You can only email inf and one item to a global email account so you would want to email it to your global name.
To: @globalname
Also you have to have at least some message text.
And you can only claim the item and inf on the same faction.

Did you put your own Global Name in the "to" field?
Sometimes you get the bear; sometimes he get you, rips your head off, sucks out your eyes, pulls out your spleen, humps your leg and pees in your boots
Try using your global name (the @xxx name) to send money and items to your other characters.

So with I17 live now (at least I think its live) you are supposed to be able to mail Influence and insp/enhancements to other toons. Tried to mail some influence to another one of my own toons and it doesn't work (I press the send button and it doesn't send).
