RE: Power of the Phoenix Question
I have a mutant controller. I have this power called "Power of the Phoenix." When I first added this power, I added a slot for "Enhance Damage" but I have never been able to use this against enemies. Why was Damage added to this power? How can I do damage the "Power of the Phoenix?"

You need to be on a team, and one of your teammates needs to die. Then you can rez them with a mini-nuke.
Heh. It's a Revive power.

To the OP: RotP is a self-rez, in other words, you can use it to resurrect yourself when you are defeated. The reason it can be slotted for damage is because it damages and stuns nearby foes when you use it. It also provides 90 seconds of invulnerability, hopefully to get you out of the situation that got you dead in the first place.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is referring to Rise of the Phoenix, which is the same as the Fiery Aura power of the same name. So it's a self-rez, not an ally rez.

Arrgh, I even looked it up to make sure RotP was available to Controllers, but I didn't check to see if one of the Controller primaries/secondaries had a similar power.
My mistake!

Yes, it's fun attacking enemies with a dead teammate.
To bad you can't get Fallout and PotP in the same set
Sometimes you get the bear; sometimes he get you, rips your head off, sucks out your eyes, pulls out your spleen, humps your leg and pees in your boots
Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.
Hi All,
I have access to thermal and ROTP. I used to be able to rez myself but for some reason now I can only rez my teammates. I'm level 47 now. I will pay attention to the damage surrounding the ROTP. I have rez occassionally under fire. The ROTP is so valuable I try not to waste them by doing it under pressure/fire.
Also, I use as a reference the CoH/CoV Prima Guide from 2004. Also, I have the PDFs but the Prima guide has more details even though it is a little dated :-) Ocassionally, I use the wiki but it just doesn't have details I need. For example, details about the capabilities of Vanguard Rikti Weapons.
Thanks for all of your comments,
ResidentX10
Yeah... the prima guide from 2004 is retardulously out of date. It was out of date the day it was printed, and it was also printed with a bunch of errors. Burn it in a fire.

Vanguard are the faction that fight against the Rikti. What the heck is your last sentence supposed to mean?

They're just costume peices for weapon Power sets. They don't do anything, per say, but they look cool, and may make cools sounds, can't remember.
They give you light-sabers,light-hammers,light-axes, light-claws, light-shields and Light-bows. Depending on which Weapon-based set you have, as well as a fancy vangaurd rifle, no Vanguard pistols yet though

I'll miss you all.
Aggelakis, to answer your question about the Vanguard Rikti Weapons. Yes, the Vanguard do fight against the Rikti. When your in the RWZ war room where Lady Grey is have you seen all of those invention machines? They have VANGUARD Rikti Weapons to augment your own powers. You can buy them with Vanguard Merit Points. I have not bought any of them yet because I'm curious about their effectiveness.

They are shiny new models for your character's weaponry; just like at character creation where you can choose from a bunch of Broadsword swords, there is a Broadsword sword you can purchase from Vanguard to enhance your costume. (Same with almost every other weapon.)

Unlike virtually every other MMO, anytime you unlock a new costume option, all it does is give you the ability to further enhance your appearance. None of the unlockable costume pieces change your abilities in any way.
How we slot our powers has no effect on how we look, and how we look has no bearing on our effectiveness. Slotting an IO from the Obliteration set won't change how we look, and unlocking the Roman costume pieces by completing the Imperious Task Force won't change how the character plays.
Just because someone has one of those nifty, sometime hard to get costume pieces, they are not automatically 1337. You can't tell how skilled a player is, nor how powerful their character is, by looking at what they wear. All the Roman armor says is that the character is at least level 35, and that the character took part in a successful Imperious Task Force. They could have followed along and spammed Brawl for all you know (not that I suggest this tactic, many Task Force leaders will not hesitate to kick someone who is playing so poorly as to be a liability).
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
As a Gravity / Thermal Controller, I don't think you can buy any of those weapon skins (maybe you can, but you won't be able to use them, as you don't have any weapons that can be customized).

Today, I /respec. I dropped group dimension shift. Also, I noticed Gravity distoration and Gravity distoration field are different. The field only holds and no damage. Also, I redid POTP and added ROTP. ROTP lets me rise and do damage to surrounding enemies and POTP lets me do the same for my allies. I was only able to get ROTP/for me when I added the Epic Fire Powerset
Those are not Vanguard Rikti weapons. They're Vanguard weapons.

Yes they are....they are owned by Vanguard and used against the Rikti...that's why I call them Vanguard Ritki Weapons. I think you can buy mines, psionic defense and other things

If you're talking about the temporary powers, which are not really "weapons", they are located here.
