Was there going to be an announcement about power pools?
Sam just likes a good forum explosion.
I do too, but being in the US, I at least had the July 4th fireworks to sate my appetite for big booms (though, to be honest, they were all pretty weak. once you blow up some of awe-inspiring stuff I got to blow up, everything else is just a faint echo. Virtual explosions online, though, are a different beast and haven't lost their fun yet.)

Just got notice on Twitter that this week's coffee talk internet broadcast (starting in about a half hour from my posting this) will be talking about Power Pools.
My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.

I knew about the others but not Tunnel Rat. I'm sad now. There goes my theory!
Tunnel Rat has moved over to the other project Paragon Studios is working on.
This is the same project that Second Measure, Black Scorpion, TheDarkWatcher, Hero 1, The Television and Noble Savage have moved to as well. There may be others that have shifted to the other project that I'm forgetting but these are the ones that come to mind immediately. |

Hmm, did you catch this year's San Diego fireworks? Only 15 seconds long, but a very intense 15 seconds.

This.
The changes will be: 1) Addition of a 5th power to all pools. 2) Overhaul and general buff of existing powers 3) Graphic customisation 4) New pools to buy in the market Since pools will be generally more powerful, it removes any pressure to nerf Hasten. When 5+ pools have "unskippable" powers, something has to be skipped... |
You are not the Oracle we were looking for.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

That seems about 100% right to me.

Nerfing Hasten would possibly kill this game knowing how many people rely on it...

Yes, but the prediction was about what would be announced today.
Wait how is that 50%?
We're getting this... We're kinda getting this too... maybe not every single power but many of them. Just look at what they did to Presence and Fighting. While they haven't confirmed this outright... they are being suspiciously hush hush with their "we can't talk about it right now" chatter whenever it comes up. It's likely we're gonna see this finally. I'll give the benefit of the doubt. Sorcery... 'nuff said. That seems about 100% right to me. |
PRAF was only 50% correct since they did NOT announce any graphics customization and they did NOT announce any new power pools (bought in the market or free for all).
The only two that WERE announced today that PRAF said would be announced were the first two of the four. That's 50%.
Sorcery was even more of a dodge than any possible graphics customization in that Synapse pretended he had never heard of it.
So no, they didn't announce Sorcery... 'nuff said.

Sometimes it's worth spending 3 hours hunting down every last part of the plans to get a weapon that can fire 1500 rounds in 30 seconds to the tune of Tchaikovsky's Overture from 1812. Oh, and the weapon does so much damage anything you use it on will melt within 2 seconds, so if you actually want to HEAR the music, you have to burn ammo (and a LOT of cash).
I only saw it on the news.
That's one of those "oops" moments that I find more enjoyable than sitting through 20 minutes of gradual detonations. |
On topic, I REALLY hope they buff Boxing and Kick (by giving kick a 6s recharge) so it's not a wasted pick, even on melee toons.

Since we don't have confirmation yet that we'll get customization in I24 or any additional pools (purchased or free) in I24, it's still only 50%.

If you have a chance, check out the PA. pyrotechnics association's world record attempt from may of this year, It was held locally so I actually got to see it, and it was pretty much a "finale" for nearly a half hour. Was very impressive.
I imagine issue 24 will be a bit more of a pool party than what we've seen so far. I wouldn't discount that post quite yet, fwiw.
I have a Blaster that makes extensive use of it, largely for extra stun potential.

From the way they worded the comments about Graphics Customization for Power Pools, I don't expect the percentage to rise above 75%.

...It's a 10% chance of a stun for like 6 seconds. The only character who slotted it for stun was my dominator, and he threw the Absolute Amazement set in it for MOAR RECHARGE. He promptly removed Boxing from his tray.

Looking forward to seeing the numbers on the new boost power in the presence pool.

Just because something isn't confirmed, doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. I never predicted anything about when something will be officially announced. I'm not even 100% certain they will all be part of the initial release of issue 24. But my predictions aren't based on magic or guesswork - they WILL happen* - and before issue 25 comes out.

From the way they (again) answered questions about the Sorcery pool, I don't expect that to be available in I24.
