having the costume department (SexyJay and any new minions he may have picked up) work on new and different costumes.
If anything, I'd say that it was the development of the 7 new costumes (9 if you include the special edition costumes) from Going Rogue that caused any delay to this issue being looked at.
