Teleport, Assemble the Team and Team Teleport

So, before I invest in some powers and find out the hard way that things don't work the way I think they should or would I wanted to ask.

Teleport is a activate and target power. You teleport to said target where you can then repeat the process.

Assemble the Team is like Summon Friend, but for the whole team at once.

What is Team Teleport like?

It's like Teleport, except take your nearby Allies(within 30 feet)with you; and it's range is 25 feet.

Ah, thank you. As the wiki says and as it has always been.

Actually that's a bug with the real numbers thing, it actually has the same range as regular teleport.

An additional issue with team teleport as a travel power is that it's prone to 'drop' teammates. The time it takes for someone to appear at porting destination depends on latency and how long it takes individual systems to render the new surroundings. Those that load slower than the team-teleporter can be left behind after a few bamfs.

It does have some unusual utility depending on your playstyle.

Especially for Masterminds.

Actually, Team Teleport has a 225ft range (Teleport is 300ft); close, but not exactly the same range.

This. Nothing like a whole group of ninjas or killer robots suddenly appearing in the middle of a spawn and flipping out.

Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM

I'd like team teleport to be changed to something useful, maybe something that would allow you to tp a teamate to you, even across zones, ala mission teleporter

I use Team Teleport to great effectiveness with Fallout. Unlike Recall friend there is no interruptible period and the casting time is much lower. Run to body, teleport to target, Nuclear Fallout.

It was changed to something useful when the game was released.

Just in case you don't understand me: I'm saying that Team Teleport IS useful.

The Fire/Rad superteam used it to teleport from spawn to spawn, so I hear. The entire enemy spawn would melt in seconds, they'd have one guy "leading" the team, aka clicking to teleport the team to the next spawn, etc etc.

There. It's now something useful. You'll notice it's the exact same.

We used it a bit with Traps, too. For several of the traps (Acid Mortar and Trip Mine were my favorites, as I recall), you could start laying it as soon as you saw the teleporter being the animation, and the trap would be laid at the new location when the teleport finished. It saves a lot of time when 7 Trip Mines activate in the middle of the spawn as soon as you arrive

Teleport itself is not widely liked, but it becomes much easier and more fun if (a) you use a good bind, and (b) it is teamed with Hover. The classic bind is:
/bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Teleport

And it has some nice advantages -- you can teleport when Immobilized. You can teleport out of slow patches. You can teleport past blocked hallways. You can teleport past Rikti Drones and other foes with +Perception (a favorite trick for my Ill/Rad to Stealth missions). And for long trips in wide open spaces (like the Shadow Shard or long stretches in IP or trips to the northern islands in Talos), it is by far the fastest travel power with the advantage of Recall Friend as a pre-requisite.

You mean like Recall Friend does?

I don't use TP on many 'toons, but I really do like it.

I prefer just to put the power icon in my first spot. That way I simply hit '1' and click where I'm going. No binds to get messed up and have to reload. I've never even bothered with hover - it's easy enough to pick your next spot during the few seconds you're hanging in midair like Wile E. Coyote. Sure, it's a bit harder in places like Steel Canyon or (gasp) Dark Astoria but that's part of the fun.

Of course, slotting in some End Reduction is a very good idea. I also lucked into the +stealth proc and that is particularly handy when you TP blind into a spot that's full of baddies. I highly recommend it.

Would love to see Assemble Team added to this pool with a shorter timer than the vet power.

Rikti Drones do not have increased perception. They ignore stealth.

As an Illusion Controller, you've also got access to the best stealth power in the game (Superior Invisibility). Rikti Drones and Rularuu Sentries will still see you, of course, because they ignore stealth.

I really do not see a lot of point to doing so. The only advantage it would have over Recall Friend is saving a little bit of time at the cost of flexibility (you can't port only one person) and requiring more power choices (since it would presumably replace Team TP).

I must misunderstand the Stealth mechanic then -- I thought it reduced your own 'viewable' range, not directly affected enemies. Can anyone clarify?

Basically, if you have (for the sake of example) 25 ft of stealth, any enemy trying to see you has to be 25 ft closer to you. So if its perception is normally 45ft, you'd have to come within the remaining 20ft to be seen.
Drones ignore stealth, meaning they see EVERYTHING within their perception (assuming no walls, etc.). Superior invisibility takes your stealth WAY past the various caps, and they still see you at 45ft. Which makes the +stealth proc a bit less handy when you TP somewhere, only to find there was a drone about 43ft away from where you appeared, but around a corner or behind something.

What Billy said, basically.

NPCs will aggro on you with 'proximity aggro' when the distance between you and them is [Their perception] - [Your stealth], or closer. Minions such as Rikti Drones have a perception of 45ft, so a drone will never see you until you're 45ft away. (Some enemies do have increased perception, such as Vanguard Sword. Base perception is also a factor of enemy rank; minions have 45ft perception, bosses have 54ft, and snipers have 149ft, for example.)

Stalkers, with the highest stealth cap in the game (300ft), will still get spotted by [Improved/Advanced] Drones and Watchers at 45ft, Observers at 50ft, and Overseers at 54ft. No more, no less. A Blaster with a -180ft stealth radius will also be seen by the Drones and Sentries at the same range. They don't have increased perception - that would make them aggro before your client even rendered them. They simply ignore your stealth radius when the game calculates whether they can see you or not.

Unfortunately, a critter that aggros on you can make their entire spawn aggro on you, which sucks when trying to stealth a Rikti or Rularuu mission.
