MAX damage corruptor?
Fire/Kin, although for the single-click "everything dies nao" Ice/Kin with a damage-capped Blizzard is the single highest damage click in a player powerset (even with a 400% cap instead of 500%).
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

My fave Corrupter is my Fire/Storm Fire gives you damage of every style almost without limit. Storm gives you slowing, defense AND damage resistance debuffs, a pair of Nasty pets, and wide area stealth. My fave attack style is the the Fatal 4, Freeze Rain + Rain of Fire + Fireball + Firebreath. ONE salvo will bury nearly ANY mob. You can solo with it, Teams will LOVE you. OH, just be careful with knockback attacks ... Teams might NOT love that.
2 Things, 1. you WILL need Stamina if you run your Mist alot. 2. You WILL want to put end reduction in Mist. Its an endurance BLOWTORCH.

Sorry to threadjack but I think its relavent, let me ask this in anticipation of issue 16, how does trick arrow if using corrupter mods work compared to say cold domination in terms of using a nuke like blizzard. I like the whole everyone dies nao thing that Siolfir mentioned. How exactly does one slot for this? How does corrupter -resistance stack up to corrupter +damage? Whats the lowest time a person can get blizzard down to with IOs?

Fire/Kin, Fire/Cold, Ice/Kin, Ice/Cold
Fire/kin hands down for pure damage.
However, in many situations Fire/storm and Fire/cold can keep pace because they are so good at using rain of fire whereas /kin is not. Though web envelope can alleviate most of this issue.
Rain of Fire does massive damage.
Fire/TA is going to be a neat combo, but OSA recharges way too slow for it to keep pace with the other big damage dealers.
fire/ta will be nice, im trying to think of some nice ppp combo that would make it sweeter.
to the OP: fire/dark is another safer high dmg corr.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. It seems my original ideas were pretty spot on with fire/kinetics for most damage.
I do find it funny that no one even mentioned energy. How does this set compare to ice/ or fire/? I know the knockback angers teams... but how does the damage compare? It's a very pretty set with regards to the effects.

don'T attempt to read tHis mEssaGe, And believe Me, it is not a codE.
Energy's "pretty", and it's "fun", but Ice hits harder on single target and has similar AoE (more due to the random KB causing scatter than any benefit of Ice's AoE damage - with something to bounce mobs against it's not bad), and Fire hits harder on both single target and AoE.

Fire/Dark may be more ideal for you because Fire/Dark gets most of its super damage tools very early. Tar Patch and Rain of Fire both can be online quickly.
Fire/Kinetics really doesn't head into the stratosphere of damage until after Fulcrum Shift. Siphon Power just doesn't compare.
Fire/Dark is a powerhouse. As is Fire/Kin, Rad/Dark, Rad/Kin, AR/Dark. Fire and Rad have the best AOEs along with least resisted. Assault rifle has nice T9 but is more resisted later on in game.

Alright, I've come up with (what I think is) a really cool concept character.* I want him to be a corruptor, and I want him to be able to deal damage like nobody's business. I'd like to throw around a lot of AoE too. I'm not sure which powerset combination will give me the most damage, so I'm asking you guys.
I don't care about slinging knockback, AoE aggroing myself to debt. I just want to put out damage. Remember, it's a concept thing. If there's a set combo with a high constant damage output, and another with even higher, but only for a short time output, I'll go with the "even higher" option.
Primary: The only thing I can scratch off the list is sonic/. It won't work thematically. I'm thinking fire/, because I hear it sacrifices a secondary effect for more damage. I thought energy had some nice damage, too. My big concern here is high numbers, preferably AoE, that don't get resisted too often.
Secondary: My thoughts here are "If I end up buffing my team, so be it, but that wasn't the plan." I want to be able to buff the hell out of my damage, and if my teammates benefit, oh well. I'm leaning towards /kinetics because of the awesome fulcrum shifting, and siphon power to last until then. I've heard /pain actually has some self damage buffs, are they any good?
Alright, what am I overlooking? You guys know corruptors; I've never played one. Educate me.
*For anyone who's curious, he's going to be a stupid mutant named Abrakaboom who believes he has magical powers. He will have been created by my mastermind character with the intent of laying waste to his enemies, but the unfortunate lack of intelligence and overabundance of personality resulted in a "friendly, fun-loving beast that likes to blow stuff up with its magical powers." With no interest in following orders, the beast is more like a dog. You can throw the ball into the neighbor's yard, but you just have to hope the dog ruins the flowerbed on the way to fetch it.
