For Villains, when you hit level 10, you get Dean John Yu in Cap as a contact. He'll start you through the villain IO tutorial. Read the details for information, insults, and insights into the "educational" system in the Rogue Isles. Those over level 10 can still do it, if they haven't done the tutorial already.
For Heroes, it's Admissions Officer Lenk in Steel Canyon. -
My perception is that the buff pets have low HP but good defenses.
-
I like your style, Professor Backfire.
David can win because he refuses to fight by Goliath's rules.
I'd really like to team with a guy pulling crazy stuff out of his pockets. Do you have any appropriate quotes or macros to go with them? -
Get your sleep.
Read your books.
Do your homework.
Attend class.
Form study groups with other serious students to hammer through the difficult courses and questions.
Get to know your profs, if possible.
Look in the library for old exams.
Primary goal is understanding. Memorization or regurgitation may pass the test, but comprehension is the point of education, at least to me.
Always have a plan. Always be ready to change the plan. -
I'd suggest starting grassroots movements to introduce more people to the fun of PvP. Events, challenges, broadcasts on the appropriate channels. If you want the supply, you'll have to start your own pool of opponents and teammates.
-
Well, for me, it's not how fast I get levels, it's how much fun I have playing. Levels happen.
Enjoy the game. -
The OP is asking reasonable questions on the these boards, without any whining, complaining, or sense of entitlement.
N00b Status = Negative.
Newblood Status = Postive!
We like to help. I'd also suggest you read the mission text as you go along. It can be well-written, entertaining, useful, or provide background information. Often when you are given a "Hunt" or "Cure" mission, they sometimes tell you which zones to check out.
I'd suggest when you hit 15 to go visit Jason Temblor in Faultline. He'll lead you onto a very interesting storyline, Part 1 for Levels 15-20, and Part 2 for Levels 20-25.
And Doc Delilah! Vavoom! -
I think the developers left an opening or option in the code to allow level pacts between more than two people, but they wanted to see how the feature would be (ab)used by the general population first.

Thank you Pyro, you said a lot, but there's a lot to think of...
I was on a Rikti AE mission, facing the regular composition, a mixture of teleporters, buffers, healers, psychic damage, mezzers, summoners, energy damage, lethal damage, high defense shooters, and hard-hitting bosses.
A homogenous threat is actually less of a threat, such as a mission composed of only Freakshow Swiper Lts, if you deliberately pick it, and you build to it.
Your comments about all Lts challenge versus the regular mix of minion, lts, and bosses made sense to me. The variety of hp/def/acc/dam in your enemy is a threat in itself, as AOE or ST damage changes effectiveness over the course of the fight. -
Oh heck I'd play it.
I really need to check out the humour MA missions... -
Hmmm. Was four years ago, so my memory is probably unreliable.
In any case, Zephyr, welcome to the game!
Been here over 4 years, and still enjoying it! -
Keep paper copies of the all the serial codes you apply. They can be used by customer service to identify you in case of a forgotten password or other problems.
I set up billing, then did the cancel to get my free month.
When my month was up (in the middle of a Synapse Task Force!), I actually RAN to get my credit card to re-apply. -
The base salvage itself may be valuable, especially the rare pieces.
When converted to brainstorms, these can also be sold. -
Auto abilities are always on, and don't need to be placed on your button bar to work.
If your tray is full of buttons, a new toggle or click power may not show. You'll need to open another button bar by clicking the upward pointing error on the upper right, and then place the power from the power menu on it.
Also, if you're level 14 and on trial, that's as high as you get to go.
Also, some powers are situational. For example they may only work on teammates, or dead teammates, or the area of effect must be chosen after the power is activated.
More details may help us help you more. -
Also, talk to all your active contacts. They may point you to new ones.
Your police scanner should be active in Steel Canyon, Skyway City, and Faultline. -
Also, check out www.paragonwiki.com and "Unlockable Costumes" and "Booster Packs" etc, for the details on how to spend your cash for maximum costume sweetness.

