What do you regret not doing in Game?

I wish I had taken the time to learn how to use the Mission Architect system. I had an idea for a storyline based on a bad pun. It involved the Tsoo kidnapping a child they believed to be one of their former leaders reincarnated. The title? "A Boy Named Tsoo." (with apologies to the late, great Johnny Cash)

Winning a PvP ladder with my team, dUmb. WE got 2nd/3rd in a few but we never got the top spot.

Still the most fun PvP MMO I've ever seen and easily the only reason I am still logging in.

I regret that I did not get more 'Master of...' badges. I gave up on them early on because doing master runs with pugs was such a PITA. I did spend a fair amount of time over the last month or so that I played participating in leagues that were trying for some of the harder itrial badges, and had a lot of fun doing so. Makes me wish that I'd spent more time doing that type of challenging content, though I also wish that the rewards for some of those difficult badges had been more tangible.

I also kinda regret that I didn't decorate my base better. Every time I opened that editor, I suddenly got the urge to go do anything else.

I regret that I haven't played for the past three years and missed a sizable chunk of the content released during that time.

Doom.

Yep.

This is really doom.

Not making more friends when the ones I had gradually stopped playing. Meeting people and making friends doesn't really come easily for me.

Goodbye, I guess.

ROFL!!! Super title for an AE mission!! Too bad it never happened. Maybe if CoH comes back, it can.

I don't know that I regret much of anything, as I had fun with whatever I was doing; however, in hindsight, it likely would have been better had I had fewer alts and focused a bit differently, such as learning melee toons, rather than playing every flavor of blaster. I regret not getting my 1st dom and later 1st Rogue, Mrs Frostfire to 50 (maybe I still will) and properly IO'ed and badged (also costumed.) But I wanted that toon to be "perfect" and so I delayed not realizing time was against me. I wish I'd done more redside content, for it was well written, but the heroic blueside appealed more. (I did get to do all of Praetoria, including recently First Ward and Night Ward - and really liked the new cave maps (or newly dressed maps) and the Eternal Prison map (Black Queen arc).

I guess my biggest regrets at this point is gonna be that I've not done any i24 beta - i was waiting until it was incorporated into the game - but given my attachment to my current characters I don't see myself playing Beta, even tho the new Skulls arcs and powersets and power pools sound so awesome!

By now, I've done pretty much everything I wanted to. I've gotten at least one of every AT to 50 and IOed them. I've done every TF/SF, and I'm sure at least 80% of the missions. I thought of using Ouro to do every single mission, but since the old missions are all the same from a mechanical standpoint (go here, kill everyone, click glowie) I could get the same effect from reading the text on Paragonwiki.

I've been on plenty of fun teams. I've soloed dozens of AVs, heroes and GMs. I've been in several fun supergroups, and started a few of my own, mostly because I didn't want to be bothered by SG invites. Twice I logged in to find I was the leader of a big SG because the leader had dropped out.

I played dozens of AE arcs, and wrote several, which were received well. I wrote a thread reviewing other people's AE arcs. I wrote a guide. I submitted a bug and had it fixed. (ok it was just a typo). I tried badging, and at one point had the most badges on any Warshade.

There's really not much I regret not doing. I wish I had spent more time here on the forums, and I wish I had used the Beta name-reserve to take "Mary Sue". The possibilities would have been endless. Oh, and I never ERP-ed, but there's still two weeks left... (bow chicka wow wowwwwwwww..)

A more prominent regret is not doing more taskforces/etc. I was mostly a solo guy, and only in the last month or so found out I could do taskforces as a free player. Not being able to send tells also hindered my efforts to get into groups being formed for them at times.
A lot of these in here are still doable... especially the leveling up.

I'm currently at 30 with my water/ice blaster, and it's been mainly solo mission running. There's been a couple of teams here and there, and any TF I can get on, I'm in, but it's not even a grind, as I've been going through the FW/NW arcs, and doing them at my own pace.

It's not grinding, but... I'm having a fun time doing the content I've not done yet, when The Project of Brawling Humilator was taking up the first part of the year, and then Thing of Bigness and the IO/Incarnate march, before this plug pulling thing happened...

So I'm catching up. AND levelling up. Chillsea will be my first ever 50 Blaster, and my 8th 50 overall, all of whom are part of Pinnacle.

And when she's done? I'll maybe do some catching up on Redside to see some of that content I missed/leveled out of.

And do the Wesley Phipps missions... And maybe finally get around to the Television ones...

So do it. Just do it. Pretend you're in a Nike commercial.

