I'd love some sort of upper leg piece that transitions the robot/cybernetic boot options to an intact human pelvis, i.e. legs are replaced from the hip socket down. The diamond blend in conjunction with Armored Wired legs is the best option we've got so far, but good luck getting any of the tops other than Armored Wire to match textures. I've been trying for six months to make a character that has cybernetic limbs, but wasn't ripped in half. What if my cyborg wants children one day?

+1 in support of the change to Celestial Armor. If we could get a similar fix as an OPTION to the gunslinger belt and bodice, I'd be extremely happy. (But as an OPTION and alternate texture.)

Different subject, I know this year's Shark Week didn't permit any dev time and new assets, but a few costume bits to consider for a future similar event (like the holiday hats this past year):

  • A simple scuba tank
  • Frogman flippers (the kind you wear, not the kind mutants grow!)
  • A spear gun weapon model

What has been done to Celestial is a *fix*.

How many times have we all heard each other complain about "pre-tinting"? Celestial had pre-tinting. The pre-tinting is being removed.

If some of you start to complain about this, then they're not going to be so careful as to stop pre-tinting future sets.

And as many that may complain that this change 'ruins' their workarounds, let's poll everyone so as to see how many didn't bother to use this set because of the pre-tinting; because I'm sure there are more of them than those who lived with and actually like the pre-tinting.

My color vision is a bit on the weak side and pre tinting didn't help. I am interested to see what strange colors my existing celestial armor characters will be wearing when this goes live.

Not to complain, to ask for proliferation. I WANT the new Celestial stuff and I really don't want anything to do with the current implementation. However, I've been on the receiving end of getting "better" versions of old costumes, and I still can't use Tech Sleek for just about anything because of that horrible overbright reflection shader. What's better for one isn't necessarily better for all, which is why I've always been in favour of retaining legacy options. Hide them, if need be, but let people keep using them.

---

All of that said, I feel I've forgotten to thank Dink for the change. For as much I feel for others... I still LOVE the new Celestial costume a lot more than the old one. The old was decent, but it only ever worked in white, which was disappointing and a damn waste of a good set. Now, though? Now it ought to work with all colours, which means I can actually use the set without feeling awkward

Again, thank you for hearing our calls. I, too, am sorry for the people this hurts, but it really WAS bugged. That amount of pre-tinting was just horrid. Don't be disheartened, Dink. We may react with caution to your change, but I can assure you we'll be praising it unconditionally soon as it hits Live. And I also suspect people who liked the chrome look will be able to retain it with some colour-jiggling.

This surprises you? You must be new here

Edit: I am very much in favour of the new version, personally, but I also understand the counter argument.

Personally, I have to play the hypocrite here. I understand some people's frustration and feel for them because I have been in their shoes... But at the same time, I unashamedly WANT the fixed Celestial pieces because they'll have such broader use it's amazing! If I had a choice (and I don't think I do, but if I did), I don't think I'd want to retain the old look at the expense of the new. And I'm not entirely sure how to rationalise that other than admitting to hypocrisy.

Wondering if the fix have something to do with Celestial armor being available again soon?

I'd love to see more chest detail options and shirt and shorts options that are more like the roman chest details, gunslinger female shirt, barbarian male and female chest details or say the boxing shorts that still show some leg above the knee. Really tight and form fitting but overlaying rather than replacing the body part.

One of the most annoying limitations of the COH engine is the fact that if a costume piece shows skin it can't have a secondary color. A way to work around this and have a broader character palette is to use a chest detail in place of a shirt. Then you have your strong guy showing his biceps... AND he can have tattoos or he could be a feral character with fur showing beneath his armor. Here's an example of something sort of like what I'd want to see:

See? It lets you show a little cleavage but still have 2 colors on the chest.

More stuff like that (especially cool glowy stuff!) which will mix well with tighter clothing options would be welcome. I like having a more complex palette for my characters and try to show skin when possible (without being gratuitous mind you) just to add the skin tone to the overall palette in more than just the face. It breaks things up a bit and makes the costume more interesting overall.

