Perfect casting- he's every bit as wooden & uncharismatic as Christopher Lambert.

Will's only done one "superhero" but he does have the monopoly on black action heroes, however, he does have the range to do much more that just that.

I can't call to mind a recent Ryan flick that didn't involve DC or Marvel.

Deadpool
Green Lantern
That One Guy From Blade

possibly going to do Deadpool again, maybe a Flash movie

not that I'm knocking him or anything... maybe he's found his niche.

Safehouse
The Proposal
Buried
The Change Up

Those are the only ones I can think of right now.

The hell are you people talking about Lambert at all? Duncan / Adrian Paul IS the Highlander. He easily surpassed whatever concept Lambert was part of originally (and subsequently MURDERED in his sequels.) And Adrian could STILL play the role. I just don't think he wants to

In this day and age it most certainly would be a freaking reboot. If done right, they can be a good thing, but that is far and few between. Highlander, however, could really use one. With, I dunno, maybe coherent writing and good direction.

But it's Duncan forever for me.

I've already forgotten about most of you

I have seen all the movies, Highlander 5 was worse then 2 and both are classified under W.W.N.S.O.T (WE WILL NOT SPEAK OF THIS!!), I have the entire series on DVD and frankly with the multiple timelines the Highlander universe has currently had, it would be best to reboot the franchise. Lambert is too old to return as Connor also I don't think he's aged as well in terms of his appearance and if my memory is correct he is also blind as a mole without glasses, hence why the sword fight with him and Slan in the pilot episode of the series seemed a bit....off.

Adrian Paul still looks like he could pass himself off as a man that became immortal in his mid to late twenties, but last I heard he wanted off the show after 6 seasons to pursue other things, and also the pain of some of the stunts and sword fights was starting to catch up a bit. Then came Highlander 4: Endgame and its three versions: Theatrical, cable, and DVD all of which show that sloppy editing hurts a movie badly. Endgame didn't turn out as well as was hoped and I don't think he was interested in doing HL5 for awhile as initial advertisements for it mentioned 4 new immortals seeking the origins of the immortals and there was no mention for sometime about Duncan being in it. Then we suddenly hear that Duncan, Joe Dawson and Methos will be in it after all........and what a trainwreck that movie was. It was supposed to be the start of a trilogy and I think it is safe to say that plan is aborted.

So, time has passed for Lambert and Paul. One of them could return and the other is too old now.

Timelines for Highlander:

1. First movie and nothing else. Connor got the prize, the end.
2. First and second movie: this time line is aborted.
3. First movie and third movie, ignoring 2nd movie which was negated from continuity by third movie: this timeline is also aborted.
4. First movie, retconned so that yes Connor kills Kurgan but it wasn't the final gathering. Instead, Kurgan's Quickening was a Dark Quickening and Connor had trouble assimilating the power of Kurgan at first. Then comes the series with Duncan and the novels, then the horrible spin-off The Raven, and then HL 4:Endgame which was sadly followed by HL5. This is the current timeline/continuity of Highlander.

So multiple timelines, a bad cartoon series (W.W.N.S.O.T.!!!!!!), 3 bad sequels (2,3 and 5) a mediocre sequel (Endgame) and a TV series......

.....REBOOT!

Two completely separate thoughts:

I'm all for a Highlander reboot, this is a series that needs and deserves one.

I like Ryan Reynolds.

I say they're separate because while I think both of those thoughts, I don't think I'd want Ryan Reynolds to play the main character in the Highlander reboot. Ryan Reynolds is, I think, primarily perceived as a humorous actor. Green Lantern had him in "funny" moments, and I think we all know what kind of character Deadpool is/will be. And most of his non-superhero roles are romantic comedies. While I'm not advocating a super serious grimdark interpretation of Highlander, I think Ryan Reynolds would end up making it a bit lighter than it should be.

I don't really want a Highlander reboot to become a wacky misadventure through medieval Scotland and modern-day New York. And I'm somewhat afraid that if they cast Ryan Reynolds, that's what it'll be.

It wouldn't necessarily be his own fault - the writers and director and producers would likely want to play up his comedic aspects in the film, because of what kind of roles he's had. It's not that he can't be a more serious actor in this theoretical Highlander film, it's more that I'm not sure the filmmakers would let him be one.

But I guess time will tell if this even happens. Even if they do cast Reynolds, I'll still go see it. I love me some Macleod action.

I picture them keeping more in line with the series, but he'd be the Macleod who gave more witty oneliners during a fight than the others.

What the hell are you people talking about?

There's never been a movie made in the 'series' past Highlander 1. You're crazy to imagine otherwise.

You know, I actually saw Highlander 2 before I ever saw Highlander 1. Having seen it that way, I quite enjoy the movie, though dont care for the directors cut.

So Highlander 2 is actually what got me interrested in Highlander, and then catching the series when it came on.

Highlander: THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY ONE!

It doesn't need a reboot. It needs to be allowed to rest in peace. Dear Hollywood: please stop remaking old stuff and try making new stuff. k thx bai.

As far as I'm concerned Highlander is the greatest music video ever made by Queen.

I heard it's being done as a musical and instead of sword fights there will be improvisational dance battles. I also heard that the character Macleod has been changed from being a Scottih highlander to being a 6 year old Chinese girl working in a sneaker factory.

Sadly this sounds far better then what we got as the 5th movie.

Sounds almost like 'Lord of the Dance' but without the girl.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"
