Yeah, I had the problem in another game and compared to CoH, updated my video drivers and the problem persisted even after being idle for several hours while I slept it off.
It was more prevalent in DirectX. I've updated drivers and rebooted, i'm going to pretend it's dust and if I can see it again, i'm going to see if I can screenshot the problem. -
Hello,
I'm experiencing problems that may or not be client/game related. As an example, I was in Peregrine and along the street looking at some buildings and their entrances. The stairs leading up to the front door were fine, the railings/sides however had some multicolored texture in stead of the grey/brown brick I'm used to seeing.
This didn't occur anywhere else in zone and my client froze/crashed shortly thereafter. Looked fine on relog.
Looks to me like a corrupted texture cache with my video card, i'm seeing this problem in other 3d games atm. Thoughts? -
I admit I might be opening myself up for attack. But having just played through many levels of Gravity/Time, i'm having a hard time seeing what the problem with Gravity is.
I'm not a fan of Propel for it's style and Dimension Shift is highly conditional, but I don't get some of the Anti-Grav animosity I've seen recently.
Any care to share their thoughts? -
Something else I was noticing was that you're using the Alpha recharge. You might consider Cardiac, it'll improve your damage resist and your overall endurance consumption which might be a problem in extended fights (read: AV's)
But I'm not as thoroughly read up on Recharge builds vs Defense. -
-
Phalanx Fighting is Auto and doesn't cost you for it's base-level defense bonus. Swap that for Grant Cover which sees a lot of value in the late-game and you'll have an easier time on your end and higher defenses to make up for it while at or near 28.
-
No reason I'm not sitting in IO's. Frankly, I just don't know which direction I should lean. Resistance? Recharge? S/L defense?
I'm fairly understanding of scrapper builds and their objectives. I wouldn't say I could build to achieve those objectives but I get the ideas.
I'm going to try some slotting, see how it turns. See if I can bring my regen up for a reasonable price. If nothing else some basic IO's will net me competent power effects.
If you don't mind, Daemon, pm me.. let me know what you wouldn't take and what you'd take for it. I'm curious what other people lean into for their human builds. Kheldian is one of those AT's that it isn't about your powerset but about which powers you pick up.
I can see where you might not take Glowing Touch, it's a support power, a Sit Back and Wait power. I'm tempted not to take it either as I'm more of a do'er and less interested in support. But I also understand where it could be handy to pack a little something for the team in those tight spots. -
So I'm working out a build for a PB, I have a pretty basic slotting figured out for some general play and leveling up. Most of my power choices are aligned with teaming in mind. Solar Flare is a prime example of a power that I find fun, but generally not useful in the grand scheme.
I use a conventional rotation of Glinting Eye, Gleaming Blast, Luminous Detonation and Proton Scatter with a sprinkling of Photon Seekers as needed. I dash with Radiant Strike and the very awesome "Now you DIE mister Void!" Incandescent Strike. Glowing Touch is there for helping out where needed or tight battles.
What I don't know is the easy or better direction to lean with set bonuses the good choice. So far it plays pretty well and I'm happy as a clam at 33.
Any thoughts or suggestions you could provide would be immensely helpful.
As a sub-query, would I get decent mileage out of Musculature or is the Alpha Recharge better off?
Thank you all very much in advance.

My issues with Steadfast are resolved. I was against it for some personal reason that I've forgotten.
In fact I bought one this weekend, between whatever trials I was enduring for my Incarnate powers.
I've played with Fly and Afterburner in both Mids and ingame and I can't see any increase to speed beyond their native bonuses. The Speed cap for fly is pretty low from what I've read.
Hover is there as a prereq to Afterburner and a mule for LoTG. I don't use it for defense and I don't care to. I'm much happier thematically with standing on the ground. The only time I do use it is for escaping caltrops-style powers and their low altitude doom.
I like Maneuvers because it brings something extra to the team, sharing is caring after all. But you're right, if I were up for hover scrapping, i'd drop Maneuvers for Hover and be one slot closer to Aid Self. -
<sigh> Back to Steadfast. Ah, well at least it's cheaper than the LoTG's I need.
-
Ah... that makes a profound amount of sense. Well, now I need to look at my numbers again. Oh, this is gonna suck.
-
-
Well, i'm more attached to Hover and Afterburner than I thought. I do use them. And they function nicely for mules when stacking for recharge.
I tweaked and revised and decided that the Steadfast in OOtS was both expensive and unnecessary. I moved a slot from Conserve Power (which I never use anyways) and six slot Build Up with Gaussian's. That puts my positional defenses at 46/47/48 and my recovery just past 3/s.

If nothing else, I would love to see some alternate animations for Broadsword. Some of the powers look or feel slower because of the animations. And some variety for us weapon types would be appreciated.
Counter that with a small increase to overall damage and I think BS would see some new life.
Not that I think there's anything wrong with it now, just ideas and options that could change things up. -
At the 40's you're going to fight a lot of Rikti, Malta and Carnies. Carnies are fun, they aren't as resistant to Lethal and make for some amusingly high hits.
Everyone else, on the other hand, are resistant. Arachnos resistance varies by the mob, Malta is pretty high across the board with everyone else falling in the middle.
I see longer fights with Malta than I do with Carnies because of this on Broadsword. -
I actually don't find endurance to be a problem after the Cardiac even at .9 end usage.
If you stack enough recharge like you're suggesting it makes the Broadsword optimal attack chain more of a reality so Air Superiority wouldn't be seeing any action.
At this point, Hover is more formality, I build my builds without City Traveler or the latest updates in mind because that's how I've been doing it all along. But I don't use it often and i don't need it so I'm starting to look at other options for those slots.
I was thinking Aid Other/Aid Self like you choose. -
I sorted out my build and got some numbers where I feel good about them. I'm just wondering if any of you can provide some feedback or pointers on where to refine this build.
As for objectives, i'm looking at solo x8 missions and general Trial survivability. Hover is a mule as it puts me too high on end cost for my comfort. Afterburner is negotiable.
Thanks for your time!

I'm surprised nobody here pointed this out.
Maybe they never went to Perez while leveling? Y'know how easy it is to skip Perez? Really f'ing easy since Hollows and later the Cape Mission revision. I've rolled five characters leveled to 20 since the Cape revision. Number that have visited Perez? Zero. Unless I do the Midnight Club missions, I only go to Perez for the Numina TF. -
I like to think it does, but I don't have a lot of experience or information behind the other sets. SR suffers from RNG the worst, as you have very little resistance you tend to get hit hard by whatever escapes your defense. There have been times I've felt like a god, where no force on Earth could touch me.
And then there are the moments where the RNG fails you and you take Jurassic's ten-ton hammer in the face. Twice. In a Row. -
Katana/SR. Fast attacks, cheap build. In fact, if you pm me i'll even give you my mids build so you can see exactly what you need to do.
But /sr is probably the cheapest secondary and defensive set you can play that can solo anything smaller than an AV. Even an AV with some fine-tuning and adjustments. -
The Rule is to avoid any Wikia site, between the ads, the layout and the missing information they're not worth it. For anything. Ugh.

I would guess per seeker, but the cynic in me says it's the total of all three.

Awesome! I was -in- that league for a couple stints. It was awesome!

Well, there are items not represented in the weapon customization. Nictus Shield is there with how to information only, but no image.
And yes, It's wiki. Adding it myself was my second option, but I figured first I'd look and see if maybe there was a third option I wasn't aware of.
Thanks!
