Earth Assault for dominators is just so slow. Usually I can level just about anything, but this one I gave up on.
Stone armor is another one that I don't play. Honestly, I haven't given it a try in quite a while. Yet again, the slowness of the set is a big downer. -
Those are all good combos. I personally like to play my ice/thorn or grav/thorn. I'm sure someone already mentioned the ability to stuff all kinds of nasty procs in /thorns. If your looking for something outside the box, try one of these.

0-400 rep and not a single drop. Working as intended? I don't think so.
-
You could wait until i16 and roll a nrg/TA. That would work nicely. TA has lots of res debuff and mitigation. I like nrg blast but find it harder to use on a corr as oppose to a blaster.

Dark/Cold works well together but I'm a little unimpressed with the damage output. Dark is great if your into arena dueling or team PvP. If your gonna be soloing most of the time I'd go with a primary that hits harder. Fire is what I'd recommend.
If you truly don't plan on taking any shields, you may want to look at /storm. -
Fire/Dark is a powerhouse. As is Fire/Kin, Rad/Dark, Rad/Kin, AR/Dark. Fire and Rad have the best AOEs along with least resisted. Assault rifle has nice T9 but is more resisted later on in game.

I typically skip the proton volley and x-ray beam. You either like snipes or you don't. If you solo mostly then a snipe may be your thing. On teams they are only good for pulling (but that's what the brute is for). X-ray is also optional because neutrino bolt recharges so fast. I just finished my rad/dark and he is a blast. It is a solid combo. Plus, the dark and glowy green make pretty colors (but i16 is will allow customization).

I love my trappers. I have a ice/trap which is OK. A rad/trap that rocks out and is my favorite. And a fire/traps which has lots & lots of raw damage.

You can run flash back missions, strike forces, & PvP. Or roll another villain or hero. You have 2 builds available to you. I like to make a PvP build and PvE build. Some people dedicate a build for max AOE damage, ST damage, Strike Force running, ect.
As for your other question: TF=Task Force (CoH), SF=Strike Force (CoV). These are a series of mission that must be done with a team. Time to complete varies from 30 min to 6 hours. Rewards include merits or hami IO/Synthetic Hami IO.
The game has tons of missions for you to run. Use AE sparingly. Don't be that guy who has several 50s but never left AE -
Sticky bomb sounds like a great idea. It very similar to Snaggle Tooth's attack when he chucks a guy at you with a bomb strapped to his back (meanwhile the guy beats you in the head until he blows up. That's an old school sticky bomb).
I think changing the FFG to a device that is worn as opposed to a floating device would also help. Currently the FFG is a giant "Hey! Come and kill me!" beacon. Not only does it follow wayyyy toooo slowwww but also alerts everyone as to your position. It defeats the purpose of taking stealth or a stealth io. If they want to make something float and follow, make it acid mortar. Also give acid mortar basic controls like passive & aggressive.
There are so many changes that could be done. Wasn't there an old thread about proposed changes?
But as the saying goes...You can wish in one hand, crap in the other, and see which hand gets filled first. -
Don't sugar coat it. Tell us how you really feel.

I wouldn't say rad blast is least played since you can fill it full of awesome procs.
My vote for least played is NRG blast. NRG blast on Blasters and Doms is good. NRG blast on Corrs is subpar. 2nd least played in my book is Dark Blast. -
I find /traps to be a blast in PvE. With a team of 4, you can easily have out 8+ acid mortars. That over -160% res! Not including the -res proc to can slot in acid mortar or the -res from sonic primary. But as was stated earlier, 4 of anything would be awesome. The beauty of /traps is that its set & forget.

I think a team of /trap corr would be fun. You'll be at def cap, massive -res & -def and status protection. There isn't much in the game u couldn't steam roll thru. Just my 2 cents.

I got a lvl50 ice/thorn (pre AE & no farms). He is still one of my favorite characters. I've been using mine mainly for PvP but does great in PvE also.

I have been searching the web for a solution but no luck as of yet. At least I know I'm not the only one with this problem. I had all my cool macros keyed to the extra programmable buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
-
Just bought a Razer Deathadder mouse with programmable buttons (my Logitech G9 died) but the game won't recognize the buttons. My old G9 also was programmable and worked great. Is there an ingame setting that I'm missing? My OS is Vista 64bit. Anyone else ever have this happen? And how do I fix it?

PvP recipes give you double the bonus compared to purples AND you can slot multiple PvP recipes. Purples are nice but I'd trade all mine for PvP if i could...maybe not all, but most of them.

mind/thorns will work. Thorns has -def and aim. Add in tactics and you'll hit that scrapper all day long.
-
Nope. Cause you would have been at perception cap. Sucks, I know.

I also have trouble finding a team on freedom. I have a lvl36 DM/Nin, with only one travel power, no extra stealth, & all the toys that /nin offers (strictly PvE, obviously). I am very team friendly stalker with lots to offer & still get few invites. I find alot of leaders will look at a stalkers build before inviting. Some people frown on the fotm PvP builds. It makes me sad.