And I regret NOTHING in regards to CoH except not having enough money to have bought CoH from the grubby mitts of NCSoft in the first place, before they even TRIED to buy it/sponsor it from Cryptic, thereby ensuring that this dark day of Dec 1,2012 never happens.

If only there were a real-life Ouroborus system I could use to achieve that.

Mike

I regret not fraps'ing more. Especially pre i13 pvp. Alot of the speed records pre incarnates would have been awesome to have recorded as well.

- Not rolling concept characters because I was busy looking at numbers
- Abandoning the game for 2-3 years, school took too much time and I was short on $
- Being lazy, getting on and doing nothing getting myself bored
- Never done a base raid back in the time, loved the idea
- Too shy at some point, I failed to meet new friends in CoX
- Enjoying the game after my initial friends quit
- Spending too much time re-rolling characters
- Haven't done some TFs/SFs

Was just starting to get back on CoX for real and enjoying myself with a couple of people I met recently, I enjoyed every moment and I was having a lot of fun, I would just get on daily and make some team for a TF, missions or whatever, the game was living again to me.

Then those koreans came in a Rikti-like ship and dropped an Arch-Villain "Psy" whom destroyed our world. - I know I know the joke is just bad! But anyways, I couldn't enjoy the game too much knowing it would be gone shortly and I wouldn't be able to get back on it again, broke my heart.

Not doing a Hami raid since the original incarnation (other than the Lady Grey version)
Not getting a controller to 50 (eh not really, I hate them, but love Doms)
Not getting any epic ATs to 50
Only being in two active SGs through CoH history

If any have a hami raid on their list, Virtue still has been doing one every Saturday at 6pm eastern. There will be one next Saturday if you want to cross it off your wishlist and have or can copy a high level character to Virtue.

I was just about to post that Starkindred is planning to lead one more raid night on Freedom on 11/30, CoP/Hami/Rikti MS, starting at 6PM EST. If people just need Hami and can make one of the Virtue raids then that might be better, because I don't know what turnout will be like on the last day. Otherwise I think Freedom has stopped doing regular weekend raids, or at least I didn't notice any activity last night.

The Water/Ice Manip blaster really is nice and has good synergy. I got mine to 50 fairly recently so he's lucky to have Alpha, Judgement and Interface (T4, T3, and T2 respectively) mostly because Incarnate trials were still running regularly on Justice when he got to 50 so the character got to do a couple of BAFs. Without the proposed Issue 24 changes to all blaster powersets, the water blaster would likely be my favorite, not merely for the animations, but for the ease and effectiveness in play (no KB for melee toons to complain about, and self healing Dehydrate. Woot!)

-Wasting too much time on PeaceBringers. They still suck.
-Deleting over a dozen 50's to make server slot room. I should've just transferred them to dead servers to make room.
-PVPing more pre-i13. I didn't initially enjoy PVP, then fell in love with it, then watched in horror as one issue broke it forever. Never did understand why devs just didn't revert those changes when they realized their "fixes" drove down the PVP population rather than help it.
-Marketeering more. I did it some, but never had the patience for it. Was a rush when it worked though.
-Meeting that one player for the RL drink that was offered.....and then seeing their picture on Facebook later (sigh).
-wasting far too much time on these forums.

Teaming. I'm extremely, painfully shy, and I'm a concept character builder whose approach to numbers is to shout "never tell me the odds" like Han Solo, and I just figured with a combination like that, people who are really driven to max out their builds and master the game mechanics would never have any patience with me. Plus, I'd played a little bit of WoW and XBox Live, and the online culture in those kinds of games just wasn't for me at all, so I focused on CoH the way I'd focus on a single-player RPG, except one with a huge variety of story themes and playing styles to choose from.

But I have never, ever had a bad teaming experience. Yuki ran the first Terra Volta trial, fought several Giant Monsters and helped a few people with missions, Shade ran the Numina and Ms. Liberty TF's and helped a team take down Eochai during the Halloween event, and tonight I led my first TF as New World Daughter and the Katie Hannon TF (which succeeded due to the awesome team who responded, not any uber leadership on my part ).

And they all went wonderfully. No arguing, no name-calling, none of the "what are you doing without IO sets, gtfo" responses I'd braced for: everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and patient with me if I faceplanted or just plain got lost on the map. I've never had a bad teaming experience at all in this game, and the credit goes entirely toward a very friendly and helpful player base that's just looking to have fun. I shouldn't have been so afraid to reach out to people, and I hate that it took the game shutting down, and maybe losing a culture that's unique among MMO's, to realize that.
