This is very good news, and i'm glad they have prioritized this. still want alt animations for several attacks, particularly the fighting pool moves, but this certainly makes that a much more easily accomplished task.

the only thing that i can see as a negative, and i stress this is the best possible kind of negative to have, is that a number of these 5th powers strike em as things i will want on some of my 50s with already tight builds, I see myself spending long hours with the somewhat unintuitive respec function.

still, thats not a bad problem to have, so much good stuff is coming that I will have to make some choices. so yeah, insert funny animated gif here, this is very good news.

There are obviously some powers with animation issues (squid kick?). However, I have a hunch that for future shapeshifters, they may be enabling/barring powers on a case-by-case basis, rather than a blanket pool ban.

This could apply retroactively to keldians, and even other shapeshift powers, such as hover board.

I really should do something about this signature.

Fantastic news! I thought for sure they'd try to charge us extra for this feature. Very happy to be surprised! Hopefully, they'll throw in some alternate animations for pool powers somewhere down the road.

Now that this can be done, I personally would pay for alternate animations for some pool powers. Lightening for hasten instead of fire, I would pay for that.

In general I have no issue with paying for alternate power animations at all.

I suspect actual alternate animations will be a later addition. The UI was the big hurdle, as I understand it, and now that that's done, the rest will be just a matter of the animation team having a little free time to work on it.

That would not be alternate animations, more like alternate FX and more likely to happen.

I'd love to see all the existing path auras as potential Super Speed FXs for one.

Would love to see thematic elemental particles for all pool powers. The basics (currently all seem to have an energy theme) Electric, Fire, Ice/snow and darkness (not just dark energy but Dark armor like thendrils.)

They are going to make a killing on respects and aligments in the Paragon market when I24 comes out.

NCSOFT may take away our servers and beloved dev team, but they can't break our spirit and community. with all your power, NCSOFT, your victory will be bitter-sweet. I, personally will be there to laugh at you when you face-plant into the ground.

I think the "You can't change the color because of lore" thing is basically a temporary way of explaining it until they can get the tech and time lined up for it. The biggest roadblock for Epics is the same we already have for Granite...customizing shape shifting powers.

There isn't any reason they can't do most of the powers for HEATs or VEATs, besides time constraints. But would you really want to customize the appearance of all the normal powers on the HEATs without being able to change your squid from purple/white to whatever color you want to match? And if they did VEATs but not HEATs, the "OMG DEVS HATE HEROES" crying will start. My guess is the delay on HEATs and VEATs come down to getting time to do it and getting the shapeshifting customization up and running. And Pools and Epic powers got higher priority because they would affect every player out there vs just the percentage of players using those 4 specific ATs.

I'm sure they are coming. And then MM and Pet customization after that. Just give it time.

Okay the entire two week rant about the Soul Mastery Soul Tentacles being White and all other dark powers being black, and arguing and flame warring with everyone. I was just kidding around. But really glad you are making this change for people that care about such things.
