Unfortunately I can't find system specs for either CoS or Unity so I can't tell you what they are but most browser games have low specs so you'll probably be able to run it.
    Thanks for the response.

The game actually looks pretty cool. However, I have a few questions about some of the discussions going on here. Forgive me for being programming illiterate.

What is a "browser" game? What makes it different than any other game? Are there any real advantages/disadvantages to it? If I can play CoH, will my graphics card be able to handle CoS (I am on the lower settings in CoH)?

With the fall of CoH, I had decided that I might be done with MMO's. It just sucks that all the time spent with my characters will be erased. The only other MMO I have ever played was Auto Assault which was...less than good.

City of Steam actually looks really fun, so I don't know. Maybe.

    Where are you?

    Pretty cool. Added myself.
  4. I haven't read the whole thread, nor do I really know what to say, but I did want to say something and this seemed as good a thread as any.

Thank you. Thank you to the devs and to the players.

I had never played an MMO prior to this game. I was strictly a console gamer, and a major one at that. I remember thinking that the idea of paying for the same game every month was ludicrous. My friend wound up getting me to try the game out on his beta account. I was hooked and a month after launch, I got my own account. I've been playing ever since. My console gaming has all but stopped at this point. In the end, I've saved far more money playing this game than buying new console games every week.

But monetary expenditures is not just what I'm thankful for. I just wanted to say, as a guy who's played far too many games from all sorts of genres, that this is the best game I have ever played. The best. There are many reasons, I suppose. The devs are always fun, and the community was a blast. I love superheroes, games and creating my own characters. This game fulfilled all my needs and then some.

I went to the last Player Summit. I had a good amount of fun. I even sat at the same table as Positron, and won some headphones! It was so strange and refreshing to be a part of such a great community, all based around an awesome game.

This, to me, is the end of an era. I realize that I was never one of the most active members of the fora, but I was always here. It really feels like the end of high school, with everyone saying their goodbye's and moving on to who knows where. As for me, I have no clue where I'll wind up. Maybe one of the other hero MMO's, maybe not. Probably not.

I could ramble on with favorite moments, screenshots and just general reminiscing, but I'll just stop and repeat my sentiment.

Thank you devs. Thank you for the best game I have ever played, and some of the best times I've had as a gamer. I will miss this game dearly. I will miss the community. I will miss it all.

Thank you devs. I really don't know what else to say.
  5. The CoT revamp was one of the most misguided things this game had ever thrown at me. I seriously, to this day, have no idea why they thought that was in any way good. Strip everything away that made them special, then put bland tights on them. They looked like a lvl 1 PC at game launch, created by someone who just wanted to play and didn't care about the look. It was terrible. After they redid them, they looked great again. I'm perfectly happy with the CoT we have in game now.

Which brings me to the Skulls. They look like Skulls. They look like better Skulls, actually. I have no idea why the OP thinks this is an issue, or how it can even compare to the horribleness of the initial CoT redesign.

I suppose it's like the people that still bring up extreme examples and try to connect them to current issues. "They are changing Corrupter's Rain of Fire? This is exactly like ED, and people will leave in droves!"*

*No one I know has said that, but the sentiment has been flung around on way too many occasions.
  6. I don't understand why a studio would try so hard to keep the rights to a character when they have failed to make a good movie with said character. In order to keep the rights, they just quickly throw together whatever they can by the deadline.

Why? If it's a property they can't use well, and they only use because a deadline is approaching, then why bother? I just don't get why they want to keep it.
  7. At the Player Summit I put my suggestion for Super Speed Melee in. It didn't get picked, but it's something I've always wanted.

Also, Eye Beam would be awesome. I even like the way someone a few posts back wrote it out.

It is. I went with Dual Pistols/Pain. Really enjoyed my character.
  9. Finally got to see this movie. Loved it.

One thing that I really liked that hasn't been mentioned yet is that we really get to see Jim Gordon in this. Ambushing his attackers, taking charge of the situation, standing up to anyone. I was happy to see him show why he deserves to be where he is.

    To each their own.
  11. Saw it. Liked it a lot.

Definitely better than "All-Star Superman" which is, to date, the only one of these animated films I just didn't like.

My wife liked it also. Though she got a bit worried at the end with what Superman was doing. Since I had read the comic I knew what was happening. It was still cool to watch though, and a bit scary with the ease at which he COULD do stuff if he wanted.
  12. Look, I'll laugh at absurd things. In fact, I love my internet memes. They just rarely get old for me. Fry not sure about stuff still cracks me up, and those Rage comic faces cause a stern guffaw to escape whenever they are present. However, I'm with Zombie Man on this one. At this point, people took the idea of random humor and went for broke. It's so unconected and...just...there. It's...I don't know. Nothing?

Also, I have long hated the irritating videos that I have to wade through to see what I went to Youtube to see. My least favorite being people that actually do show a clip from a show, but replace the music with some less-than-good band they like.
  13. Nope. I only get TPB's. Individual comics cost more, (depending on the price of the TPB and how long the story arc was), have ads all throughout, and generally are of lesser quality paper. Also, I don't like to read part of an arc, then wait another month to see the next part. Nor do I enjoy hunting down all the different pieces if it's some big cross-over event.
  14. My main character is my tri-form Warshade. Has been since they were released. He is also, to date, the only character I've taken 1 to 50 without playing any other characters. Usually I take breaks from characters and play others, but I loved my Warshade so much I just couldn't stop.

My secondary main (is that a thing?) is my human Peacebringer. Also greatly enjoy him. My 2 Khledians are the only ones that are getting the Hybrid slot at the moment. That is to say, they are the only ones I intend to take farther.

