I've been told that the choice here is purely based on personal preference, but I'm wondering if certain pets have any slight advantages in certain attributes, like accuracy, or damage resistance, or such...

What Lore pets did you guys pick?

A lot of people go for theme (an illusionist might take the phantoms for example).

If you right click on the various lore pets you can see different buffs available to each set, AM, AB, Fortitude, heals.... they are quite different. More information here including powers and damage chart http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_Slot_Abilities

Personally, I've tried many different lore pets and found I like the raw damage of Cimerorans as opposed to buffs/debuffs.

If I can't find a Lore pet that fits my characters concept (and a lot of them don't fit any of my concept, including my main/namesake) I just pick WarWorks because Vicki looks awesome

If all you care about is performance there isn't any reason to choose anything but Cimerorans. They'll double your AV soloing speed in that in the time it takes for your casually purpled SS/FA brute to solo one AV they'll duo their own AV. That said, I've started taking things that fit concepts simply because that *clink* *tink* *bonk* of death gets pretty tedious the hundredth time you've pulverized something with it. Just lately I've been enjoying the storm elementals: good aoe, passable single target, and their secondary effect stacks nicely with my elec scrapper's own.

I like Cimerorans on my Warshade for the extra damage, but I went with Storm Elementals on my Archery Blaster because they look cool and I like the -end (it goes well with Drain Psyche, E-Fences and Ion.) There are tons of reasons to take different Lore pets imo, a lot of them give really neat buffs. I have Seers on my Fire Blaster for the psi damage, but they also have a heal and Fortitude. I suggest checking out the info on all of them in game.

I took Robotic Drones on my main hero for concept reasons. And they're pretty cool with their strong attacks and -regen.

Otherwise, it really is all about concept. There isn't a ginormous difference among the various choices, IMO. Yes some of them are better in ST Damage, others excel at AoE and some have poor damage but use an exotic type like Psi. And of course, there is the buffing side of the tree... which has various ups and downs. But as far as I see it, it all is a wash more or less.

I went with Warworks on my main, firstly because it was only one of four choices available at the time, but also because it fit thematically. The high damage output doesn't hurt. I also have Cimerorans on a few toons for that reason.

I went with Storm mainly because it clicked with my two /Stormies. (and I'm sure I'll do the same with my third; as well as my Plant/Dark Troller)

And I think I went with Seers on my SS/WP Brute because it buffed both Def and Damage.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
*Arc #95278-Gathering the Four Winds -3 step arc; challenging - 5 Ratings/3 Stars (still working out the kinks)
*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

My VEAT uses the Arachnos T4 Lore, but has the WarWorks T4 too cause Arachnos wasn't added yet at that time. I am thinking about adding Cimeroans too, for solo TF/SF's. With just the Arachnos Lore i can shut down a door in BAF, i was even able to solo the North path on a smaller league without any issues.

1st i look for what fits my toons theme, and as a back up, i try to compliment my toon. 3rd option is always the heavy hitters.
My VEAT doesn't have a 3rd Lore set yet, cause he has 16 other T4 powers already.

I tend to pick by theme.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Hrm. I was always under the impression that the Longbow t4 ranked among the highest for DPS.

I might need to check out the Cimerorans now...

I pick by theme and/or complement of my toons' abilities as well and have at least picked each pet once.

The ones I prefer are:
Carnies (psi dmg and good looks)
Robotic Drones (-regen and tiny)
Polar Lights (aoe and tiny)
Warworks (vickie)
Clockwork (best looking robot set imo)

Actually, I tend to forget that my charas do have lore pets. But since the background story that links my charas together uses an interpretation of the wisp pet (from the veteran rewards), I tend to build the Polar Lights lore as long as the chara's own backstory doesn't call for a specific pet.

I find myself going time and again to robotic drones, just for concept. Just about any character can pull out a few drones they found/bought/built, it makes a lot more sense than all of a sudden having romans/seers/rularu/nemesis/etc. show up to help them.

That said, I like the fact that the radial shield drone gives its shield to the whole team, not just me. Also its heal is mixed with 'stimulant,' which actually protects from all status effects making it darned handy, especially for squishies.

I generally go for concept, but I also try to fit in the better DPS pets when I can. I don't really care about the buffs because they are not guaranteed, and of course Lore is only available so often.

A bit of an aside, I have two T3 Lores slotted (Rularuu and Warworks) and both of the LTs get stomped rather quickly. ACU lives longer purely because he fires from range. Does this get better with T4 (in terms of survivability)? Should I go for the 1 untouchable pet since LT gets killed so quickly? Thanks

Eh, I go with what fits concept or costume. (So, looks-wise, Polar Lights for PBs, the purplish Elemental pets for Warshades, etc.) So I'm all over the map.

A better version with more info testing etc.
Ummmm, that's where the data on the PWiki link I posted came from... AND it links to that post. So, I guess you could say that your post was... redundant.

Or you could say it was repetitive. Or you could say it was just saying the same thing. OR you might call it redundant.

I might also say that I said that already, once before... at a different time before this. But also now too, also.

*bows to the master* Well said, sir. Well said; and said; and said.....

I have a tendency to pick Phantoms, as they just feel the most "generic", and very few of my characters are tied enough to any specific villain group their minions flying around after them.
