respec purchase suggestion

I know this is most likely an unusual request. Has any consideration ever been made for a one time purchase that would give all characters on an account 1 respec ? Right now I know it's $9.99 a pop, but if an account wide option was available, I'd buy it. Just a random thought/suggestion.

You get respecs like that through veteran rewards. Even better, they're respecs that appear on any character you made or will make from now until you stop playing.

Several of the Veteran rewards give a free respec to all your characters, current and future.

Makes me wonder why people pay so much for a respec recipie then ^_^

Thanks for the replies, but yes I know about the vet ones. Just a suggestion if we wanted to buy more in addition to the earned or vet ones. I have a few toons that have already burned all their vet respecs (I change my mind alot) .

I find it hard to believe that you burn through all three trial respecs and what is likely two vetspecs or more on every one of your characters.

If you do change your mind that often, I highly suggest using one of the build planners.

Not to mention the 4 or 5 freespecs that have dropped since 2007 when he registered.

Dechs,

My main's last respec was with a recipe I had to buy off the market.

He has used all the trial respecs.
He has used every vet respec on a 57 month vet rewards account.
He has used every freebie respec.

The devs change this game all the time and usually those changes are cause for character respecs.

To the OP, I find 10 bucks of real money for a respec to be ridiculous. I will NEVER make that purchase. 10 bucks for 10 respecs, I might.

Ok... all of the sudden the forums are broken again. Hitting save on a post edit does nothing.

Anyhoo, I've been using Mids since it was released.

I've emphasized this part for a reason.

I understand all that. That's your main. I've done the same with my main character in tweaking to get it just right. Mids can't tell you everything about how a character will perform. I was commenting on the fact that he shouldn't need that many respecs on every single character.

I do agree that $10 is pricey for a respec and that a batch would be much more appealing. As it stands, I'd much rather spend the inf for one on the market.

Understood and agreed. Bill Z is the only character I have in that boat. However, my warshade isn't too far behind.

Sad but true - I have quite a few that have zero respecs left. Maybe being able to buy 10 at a time and then pick where to apply them (similiar to the way you can buy character slots) would be a better concept.

Took me a while to register on the forums - actually just passed my 60 mo vet reward. Could wait till October and claim the next vetspec. (counts days).

Run the respec trial AGAIN ? Ugh... LOL j/k.

Edited for typos

Thing is, by the time you've burnt through all those respecs, your character is probably fairly rich. Possibly rich enough to buy a respec recipe.

(I have no idea how much they go for at the moment)

Not cheap. Going purely off memory, I think I paid 250mil. Granted, my memory sucks.

Speaking of this: I would support the suggestion to put respec recipes in the merit roll and purchase pools.

The forums must be running on ATI, huh Bill?

And yes, I too eat respecs for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a reasonable snack. The more I like a character, the more respecs I'll spend on them trying to perfect them. Builds, like pastures, are always greener.

Ouch. That's a "buy it nao" price. With 24 hours of patience, you could have a respec for tens of millions less than that. I recently paid 142 million for one redside. That's about the "going rate" if you are patient. Nothing wrong with "buy it nao" if you have more Inf' than real-world time, though.

The only time I can bring myself to do a respec is when they're about to give out a new one. Across 30-ish active characters I've probably used a half-dozen freespecs since about i7 or so, and I've never done the trial or used any of my vetspecs.

I really wish there was a way to obtain respecs without having to be in a large team for a lengthy taskforce against an Arch Villain.

Let us pay infamy/etc... for them or even let us complete a personal line of missions that has a 7 day cooldown or something.

Respec recipes are for sale pretty much all the time on the market. You can use your infamy/etc to pay for them.

Ran 2 villain respecs in about 20min each the other day. PuG of 6 or 7 that took about 15min to form. Even on a team that wasn't doing a speed run, we took only about 15 min longer. Villains have it easy compared to heroes, who have an enforced stand around time that stretches the respec to just over an hour (and no benefit of good AV experience bump at the end).

Please tell me that you are not wasting respec's on characters under level 20...

Oh, for the OP - have you used the second build? (See any trainer.) That seems to get forgotten a lot.

As far as "all characters on an account," well - where would they price that, reasonably? Some people only have 2-3, perhaps. Then there are people like me with 160+ characters - assuming an even split, that'd be 80 characters on one account. Yeah, it'd be a *huge* bargain for me, admittedly (though I've got enough respecs on most not to need to worry about it,) but what would be fair to everyone involved?

Most of the time i wait until 22.

i usually go through a couple respecs on the way to 50, and then i normally only use one or two a year for an alt after that. i do have several 50 alts i'm considering redoing the builds on pretty extensively since they were done fairly soon after inventions were introduced and i've gotten much better at designing builds and several good sets have been added since then. Overall i will respec on a whim. For alts that have been idle for long while i will use a freespec when i start playing them again if i've found new build strategies in the meantime even if they're only level 12.

Oh, I understand that Schisy. I'm just saying I'd reroll anything 20 and under simply because it's so simple to get back to that point. I wouldn't bother wasting a respec on them at that level.

As for Respec trials, out of 70-80 characters, I think I have done maybe 3, and that wasn't even to get the respec, I was just teaming with friends.

Also, dont forget thatsome people want to remove expensive IOs for re-use or redistribution. Back in the days of SO enhancers, it wasnt that big a deal, as the SOs sold back at full value, and were easy to replace. Now, though, with billion inf builds, the last thing you want is to just lose them all. I can easily see people spending several respecs on a single lvl 50 to tweak their builds