Oh, and neither of my Kheldians are actually Kheldians. One is an angel caught between Heaven and Hell, the other is basically a space cop. And together, they fight crime!

Why go through all the trouble of more cooldown timers and percentages of health when you could just spread the iXP out better. The only problem as I see it is that almost all the iXP is at the front. I got 17% on the first part of the trial. After beating it, I had gotten about 20% total. That means the rest of the trial got me 3%. We fought more than 3 AV's, so that tells me that I'm not even getting 1% iXP for an AV.

As far as all the discussion about difficulty, I have to agree with those that are familiar with this tune. Every iTrial that has been released is "too hard" and the poor pugs will never be able to complete it. I've run the full trial twice, first with 23 people, then 14. Both were successful. In fact, neither had any issues at all. We just plowed through the thing. And yes, both teams were pugs.

I really put the Mag on the same level as BAF. A few sacks of HP to go through, and that's about it. The Mag has a couple of tricks, but only a couple. As far as the more recent iTrials, The Mag is pretty straight forward. In fact, I'd think The Mag would be run right alongside the BAF and Lambda once more people figure it out. There are more enemies to defeat up front in The Mag versus the BAF, but The Mag doesn't have the forced 5 minute prisoner escape. But, that's just my thought about it.
  16. ...Wow.

Throughout the years certain forumites have claimed that if the devs gave us something for free, that did not interfere with anything in any way, people would still complain about it.

I would chuckle and move along at that thought, thinking it absurd.

    I was apparently naive.

    Wow.

    Sharks Fin

At the Player Summit, Fish Costume was one of the ideas picked by the devs. The girl talked about having fish parts and such, and it got an okay response. The devs said they were keeping all the cards and could very well make some of the other suggestions.

Given that we already have a bunch of animal costume pieces, and we have a water set coming up, I wouldn't be surprised to see some fish/aquatic parts added.
  18. ...but who wants to mention Superman Returns? The less that movie has to do with anything outside of itself, the better.
  19. Why can't we just look forward to both, and hope that both movies are of good quality and lead to further exploration of comic licenses? Why must there be sides taken and lines drawn? I don't find the question interesting in the slightest. I find it irritating. I keep wondering why Hollywood thinks the way it does, but then I see the populace at large concerned with the same nonesense.

I am by no means a Marvel fan, but I have greatly enjoyed all the Avenger character movies that have lead up to this point. I'm a massive Batman fan, who can't wait to see Dark Knight Rises. I am excited for both. I do not know who will "win" at the box office, nor do I care, as that does not alter the quality of either movie in any way. I simply hope they are both good movies, and are awarded with ticket sales for being as such.

Sorry for being maybe a little too serious about the thread. I'm as guilty as any with nerdy discussions. I just get tired of the insults and insinuations that this slippery slope inevitably leads to.

    Oh, wait!

Batman hahaha....I find Batman offensive and all the stories written about him since the dark knight to the present is rubbish with a few exceptions like when they killed Jason Todd....he is just a man...i like to keep some logic when i read these stories if not i might as well read cartoon stories about bugs bunny and such where it's possible for the rabbit to beat the hunter......Seriously...Batman vs Superman for instance.... ridiculous idea, First of...Mr Wayne is no where close to the same level as SUPERMAN WOULD BE if he was at all...If Superman is the human in evolution Batman would be the spider monkey....and how likely is it for a spider monkey to out smart or beat not just a normal human but the very pinnacle of a human.....just pathetic. I normally pay no attention to rubbish or nonconstructive thinking but this just rubbed me the wrong way.....

Anyone who support this Batman junk is illogical and offensive to a rational mind.

BATMAN IS A RUNT, written by and for morons !!!

What was the question again O.o ?
I see someone has already arrived at the bottom. What insulting, unthinking tripe is this?

    Missable Powers

I realized long ago that none of my Bots on my MM do massive damage, just a lot of little damage all at once. As such, I took all my attacks (all 3!) and slotted them up. I still enjoy my Pulse Rifle, and the knowledge that enemies are going down that much quicker as I am adding to the DoT. The AoE is especially helpful.

My Archery Blaster is slotted for range. Lots of it. In fact, she is the only character I have where the "range as defense" arguement can hold up, and her super long distance snipe is a big part of that.

I always take my single target immobilize. Can be stacked with the AoE Immobilize, if needs be, or just slotted with Immobilize and Recharge. Lock down tougher baddies for Rain powers, placed powers, or just so they stop running up and hitting me/a teammate.

I suppose I just like having as many tools as I can get on any given character and actually put them to use. It's probably why my main is a tri-form Warshade.

Anyway, not trying to be "that guy" in this thread. Carry on with the "worthless" powers list.
  21. I was never a big "Star Wars" fan, but I want every item on that list.
  22. I could have easily had this same problem. When I got a Catalyst I had no idea what that was. I almost claimed it on my main just because, especially since I got no information from hovering over it. Just an item in my email and how many I had, nothing more. Fortunately, I headed here to the forums to figure out what it was.
  23. I have purchased my tickets. I am rather excited as I have never been to any comic/video game event before. I am curious about a few things in regards to what I just purchased, though.

I bought 2 tickets (via will-call) since my wife will be coming with me. However, I was only able to select 1 shirt size and 1 meal option. Will we be able to get 2 different sizes during the event? Will she be able to pick a different meal, if she so desires?

Looking at the hotel, the cheapest room is $109 a night. What is the deal attendees get? (Just asking in case someone else has already found out).
