Purples or PvP IO's?

I'm trying to build my newest blaster for PvP. What I wanted to know was which I should start saving up for Purple IO's or PvP IO's? Purples give sweet bonuses, but how do they stack up against those from the PvP sets in PvP zones? Thanks

go to paragon wiki and see what bonuses you want for your build, unless you want a 10 page argument about which is better and then watch it turn into complaining about low drop rates and how pvp gota killed off. just saying. There isn't a "right set for your toon ,you need to decide what needs a boost and slot accordingly. You're better off posting in the blaster forum.

PvP recipes give you double the bonus compared to purples AND you can slot multiple PvP recipes. Purples are nice but I'd trade all mine for PvP if i could...maybe not all, but most of them.

bad general case scenario.

when you have enough pvp recipes to make thunderstrike hit harder than with 5 armageddons and an obliteration proc let me know.

When you figure out how to put Thunderstrikes, Armageddons, and Obliterations in the same power let me know.

thunderstrike is a power yo.

Um... No, it doesn't.

You're still here.

Spasms right Purples are still better for that one power but slot the rest of ur powers up with pvP IOs this maximizes the set bonuses and dmg output.

both

That is until you enter a lower level pvp zone and loose all your bonuses.....
Where as Purples, you keep the bonuses regardless of lvl.

PvP IOS work just like purples. They exemp with you all the way down to level 1 even if the IO's are level 50's.

hmmm maybe this is why these PvEers are getting crazy over the PvP IOs however does this mean that the set bonuses they provide exempt all the way as well?

The set bonuses exemp all the way down.

The actual enhancement % (for acc/dam etc) scale like any other enhancement (even purples).

This does mean there is little reason to look for anything but 50s for a high level character in the PvP sets.

With so many redundant (and large!) set bonuses for purples, diminishing returns starts to become an issue after slotting a few powers. For my PVP build (which I haven't finalized yet) I plan to check when DR starts to set in for certain bonuses then start slotting PVP IO's instead.

The Titan Network is working on it. There's a slight hurdle, but we're moving forward.

Sorry to hear Mids is stepping down, but I'm sure he's placed it in capable hands. Best wishes, Mids.
