Fox to lose Daredevil movie rights if they...
marvel is making better movies than Fox did with superheroes
and it would be great to allow crossovers
but I care more about DD then Silver Surfer by far
a gritty DD, Kingpin, Electra, Bullseye, the Hand - would be awesome
It would be better if Fox losses all the movie rights to the Marvel properties they have.

Surfer and Galactus play into Marvel's current movie plans far more than DD

Why reboot DD?! They could just sequal it with a new actor!
They're going to reboot FF already? I can hear the complaints already.
If they're going to reboot, I'd prefere to see them go back to Marvel's control and then just become part of the whole Marvel Movie Universe.
Also, with the deadlines approaching, I fear we'll get lousy movies that are made purely to get made to keep the rights.

I dunno about why the last DD movie was SOOOOO lousy, but....well, it was
Probably Ben A$$fleck.

If they reboot the FF I wonder if they'd use the same motion capture thing they did for the Hulk on the Thing. It'd be kind of cool to see what a CGI version of the more contemporary Thing would look like...

But....I like the idea of the Marvel offer there. I'd totally suffer through another Fox Daredevil movie if it meant that Surfer and Galactus reverted to Marvel |

Now Electra and Catwoman, those were really lousy movies. The two Fantastic Four films were a mixed bag, more bad than good, with the "comic" tone, a silly story and the poor casting of Gruffudd and Alba and McMahon. Evans and Chiklis were pretty good, and it had the best Stan Lee cameo where he played an actual character from the comics.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

The Director's Cut is quite a bit better than the original release. It still has some significant flaws (like the playground scene), but it is definitely better, and the Director's Cut moves DD into a mid-tier Comic Book movie.

I don't understand why a studio would try so hard to keep the rights to a character when they have failed to make a good movie with said character. In order to keep the rights, they just quickly throw together whatever they can by the deadline.
Why? If it's a property they can't use well, and they only use because a deadline is approaching, then why bother? I just don't get why they want to keep it.

Well, we know that Punisher and Elektra have reverted to Marvel along with some of the other one-off non-Marvel Studios movies. There's also solid evidence that Sony were actively working with Marvel to include the Oscorp building from Amazing Spiderman into the Avengers skyline near Stark Tower (this only didn't go ahead because the artist on board who had worked on the Avengers for buildings and so on...an environment designer, I think the title is...was committed to another project).
I very heavily doubt Fox will get a Daredevil movie up in time to beat any deadline, and Marvel will happily reclaim the Surfer and Galactus. In turn, it's going to put huge pressure on the FF reboot (which hasn't even been cast, to the best of my knowledge) to either jump on board the shared universe concept or try and risk standing alone. It's clear that people responded big time to Marvel's shared universe concept and studios would be foolish not to get a slice of that pie.

Yes.... Daredevil wasnt that bad in the light of all.. Affleck shows a good blind man. Somthing that is hard to act. And the Kingpin although black was very nice acted. But I do advise to only see the directors cut. Then only Elektra sucks in there...
I like Fox to lose all Marvel characters rights as soon as possible and let Marvel go on with their movie verse....
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

OK, so some of the non-Marvel Studios movies suck. But some are OK or even somewhat good like X-men First Class. It is probably better for the X-men universe to be separated from the rest of the Marvel-verse.
Daredevil was never a "favorite" character of mine. There are just too many other interesting characters. He's fairly weak on the super-powered scale. He's limited geographically to the Hell's Kitchen area. In spite of this, I found the movie mostly entertaining -- Like many superheroes, he is a play on stereotypes; a blind criminal defense lawyer who secretly has superior agility, can see things nobody else can see and beats up on criminals. I liked the casting of Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin, as there really isn't anyone else with the acting ability AND physicality to play that role, and the change of race didn't bother me at all. (MCD is currently in the hospital, I believe.)
I would not mind seeing a re-boot, as long as it is good. And that's the key -- keep the tone serious and let the little bits of humor come from the characters (like quips) and not from the situations (like the stupid playground scene).

oh god not another DD movie. But on the other hand, marvel movies have been good lately and maybe they can do same for DD and kind of diminish the memory of the first, I guess it can be called an attempt. It kind of worked for the Hulk when they remade it again.

All of the Avengers related movies of the past few years (Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Incredible Hulk, Avengers) are "Marvel movies"....made in-house by Marvel.
And while I'm biased against the X-men movies...it's the only property that I tend to geek-out over continuity changes (mainly because I feel they're ham-fisted, and often done just for the sake of doing them, and then they can't even bother keeping their own internal continuity straight), I really would be much happier if Marvel got the rights back to all their characters.
But for the short term, I'll totally be content with them extending the start deadline on a DD movie in exchange for Surfer and Galactus...they're sorta needed for where the next Avengers movie is headed.

I really should do something about this signature.
I liked the FF movies, actually.
I liked Spiderman 3 as well. Dunno why all the hate with FF and Spiderman 3.
The reboot Spiderman was ok.....felt WAY too soon, and Parker was a bit angsty for me.
I thought the Hulks were ok, nothing fantastic. Though, the Avengers Hulk was AWESOME!!!! (Avengers did rock!)
Elektra and DD were crap.
LOVED X1, X2, and the reboot X-men. I thought X3 was pretty crappy....it could have gone a lot better. And having Collosus and Shadow Cat as main members of the team, then treating them more like cameos. Ugh.
Although, i'm one of the few that like the more comic-booky-cheesy 90s Batman movies vs the Christian Need-A-Lozenge Bale movies. That reminds me, I should see the new Batman movie "soon."

I disliked the Fantastic Four movies, but they've never really been one of the comics, as it were. Didn't mind Daredevil, but definitely wouldn't mind it getting back to Marvel. Liked X-1 and X-2, loathe, despise, and hate with a passion X-3. Disliked Wolverine. Went in expecting to HATE First Class, ended up really liking it. Liked Spidey 1 and 2, disliked Spidey 3. Didn't expect to like the reboot, ended up liking it more then the first two movies. Loved Ironman 1, eh about Ironman 2. Loved Captain America, liked Thor, liked the new Hulk. LOVED THE !@#$ OUT OF THE AVENGERS.
Er, right, contribute to the thread! I hope to the WELL OF FURIES that they don't crap out a movie just to mantain the rights to it.

Aye....they're not really interested in the well-being of the property, or the artistic merit...simply if they can keep making money off of it. Which is why i want all the Marvel characters to go back to Marvel. They at least have an interest in the properties beyond simple dollar signs.

I figure Marvel will try to make the best movie possible to at least sell more comics, and likely draw interrest to possible cartoons and disney attractions.
