I never post, well almost never. (and those out there that know me probably wish I'd shut up completely ) But I just finished this thread and I just feel the need to jump in and say:

Anyone that would be offended or tell you that your wrong Steelclaw is just looking for something, anything really, to be offended by.

I lurk, a lot, and hands down the very first post(s) I would go to read first would be yours. This Tournament of your is absolutely fascinating. Anyone that calls you crazy or stupid, in a serious way, for your restarts and massed lists of spreadsheets are just trolls that don't get it. Ignore them and keep being the person you are, cause the rest of us love it.

I laugh at most of the Luddites in Cap, but my favorite of their lines is: 'Does this mean I have to give up my PSP?"

Make sure to be as detailed in your petition as possible. Include when you sent the email, how much was in it, what the Subject line was, what the message said. also be clear about the mistake you made (forgetting a period/space/etc). If you already sent the petition it might be a good idea to log into the support site and update your ticket with additional info.

For me character creation usually falls into one of three categories:

1) Character becomes one of the Slipper Sisterhood. Normally when a new powerset comes out I'll make a new Slippersister with that powerset. This is my default char creation process as it really requires the least thought on my part since all the Sisters are identical save for the color of their starting outfit.

2)Dream inspiration!. This occurs when I have a dream with a char in it that I then try to recreate in the game. Most often brought about by eating a few ham sandwiches before bed.

3)Friends toss names. Slightly more common then dream inspiration, this is when friends ingame (teamed, global, global chat) toss names at me to drive me crazy. Often one will stick and I am then forced to go to the char creator and make a char to fit that name or else my head asplodes, which can really put a damper on my day.

AFAIK the "nerf" is only apllied to your char and not the team. It consists of a -4 level shift.
As for having to do TFs to get components, ANY high level TF will drop shards. ITF, STF, LGTF, Kahn, Cudda, LRSF, all will drop shards from enemy kills and each has a Compenent as a reward option at the end. Unless you were trying to do the Apex or Tin mage TF, the alpha slot is not req. and the debuff (the "nerf") does not apply.

See, I read that and have a sudden image of a group of 50s standing in Atlas Park; straining and screaming for 3 weeks in order to unlock it.

I'll preface this by saying that I do not any any way care about purples, their dropping or not, and/or farming for purples. I post this solely so that you all can laugh at my misfortune and the extreme hate the RNG has for me.

That said: I had one purple drop 3 days after they were introduced into the game.

Memory is fuzzy so I might be wrong, but: Wasn't there another tech reason for not allowing SD it be paired with Katana/DB? Something about the connection points, or nodes, or whatever only able to handle 1 thing? A sword AND the shield would need 2 points.

Again, fuzzy memory is fuzzy.

Once you complete the Arc to unlock the Alpha Slot, Raimiel (or whatever his name is) has a list of talk options that explains The Alpha Slot.
But then I guess that would require people to, ya know, read in-game text.

Starting to wonder if I just have the worst luck ever. I've had One Purple drop the second,or third, week after they were added into the game.

Not a single one since.

Besides, it's not really Thanksgiving any more.

Its become Pre-Christmas.

(I swear, I even saw a neighbor with Christmas decorations in their yard last week.)

I didn't even know about this game until i saw a review of it on TV. The name stuck with me so one day while in some electronics store I see a box for the Collectors Edition.
I said to myself: Self, why don't you try it? So I picked it up and took it home.


Then went back to the electronics to buy a DVD Drive (the reason I was originally there to begin with).


Installed the drive, then the game, started it up and promptly lost power for 3 days due to a nasty storm and the general ineptitude of the local power company.

Once I'd managed to actually PLAY the game for 5 minutes I knew I was hooked. been here ever since.

Re-reading the OP, a painful undertaking in itself, I believe He? is suggesting to the Devs that they give an option to allow players to purchase a 4 year block of play time. Doing so will give the player several bonuses:

1) A Free guide to the game.
2) The ability to increase the drop rate for rare recipes, possibably from bosses.

Also he? seems to be asking for 2x and 4x XP, and 3x Inf drops. Also 3x XP weekends once a month. It appears that he believes that we here on the forums would fully support these ideas and suggests to the Devs that they poll us on the matter.

Just what I get out of reading that....post. Now to go take some aspirin and go lay down, the OP has given me a headache.

EDIT: Actually the last part seems to be him? asking us to tell the Devs what a great idea this is, and that it would be the best thing to ever happen to CoH. Now back to lie down and wait for the aspirin to kick in....

I got the same response while trying to purchase the Going Rogue Complete Collection (Digital Version) for my second account. "We're sorry, but we cannot accept your order at this time." Tried 3 times over 2 days with no luck.

Finally just went to Walmart and picked up a GR Box. Judging from what others here have posted its a good thing too. The Extra game time added to the account will hopefully give support time to figure out whats wrong before that account comes back up for renewal.

And here I thought that was intended. I to tried to get out the door I came in only to find that I couldn't. Then I remembered a NPC shouting "You'll never get off this island"(or something to that effect). AS I was just level 9 at the time I just went and thumbed my nose at one of the groups of purple level 14s. One hospital trip later I was out.

Ok, then all I can suggest is asking this up in the Tech forum, thats where your more likely to get the help you need.

Have you tried going to your CoH install folder and clicking on the cohupdater.exe directly? If that does work then just creat a shortcut to it. If it doesn't...then I got nothing.