Quote:Sounds like you have a Mutation Invulnerability/Fire Tanker. For tankers, since they are about survival, the Defensive Set (Invulnerability) is first. Their melee attacks (Fire) are second.I just created a Tanker, I think he is a Mutation/Fire build? He is pretty fun to play, but I would like some suggestions on the build from anyone that has experience as a tanker or working with them.
I opted to not get a Running/Flying/Jumping power and got the taunt power section, hope that wasn't a mistake...
I have been working up my defensive side and now have 3-4 slots in the passive defense and 2-3 slots in my limited invulnerability spot. Also recently got the resist elements power and have 2 slots in that now.
On the fire side, I have Combustion, Fire Swords and 1 other (AOE type ability)
For the taunt, I took the 2nd choice, which I believe is Provoke as it seemed to be better than Challenge.
So my question is this...What should I focus on now? What would make my tank more "Group Friendly" in the near future. I just did my first partnering today with a scrapper and it was a lot of fun. He helped me kill Frostfire, which I could not do on my own.
I am pretty casual in my play, playing a bit here and there, moreso very late at night PST. I play on the first server too, Victory? So if anyone would like to partner up, shoot me a message here and I will seek you out. I should be level 12 next time I log in. Name: Agent Flashover
Thanks for any replies!
Your origin (Mutation) isn't really that important. It affects your starting contact, some of the first enemies you face, and possibly what kind of enemies will drop enhancements that you can use.
I'll second the advice given previously. Your Taunt power available in your secondary power set is more powerful than the pool power selections, such as Challenge, Provoke, etc.
Temporary Invulnerability, is more powerful than the passive Resist Damage. Nothing wrong with having both. You can see the Detailed Power Info by clicking near the top of the screen in your Enhancement Management Screen. That will show you the enhanced and unenhanced numbers, so you can see for yourself.
Also, you should pick up Unyielding soon. This power is your resistance to sleep, stun, hold, immobilize, etc, and not having it will become increasingly annoying, and dangerous.
Also, www.paragonwiki.com is a distillation of player knowledge and very useful. You can find detailed write-ups of the powers there.
Movement powers are fun (especially flying!), and convenient, but they do take up power choices. If you have a temporary power from the 5-10 or 10-15 Safeguard missions, you can hold off travel power selections even longer.
I'm on Victory as well, and know the Invulnerability Tree pretty good, and have some limited experience with fire melee, so I might be able to help you.
Post your questions here, if they are about the game generally. You may wish to peruse the Tanker Forums below for more detailed infomation, and many, many varying opinions.
You were smart to post here. We like helping people! -
I have a different suggestion.
Instead of the goal of "50!", how about the goal of "fun!"
Have fun. Levels happen.
If you aren't having fun at 39, I'm not sure what a 50 will get you.
Plenty of folks switch between characters, and make new ones constantly. For them, it's part of their fun.
If by 39, your inclination is to make another hero or villain, then go for it. Your subscription, your decision on what fun is. -
It'd be a nice option when using a respec to decide how far back you wanted to go.
-
Mako is a Pirate Ninja Mutant Shark.
Scirocco is a Whiny Emo Dress-Wearing Cutter.
I know who wins that!
Or, as I like to say while I Trow Fishie! "You know I'm a villain because I throw SHARKS at people!"
I also like going "OM NOM NOM NOM" while Bruce chews on folks.
And Bile Spray is fun to hit allies with "by accident". If your graphics are high enough, you actually see liquid dripping out of their mouths while they hork up the fish guts. -
I find it useful. I haven't generated enough Day Job time for that temp power yet.
-
Yes, the free time stacks.
But, you can only benefit from one edition per account. If you have the GvE Edition applied, attempting to apply another GvE code to your account won't get you anything.
Also, keep the serial codes you buy. Print them out, write them down, and keep them in a safe place. If you forget your passwords, or somebody figures them out, the serial codes are a way for customer service to verify that you are who you say you are! -
Oh, I'd take it too, but it's unlikley they will offer it. It's usually done by games starting up, needing cash infusions, or proof that the game is profitable and viable.
-
Well, you start in Mercy, but no one's determined what happened before that. You very well could have been stuck in the Zig, and that ***** Jenkins busted you out.

Bwa ha ha! So, by giving you +rep, we're griefing you?