I would love to see some Barbarian male pieces ported to female:

Barbarian chest straps
Barbarian bracers
Barbarian belt
Barbarian shoulder rings

Also would be awesome if some of the Gunslinger stuff were a bit more basic:

The waistcape without ribbons
Corset without strips
High boots without lace and spurs! (This specially, the boots are awesome but having the spurs ruinning the use out of cowgirl/saloon girl)

Also I hope we can have the Dark Astoria Tsoo pieces, like the hats, the belt and the glowing tattoos. Those pieces are awesome.

Keep the good work, Dink.

Chances are that with the right color pick the same look they have now can be achieved.

I would like to have the spiked collar moved or duplicated to detail 2 option, where we can find other similar items like the steampunk laced collar.

Duplicated but not moved please. In fact collars under both shoulders AND detail 2 would be appreciated by many an advanced CC user. Though admittedly this may be confusing to novice CC users.

In the most recent Coffee Talk, Mr. Miller apparently mentioned that Void Sanction and Hammer of Justice emblems, but not a Hero Corp or Wyvern one, would be added to player costume options at some time. This prompted someone in the beta forum to request a (standard) Hero Corp(s) emblem, which prompted someone else to request another one, which prompted me to make this list of possible in-game logos that could become Chest Details.

Here's a list of logos that exist in-game but aren't available to players:

Freedom Corps/Longbow*
Hero Corp(s)*
Ouroboros^
The Warriors^
The Hellions^
The Freakshow (If you don't know this logo, it's at the Pocket D door to Talos Island and on various Freakshow mission maps.)
Crey^
The Syndicate^
Rogue Alignment symbol
Vigilante Alignment symbol
Paragon Transit Authority
Portal Corporation
Wentworth's Fine Consignments
Red Beast Energy Drink

*=logo exists as a "chest detail" costume piece for NPC's

^=logo appears on NPC models, but not as it would appear as a "chest detail" costume piece on a PC rig (i.e., it appears to be an integrated part of a different costume piece, such as a jacket)

(no symbol)=logo appears in the game but not on any character I can recall

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more. I've had a (regular) Hero Corp character for the longest time and would be happy to see that logo in particular.

Edit: Note that plenty of these logos (the alignment symbols come to mind) might require some rejiggering of their color makeup, turning them into two-color images, to work as PC costume parts.

sure! just also port the barbarian female pieces to male.
skirt, bikini, shoulder cuff, crowns

also yay to celestial armor fix! now if you could also fix the skirt's awkward front missing flaps XD. i was told it was something about connecting to the legs and blah blah but there are other costume pieces that do it, and the back center piece doesnt seem to have any ptoblems as simply an extension of the waist part... O_O

also, port the piranha head fins to normal heads please!!! ^_^

thanks dink and other character artist!

Obviously creating something close to this might already be possible, but this kind of theme could make for a very exciting costume set and maybe even a powerset.

I guarantee you more people dislike the current Celestial than like it. It literally does not go with anything because of the awful pre-tinted metallic shaders it has on it.

Well, I was fine with it as it was but this is definitely better.

Don't let the naysayers prevent you guys from fixing bugs. Get the change done, and thanks for working on it!

Would it be possible to make Backpacks available with trench coats and similar tops? Currently if you have a top with a cape-like object attached it cancels out all back details, but since most Backpacks are singular models I don't see any potential performance issues brought on by them.

Regards the Celestial modification, I was one of those hoping for this sort of change, even though I have worked out costumes using the current shading. I'm happy about the change because in the long run it allows for more flexibility, so I don't care about having to go back and alter a couple designs.
While having a legacy option would be nice, I accept the fact that we can't get everything we want.Given that the adherance to a standard of no pre-tinting has long been sought after by players, I appreciate that you took time out to deal with this Dink.

This costume by itself is almost doable in the current costume creator. But if by some miracle the Devs could create animated hair that looked like it does in these pictures I'd easily pay $50 for it. I've been playing this game for over 8 years and have ALWAYS wanted animated hair for it so yes $50 is a completely reasonable cost vs. desire price-point for me.
