How good Reynolds is in the role depends entirely on the script and the director.

Yes he is known for humorous roles. Yes he primarily seems to be a wise cracking guy. But remember this. "Michael Keaton is a light weight comedic actor who can never possibly play Batman. If Burton is stupid enough to use him then the Batman movie will tank. It will be a disaster. This is the stupidest decision ever." etc...

Bruce Willis as an action hero?? Don't be silly, he could never pull that off.

But, still no Deadpool movie?
There is yet hope. The little yellow boxes told me so. I love them, and they love meee...

1.IMDB lists a Deadpool movie for 2014 (aka X-Men Origins: Deadpool) from 20th Century Fox, with Reynolds slated to star and Rhett Reese (Zombieland, GI Joe 2) scripting.

Definitely happy about that latter news, and can't wait for a Deadpool vs. Venkman faceoff. Possibly literally.

However, as both I and my bank manager will sadly tell you, just because someone in Hollyweird says they'll do it, or - even more nebulously - is attached to do something... doesn't mean they will. Conversely, a schedule change at Fox - or the success of a certain Joss-powered megasuperhero flick this summer - might bring it forward.

2. In an unnatural coincidence, Deadpool issue #54 brings a whole new look for the Merc With A Mouth... resemble anybody we know?

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
