What do you do once you hit 50?
The whole game is the game...there's not really "end game content" in CoH. It's about the journey, not the destination.
However, a few ideas:
-Raid the Rikti Mothership
-Hami Raid
-Run TFs for merits to IO out your toon
-Exemp to run lower-level content with friends
-Ouro back and finish arcs you leveled past
-Hunt for badges
-Roll an alt
What's a TF? I've just resubscribed too and I'm a bit rusty.

Task Force

Though being a MM, Strike Force is probably more appropriate.

As they say, this game is mostly about the journey to 50.
It depends on what you like to do. You can decide to collect badges on your MM. Or work on buying IO sets to make him better. You can team as normal or try PVP out. Hamidon raids are something that occassionally pop up for 50's to do. Or play more to build up a personal base or bank roll your other lowbies.
Usually on most servers there is a channel or 2 that people talk on to form task forces and what not.
If you are not sure what I mean, it is like broadcast or local or help,, whatever. I add a new tab and join the popular channel, which is very helpful while leveling up to join task forces. Sorry if I'm not explaining it very well, but you can work on it, it's easier than it sounds.

If you got to 50 and don't recall what a TF or SF is, you've definitely missed out. At level 50, keep playing the game.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Start a VEAT, or do the SF's you passed. Lot's of things to still do.
Spines/ D A lvl 50 Scrap, stone/wm lvl 50 tank, Kat/reg lvl 50 Scrap
Grav/Kin lvl 50 Cont, Fire/Enegry lvl 50 Blast
Warshade lvl 50, PB lvl 39, nightwidow lvl 50, crab lvl 42
plant/thorns lvl 50 dom, ice/fire lvl 40 dom, grav/nrg lvl 41 dom
You can run flash back missions, strike forces, & PvP. Or roll another villain or hero. You have 2 builds available to you. I like to make a PvP build and PvE build. Some people dedicate a build for max AOE damage, ST damage, Strike Force running, ect.
As for your other question: TF=Task Force (CoH), SF=Strike Force (CoV). These are a series of mission that must be done with a team. Time to complete varies from 30 min to 6 hours. Rewards include merits or hami IO/Synthetic Hami IO.
The game has tons of missions for you to run. Use AE sparingly. Don't be that guy who has several 50s but never left AE
You also get Accolades by collecting certain various badges -- these Accolades give you bonus powers or strength (or something of that nature).
I find badge collecting is a fun thing to do with a lvl 50 toon. By collecting badges, you will inevitably go and do things that are fun that you would not have normally done.
Make friends. Run things with friends. Help friends out. Ask friends for help.
Talk in global channels. Learn things from new people. Steal their knowledges.
Try crazy ideas. Make big explosions. Do silly outrageous things.
We have a tradition of, when you hit fifty, doing a death dive into an Archvillain or something else that will kill you.
... of course debt means nothing BEFORE 50, these days.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

What should I do?

Everything you haven't yet done.
Honestly, on my 50s, I just do whatever I feel like doing at the moment simply because I can. To me, the joy of having a 50 is being able to do what you want when you want to do it. It may not be the most productive thing, but I enjoy it. If you feel like doing TFs, do some. If you feel like going and getting a few badges, get some.
Overall, this thread has pretty much nailed it.

This,
This is what I do. I love playing my 50's just as much as I love playing my lowbies. Heck, my 50 shade gets more play than any other character I have.
Badging in a PvP zone?
If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.
This is an enjoy-the-ride game. "50" is only a number, not the goal of the game. - Noxilicious

And another This.
There's something very liberating about just...PLAYING with your 50, rather than hunting xp or inf or badges.
I like to just hang out in Atlas on my 50 Emp and buff lowbies heading into the sewers or heal and buff street sweeping lowbies.
Sometimes I'll grab my 50 Grav/Kin and Speed Boost and Inertial Reduction lowbies to help them get around quicker.
Sometimes I'll get to a point where I miss having a goal, at which point I'll just log off my 50 and jump on a lower hero for some xp-grubbin'.
Make a new character.
Task Forces, Strike Forces, Flashbacks, badge hunting, helping friends, rolling new alts...

To reiterate what everyone else has said, CoX's content is evenly spread out through all the levels.
Anyway, for starters, you can finish up your level 45-50 contacts. Just because you can't level up anymore doesn't mean you can't do some big-time evil.
Speaking of big-time evil, you definitely wanna do some Strike Forces. What's level 50 good for if not beating up the entire bloody Freedom Phalanx at once? You might wanna start slow first before jumping to the Lord Recluse Strike Force first. It might just be the only thing in the game legitimately challenging. Everyone gets to level 50 eventually, but not everyone can say they struck a debilitating blow at Paragon City's greatest when they were at their greatest.
On the matter of bading and such, you also might wanna try to unlock Viridian. He's got a pretty interesting arc, and I'd say the contact is worth it for the second-to-last mission alone. All you need to do is take down 200 Tsoo Sorcerers found at the western end at Black Mariah in St. Martial, 100 Freakshow Tanks found at the edges of Sharkhead Isle, 200 Council members (if you haven't beat 2000 of those guys at the time you hit 50, you did something very wrong) 200 Crey personell, and 200 Paragon Protectors found at The Fab in northernmost Grandville. Yes, that last part is redundant, but it explicitly says to defeat both 200 Crey and 200 PPs. I'll never know why.
Just getting everything together for Viridian will keep you busy for a while, and as a fellow MM, I can already tell you farming up PPs in The Fab can be immensely difficult when you try it alone.
But ultimately? Roll a new toon. Don't abandon your sweet new 50, of course. But you know what they say: Distance makes the heart grow fonder. You can always do stuff with your 50, but without the sweet sensation of dinging, things can get old quick. Have some fun with other toons, and you'll find yourself returning to your 50 every once in a while, anyway. At least I did.
The guys above have pretty much said what I love about my 50 though. Knowing that there is now nothing in the game that you can't take on is quite cool.
These are good reasons, by the way, to NOT increase the level cap. It's nice to be able to finish a character and get him or her just the way you want, then go do stuff. All your other characters are unfinished from the start, and get the joy of leveling up; the joy of NOT having to wait for anything later, of not having to feel incomplete, is unique to level 50s.

Lol! as I was scrolling down reading this thread, THIS is exactly what I was thinking.
I have a new sparkling level 50 MM. My first 50 ever. What should I do? Is there concise end game content that I should be gearing toward or just PvP and AE groups O_o. And to what aim?
