Now, what were people saying about the lineup?

I'm just wondering how bad they'll censor Deadman Wonderland. I don't own a tv anymore, so it's of no concern to me, but I can't see it coming thru without any censoring.

If you've never heard the full OP for it, just go to Youtube and search 'Fade One Reason'.

So just to list it:

Bleach
Deadman Wonderland
Casshern Sins
FMA: Brotherhood
GitS
Cowboy Bebop
Repeat of the Block

Nice that 'new' programming as been added.
I agree w/Shadowstone about how badly edited Deadman Wonderland is gonna be done as well.

May watch. May DVR, depending on what I'm doing Saturday night.

Thank you for the time...

I think Bleach and Cowboy Bebop should be replace with the Steve Blum Power Hour.

It depends upon what you are thinking for DW, in terms of censoring.

Boobs/cussing? Ya, that'll get the axe or bleeped. Maybe Tenchi Muyo-esque bikinis getting stuck in.

Violence? Probably not. Look at all the blood and violence that have been in FMA and Bleach. Ropes of intestines hanging out may get the chop, but up to that point, I'd say it probably won't be censored.

I've not seen the series, so I can't say.

I watched the series on Crunchyroll, so I'm going off of memory.
A good portion of the violence is fairly graphic, more so than FMA or Bleach. The first 3 episodes will be a good gauge as to how much will be censored for the rest of it.

Yay. Although, I still miss Toonami of old. I want my DBZ (the real series, not that Kai trash), Kenshin, Gundam Wing, Big-O, and Outlaw Star back!

Freedom
Blueside: Knight'Hawk, lvl 50, Scrapper
Yellowside: Dark'Falcon (Loyalist), lvl 20, Blaster

So you prefer this and this over this and this?

As someone who has been a fan of the series since about the only way to get it here was bootleg VHS at comic cons, I gotta say that Kai - being the original DBZ series digitally cleaned up and edited for MUCH MUCH MUCH better pacing - is superior. It's a shame, however, that they stopped at Cell. I would've liked to have seen the Buu stuff sans the overwhelming need to unnecessarily drag things out.

Deadman Wonderland dub cast is announced. They kept this pretty quiet, since FUnimation annouced they acquired it last summer and it's starting air in less than a week.

GANTA Greg Ayres
MAKINA Colleen Clinkenbeard
TAMAKI Eric Vale
SHIRO Monica Rial
MIMI Lindsay Seidel
YAMAKATSU Micah Solusod
KASUGA Mary Morgan
YOU Aaron Dismuke

Pretty decent dub cast, overall. I've always liked Monica Rial.

Isn't that pretty much the standard Funi dub cast? At least the first four anyways.

This makes me so happy.

Good news on the addition of some new stuff to the lineup. I've seen all of Casshern Sins via the interwebs, but I'll watch again, and I'm glad to see it on the channel - if only because that might mean I have a better chance of getting the original series released with subs on DVD at some point.

Deadman Wonderland will be new for me though. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's about.

There is something somewhat unsettling about hearing Tom say, "Toonami is back, *******"...

This is a good sign (along with the advisary warning) that stuff like Deadman Wonderland may not get much editing.

Well, to be fair, they've pretty much always had that warning up.

Edit - Also...that's a messed up beginning for a series. Seemed to be pretty uncensored, aside from the bleeps, to me. Granted, I've never seen the series before, so I can't say.

Me, neither. Only evidence of censoring I could see was the bleeping (though an "a**hole" slipped through) and the use of shadows to hide the worst of that girl's severed head. If anything else was cut out, I couldn't tell.

That use of shadowing was, I felt, appropriate and didn't exactly "feel" like censoring. Unlike say, High School of the Dead where they whited out half the screen (on Hulu despite being age-gated) for some scenes.

As for the bleeping, well, they did let the reference to the Warden's boobs through. I've also noticed that Lost Girl on Syfy gets away with a couple of s-words an episode.

Edit - And holy cow! That t-word is not censored here?

Deadman Wonderland was the better of the two tonight though hearing Hawkeye from FMA:B as the Makina was disturbing. Casshern Sins is going to take a while for it to grow on me.

A G cup? Seriously?

But yeah, I enjoyed that. And to think, we used to get Toonami every weekday. Boy, I must have been spoiled.

Nice to see a game review in there too although not something very new.

Wow...Deadman Wonderland is a seriously messed up show. They must sentence every criminal on that planet to that prison, given the high rate of turnover of convicts.

You should see the Freezing stuff Funimation put up on Youtube, It's so whited out it blocks 3/4 of the screen.

For a while, I thought it was an episode of SuperJail, with better animation.

Also, there's only the one wierd white haired twin...
