Burst of Speed sounds like a Nightcrawler-esque bamf attack. Pretty awesome, and I can't wait to see it in action!
Actualy this isnt a blast set but a manipulation set....so not a primary set but a secondary set...


So it make me wonder what Primary sets they will come up with next as well...

You might be right maybe they will do something with swords...hopefuly primary and secondary ones so there isnt tons of re-draw....I could see some super sword primary atatcks happening....

Ala like the Animes: "Fate Stay Night" or maybe "Campione"

Those would be really interesting effects....i guess i am just a fan of watching 100s of swords pincussioning the enemy though.

Well there is a reason. Support sets are used by Defenders, Masterminds, Corruptors, and Controllers. Blast sets are used by Defenders, Blasters, and Corruptors. Defense and Melee are both used by Stalkers, Scrappers, Brutes, and Tanks. So those sets would get more developement than Assault (dominator), Manipulation (Blaster) and Pet (Mastermind.) They can please three to four times as many crowds by working on some opposed to others.

Not fun, but it makes business sense.

Eagle's Claw is not in Martial Assault. Its melee attacks are Thunder Kick, Spinning Kick, and Dragon's Tail. Its tier 9 is Explosive Shuriken - 12 second recharge, 1.67 second cast time, 80 foot range, scale 2.28 Fire damage with a 100% chance for 5 ticks of .05 scale fire damage in a 10 foot sphere.

Thunder kick strikes me as a bad power to port to the dom set, since its the worst DPA attack in martial arts and its a fast recharge, T1 attack - I would have expected you to port the tier 2, storm kick instead, just like dark assault ported smite. Even if you up the recharge/damage on thunder kick I think the storm kick animation is a lot more fun.

You know I usually don't like Blasters at all because "they just do damage" and nothing really to them...

After watching the video with Burst of Speed....now the set may make Blasters fun to me....hmm..

1.) Arbiter Hawk is a sucker for Chains and Teleporting powers....what about Teleporting Chains?! Or a Chain Teleport power?!

2.) How about replacing Dimension Shift with a chained version of Propel...or...chained version of Wormhole or a new chain teleport power!?

IIRC, it's Thunder Kick in name only. It has a new (and shorter from the looks of it) animation and presumably better DPA.

THe only things that dissapoint me are:

No Crane Kick. I like kicking people in the jugular.

Throw Sand seems like an anticlimactic T9, even though its probably very useful.

That's what I originally wanted Vorpal Judgement to be - teleporting you four or five times and doing a PBAoE on each hop. Unfortunately that's impossible, but it was a fun idea, and I think Tunnel Rat and Honey Badger sold it really well through VFX.

I really love Dimension Shift, as unpopular of a stance as that may be. It's one of the craziest, most powerful powers in the game, but only for the kind of player who really gets their enjoyment out of subtle finesse, rather than through big numbers or straightforward victories.

Am I the only in thinking that MA should be a blaster primary and MC be the blaster secondary to create a full theme?

Well, at least that's how I play :P

--And they prefaced that these two powers are some of the most requested by the community... while i wont disagree with MC for blasters... but I thought for DOMs Ilusion Control was the most requested-at least form a proliferation standpoint.

p.s. dont get me wrong, i always love getting new powers, and these look fun. cant wait!

you know what? I'm really tempted to make an RP group based off of the a:tla or a:tlok universes...It would be redside because I kind of don't like blueside, but if someone could make the blueside SG then I could possibly make the redside one...of course only when i24 hits....

I haven't seen the powers yet, but here's my first impression.

- Inner Will if published as is, sounds like a power to skip. I don't want a power that has a conditional usage. Powers like those need to really wow me or have larger benefits like Vengeance. I'd rather use Aid Self or have another attack.
- Throw Sand = Touch of Fear. (Oh look...skip.)
-I'd like to see Eagle's Claw as the T9 attack. To match the other T9's the other secondaries have and it looks sexy to use.

So something like this:

T1: Web Grenade
T2: Storm Kick
T3: Cobra Strike
T4: Dragon's Tail
T5: Reach for the Limit
T6: ???
T7: Reaction Time
T8: Burst of Speed

Notice it's similar to Thorny Assault's powers.

SHRUIKEN/THROWING BLADES BLAST SET!!!! XD


and illusion probs wont happen for doms anytime soon. They're wicked busy with new sets for a while [working on Wind Blast for me ;D eh? eh? eh?]

but for illusion to be ported for doms i'd suggest: the pbaoe group invis turning into a aoe-patch-slow-with-chance-to-confuse, the fear-pet-patch becoming a facing cone fear with low "illusory" dmg, and Phantom Army [the big reason it's not ported to doms? or is it the Phantasm?] becoming a different sort of pet similar to the shades from haunt, summoning three pets that arent as invincible and call them Phantom Horde or something? ... or even just extending recharge and lowering dmg a bit to balance? :/ idk but it could be altered as a set as much as dark maisma was to become darkness affinity...

anyway

what set should i choose for my new dominator? AAACK have to go save names!!!

Web Grenade? Ew, I much prefer this. Don't forget that this is a blaster secondary, a PBAoE KB is a great thing to have solo. And Inner Will looks like one of the main draws to the set.

Rats I was wondering if Burst of Speed may lead to some sort of Nightcrawler "teleport in and attack and then teleport out" type of power but after reading that...maybe not :| heh

Oh I know...I'll be here asking for it to be changed all the time too

I like cool/unique powers (and power sets) but I have a very hard time finding a good use for DS (in the 50+/incarnate trial game).

I like it! However, it kind of brings me back to, "okay if you want us to use it like that..." "why can't the recharge time be like 10-20 seconds (after you un-toggle DS)?"


I know you can also use DS to "tank" Lord Recluse (ie. keep him occupied) in the STF but again, unless you have 3-4 Grav. Controllers then you can't keep LR in DS forever.


I can use DS like what you mentioned (for the Keyes' iTrial; protect people in the green targeting circle) but again, the oblit. beam happens every 20 seconds (?) so I can only do use it like that once every 3 Oblits. (roughly).



If DS could phase AVs in iTrials that would help. I brought up using it on Chimera in the Mag. iTrial so that we could take out Shadow Hunter/Nega Pendragon but...again Chim isn't phased in DS...he continues to kill peeps
