  1. [Vanguard Psionic Shield] is an easy to get temp power that can help you with psi damage as well as the [Elusive Mind] Accolade.

My problem with WP is the low resistance and defense numbers. You really have to work a lot harder to get Soft Capped S/L/E/N. Invuln gets [Invincibility] which can really increase your defenses when surrounded, +regen, not so much. The more people around you giving you that extra 75-100% regen will be doing more damage in the process anyhow. The -To Hit is resistable so it's not the same as +defense.

    Invulnerability
-- Close to capped Smashing and Lethal resistance
    -- End drain resistance
    -- Slow resistance
    -- Defense debuff resistance
    -- Higher base defenses
-- Higher HP when Dull Pain is active
-- Easier to soft cap all 3 typed groups
    -- +To Hit with Invincibility
-- Mag 4 taunt Aggro Aura
-- The more mobs around, the higher your defenses, the less chance of taking damage

    Will Power
    -- Extra endurance recovery
    -- Higher Regen
    -- +Perception Power
-- Mag 3 taunt aggro aura
    -- -To Hit aggro aura
    -- Constant +HP
-- Higher psi res and defense
    -- Self Res
-- +Regen with extra mobs in Melee
    -- Crashless tier 9

Tried to give just positive comparisons for both, even though I'm more biased to Invuln. Make your own decision.
  2. I find that single target is the strong suite for my DM/Invuln scrapper. However, with Soul Drain and Dark Consumption slotted for damage (needed extra E/N defense), Fire Ball and Judgement, I can clear mobs pretty quickly as well as take out the boss at the same time. I do use Dark Consumption as an attack however.
  3. I want a spines armor scrapper.

Hmmm, I wonder why I had it in my mind that it effected the duration. I mean, most -regen that you run into is -eleventy billion (besides the preatorian bursts, which stack quickly). Seems to me it would be better to quarter the duration than the magnitude with 50% resistance.
  5. I didn't read through the whole thread to see if this was brought up, but doesn't regeneration debuff resistance affect the length of the debuff, not the magnitude?
  6. There are 3 ways to build this combo. You can go cheap and just attain +HP bonuses. This will give you something that you cannot attain with Temp powers, Inspirations and team buffs. Just focus on slotting your powers effectively, with +HP and +Regen in mind. This is not the best way for self sufficiency.

The next one would be to at least get the soft cap of Smashing/Lethal Damage. (45%). This should make you pretty hard to kill, with your meager resistances and highish elemental defenses to back you up. This would be the second cheapest route, and you will be fairly durable.

The final one is attempting to soft cap Smashing/Lethal/Energy/Negative and hopefully Fire/Cold as well, though it's not as important. This should be the most beastly build you can muster, but will most likely be pricey.

Your Primary really plays little part in survivability. It does help some, but in the long run, if you want to be seen as uber, being able to AFK in mobs is always self rewarding.

So, Make a build with one of those goals in mind and let's see what we can tweak.
  7. You must be thinking of Lightning Rod. You must be on the ground for Lightning Rod to work.

    lv 50 Brute....

Ever think about slotting your attacks for damage? Just think of what Fury + rage can do to Knock Out Blow if it actually had it's damage doubled with enhancements!

This is a nice build that should treat you well. It is not the best build, and it could even be considered not a great build. But it should keep you from dying all the time, and allow you fair damage output. I put alternate slotting for the powers with purples if you don't want to use them. (Not sure if exports port secondary slottings).

  9. What were they thinking?

"Let's stop the PvP complaining by making everyone suck the same. Then we can stop caring about PvP and have the whole PvP community rage quit."
  10. Speaking of the poll, asking what powersets we most wanted, I remember voting for Shield defense. Not because of having a shield. For some reason I thought Shield Defense meant having perma Force Field Shields. Getting to run around in hamster balls sounded fun.
  11. Well, immobilizes would do the trick.

As a scrapper, your choices are meager. Tenebrous Tentacles from dark mastery is the only AoE Immobilize available for scrappers.

I personally find Energy Torrent synergizes well with Spines. Can pop an FF Proc in there for a good chance that it will proc. It neuters an alpha for you, and is around the same cone as Throw Spoons.
  12. Procs are gravy. If you can fit them in its wonderful, but don't gimp yourself to achieve them.
  13. I dislike it. KO blow is underslotted imo. Should have some more damage, endurance and recharge.

