NCSoft has even mentioned that money is not the issue. They have so much money, they don't know how to utilize it all.
This is all about PR in their eyes, and that they care more about Korean stuff than Americans. -
The cap is still a cap. Not a soft cap. The cap can be raised, but only with Afterburner.
Soft cap = not really the cap, but adding any more, while increasing your stat, will not effect your character in any real meaning full way. I am sure you are bright enough to understand the difference between a cap and soft cap, Klaw. -
TW/Bio Brute: Pine Kismet. Cause he was awesome Q_Q.

Quote:Nerfing Hamios was only a recent 'fix'. ED was a necessary evil. All those nerfs mentioned were a product of our favorite Dev Jack 'Statesman' Emmert. If by "grow up" you mean "triggered a slow, steady decline that made the game's shut down seem a question of 'when', not 'if'", I'd say that's arguable, but would probably agree.
Nerfing hammios is what made IOs possible. That's why I said "ED era" rather than just plain old ED. Hammio nerfs, AoE hold nerfs, pet nerfs, and ED all happened back-to-back of each other. Then CoV was released, which gave a short-lived bump in subs followed by a steady decline that never ended.
Invention Origin Enhancements allowed characters to actually EXCEED what pre-ED characters could do.
Pre-ED: Characters with perma hasten = 70% global recharge. Perma godmode (unstop/elude) still had the crash to deal with.
After IOs: Characters with perma hasten = 170%ish global recharge. Perma godmode = soft capped defense meaning no crash needed.
If ED had been introduced along with IOs, the game would never had had that dip.
As for your assumption that the game has been declining since ED happened: 2005, then you are wrong. While CoH did take a pretty big hit when ED happened, understandably so, it did start to grow after a while. There is no denying that, even with the switch to free to play, the game has been increasing in both players and income. -

Can't help but critique Uzdreg, its just what I do.
First, there is no soft cap in resistance, there is, however, a cap.
Next, Flash Freeze Q_Q. Its a sleep that your Psi tornado will wake them from.
Thirdly, Soul Absorption needs to be slotted for heal/endurance mod/recharge. I understand you are using it for bonuses, but its going to be necessary for you to keep stacked for the endurance recovery to keep Arctic Air on.
I would suggest Clarion for mez protection and switch to Primal Mastery. Also, World of Confusion has too small of a radius to be effective. Fade IS effected by Power Boost.
Switching to Primal Mastery will give you a spot for Super Speed as well.
Why don't you pick up Frostbite, to give you AoE containment.
I understand that Ice Slick and Frostbite do not synergize at all. However, Frostbite does damage as well as sets up containment.
Power Boost + Fade will give (with the slotting I have) 19.5% + 15.93% = just under 35.5% defense to all. Add in Weave, Maneuvers, CJ and Shadow Fall (my slotting) and it will give you 25% + 35% = 60% defense. That is with NO set bonuses for defense, you will be at the incarnate soft cap to all positions. Ain't that nifty? now you can go for recharge bonuses.
I will fiddle with the build and post it later, if you are interested. -
OK John, you talked me into this one. Responsible for soloing every GM (taking this last month to record them all). My Ill/Cold troller build.

TW/Bio brutes are very easy to level up.
But for Dark Melee. Make sure you have enough recharge for Smite->MG->Smite->SL -
>.> not sure about the build above... a lot of bad choices for IO sets....
This is what I would do.

This is the most read area I believe at this time, which is why I am posting here.
A little while ago, I got a call from my credit card company. Apparently some one had started traipsing around the US purchasing stuff with my card. I checked my wallet and my card was still there... The interesting thing is, I haven't used the card in over a month. The ONLY transaction that has gone on that card in the last 30 days (and 2 days before the spending spree) was NCSoft's reimbursement of 5$ and another of 97 cents.
That just made me think something went fishy with their refunds, and it might effect you other CoH people. I advise yall to check your account that got the NCSoft refund. -
I sold most of my purples (I had to choose between saving my PvP IOs or Purples, I just didn't have enough toons to hold them both when copying characters). But I can give you some inf.
-
I've done a couple 12-15 minute ITFs and STFs in my day. Pretty proud of those runs.

Quote:The problem I have with both DCUO and Champions Online is the blocking system. Blocking is just dumb. Also the whole 'action rpg' is dumb as well. I have been spoiled with the soft cap :/ I cannot play any game with skill trees, breaking gear, action oriented battles, and a defense attribute that can get over nine thousand and yet only reduce your damage taken by 25%. I oh so love that about CoH, using percentages for everything, not giving you some random number that makes no sense. 45% defense means 45% defense.Champions Online is less restrictive than City of Heroes in terms of character creation, if you subscribe. Want an invulnerable tank with a psychic blast and pet robot? Go for it!
On free-to-play you're limited to archetypes with pre-selected powers that unlock at each level, but on a paid account you're selecting whatever powers you want.
Obviously, it still makes sense to try the free-to-play first, just to see if you like the game mechanics/can stand the cartoony look and so on. But I'd hate to see people dismiss the game purely on this count.
Also, I have to have a game that regenerates health IN COMBAT! -
Old IH and also getting rid of the aggro cap, or at least increasing it a bit. To often I have to yell aggro cap when 2 mobs get aggroed on a full team.
-
Does anyone have a Buddy Code they could give out for The Secret World? I am interested, but not willing to pop down 50 bucks just yet.
-
Just talked to their live chat. They no longer are offering a free trial. I'm not going to plop down $50 on a game that I doubt I will like.
-
But in order to register, you have to have a serial number.... Circular Reasoning Works Because Circular Reasoning Works problem >.>
-
I tried to try The Secret World Free trial.. but ... I can't find it.
I go to http://thesecretworld.com/news/sign_...hree_day_trial
and all I get is a news page... no way to sign up for it. Seems a lot of people are able to do it... but I'm not seeing any way to do it.