Tactics is superfulous. Punch needs enhancements. Healing flames could use one more Doctored Wounds for the bonus. Rage is... well interestingly slotted. Are you a veteran that can get a travel power without getting the prerequisite? I would say the +3% defense pvp io would be a better investment the a random chance to get a small heal or endurance return. Pop the Winters Gift IO in SJ's empty slot. What was the thinking behind [Blazing Aura]'s set choice? I never recommend mixing positional and typed defense IO sets unless it gets you that 1-2% you need to be soft capped. I would personally go with Mu Mastery, E-Fences and Ball Lighting. Gives you a second AoE to use and has better damage and doesn't need 3 power picks.

    That enough to think about?
  14. though being able to mix and match powers would be cool... and yet... broken (Champions Online anyone?)
  15. No, the way the FF proc used to work was it would roll for each to hit roll on each target, and you could walk away with 10-16 stacks of +100% recharge each. And could be done as often as you wanted.
  16. The DoT can also crit >.> However, the taunting from attacks helps keep mobs from running which is a big problem for Fire Melee Scrappers.
  17. KM/Fire =/= SS/Elec

Kinetic Melee is a good set.
  18. Didn't look like this did it?

No it's not the video recording messing up, this is what the game does occasionally when I use AoEs.

    WM/EA Lost?

You will be sucking wind and needing lots of blue candy. Eradications are also fairly expensive. But nice work, Kioshi-san.

Energy Blast was originally designed to be Water Blast, but was renamed Energy Blast, and can still be used as such.

Superior Reflexes is as good as it gets for a luck mechanic. They just miss yah all the time, but when your luck runs out... your screwed.

Not sure how this is supposed to do anything but forcing a cosmetic change on your team mates. You plan on doing something like [Growth] which increases damage and enlarges the team mate? If so, there are going to be servers full of unhappy people when they get triple [Growth]ed in a small cave. There are too many problems with enlarging sprites, and people already complain that [Speed Boost] and Ice Shield mess up their concept and are angry at that. Just think about the anger ensuing when you are forced to play a giant toon, when you always play small toons.

The animation times would be killer for you if you always had to pick things up. Think [Propel] and [Hurl]. Any toon can get [Throwing Knives] as well as [Envenomed Daggers]. Don't see why this should be implemented.

I would say if any one asked me what new melee set I would like to see, I would tell them Sonic Melee. Vibrating the hands at high speeds and creating sound waves at melee range. I don't think its necessarily a good idea. Main reason I want it is for a Smashing Melee set that does -Res.... >.>

As for a blast set... Needle/Spine Blast sounds nifty...
  21. *bluntness*

Pretty bad concept and design. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to not make this look dumb and dorky?

How would [Climb] be helpful? [Rope Burn]? Really did you run out of ideas? Jump Rope? Really?? I can go to youtube to watch some one jump rope. How in the world would [Hang Him] work? and do you realize how quickly you would get lynched by the feminists by implying that only Male mobs can be hung.

Looks like an attempt to make a Rope Control set, not a Blaster's Manipulation set. Most of the powers would do little to no damage. How would this be good for a Blaster... who is supposed to do damage.

    *like a mother*

Well Timmy, I think if you really believe this is a good idea, I want you to believe as hard as you can. Because only through believing will you be able to achieve your dreams.

    WM/EA Lost?

Wasted slots as in, 5 Reactive Armor in Tough, only need 4. is .63% fire/cold def really helping you?

Multi Strike instead of Eradication. .94% Fire/Cold/Smashing/Lethal defense really worth that?

6 Slotting Pulverize with Razzle Dazzle, Jawbreaker with Mako's, Clobber with Touch of Death, Gausians in build up.

5 slots of recharge in hasten.

Botz set, nothing in stamina or health, no heal in Energy Drain.

After the buff to EA, I would 4 slot Energy Drain like I mentioned in above post, and also slot Energize with 5 Doctored wounds.

Much better to use your ST melee powers to get S/L defense and +HP with Kinetic Combats, PBAoE powers slotted with Eradication's and 2 Sirocco's Dervishes for Energy/Negative defense, +HP and extra Regen, and resistance powers with 3 Aegis for Fire/Cold defense, as well as taunt slotted with Mocking Beratement, like you did. (which, oddly enough, Beratement is not a word, you can Berate some one, but you can not use it as an Adverb. Looked it up when spell check was angry at me... )
  23. _Pine_

    WM/EA Lost?

Your wasting a lot of slots and slotting for a lot of crap in that first build. Second build is a little better, but not by much...

If I had a WM/EA I would do this build.... Pop 5 Doctored Wounds in Conserve Power and the LotG Proc, Def, Def/Rech, Efficacy Adapter End Mod/Rech in Energy Drain.

    *edit*
Ok, so I some how forgot to post the build, and have since cleared without saving >.>....
