What is a game feature that you never knew existed?
If you want to make extra double sure that the name is available, just /friend Stupendous Man. Of course, if the name is taken this method comes with the extra step of /estrange Stupendous Man, assuming you're disinclined to be friends with someone simply because they thought of a name that you wanted before you did.
3) "Chat handle '@Stupendous Man' is not online, hidden, or does not exist" - indicating that if this name is taken, it is the same as the player's global, or more likely that the name isn't taken at all. It's not 100% foolproof in theory, but I've never encountered a situation where the name was taken and the same as the global; it was always free.

Edit:
And the reason I don't have it on other servers is that it was already taken.

Another one: The Detailed Info tab has a nifty feature that I only found out about in beta.
Bringing up the Info window for a power and then going into Detail Info which gives you all the stats on said power on your current AT. Clicking on the AT brings up a little pop-menu that allows you to change the AT and it will give you the info for that power on the AT that you want.
e.g. if you want to see if there's any difference between Flares on a fire/ blaster and Flares on a /fire defender simply bring up the info, click the AT and change it to defender and voila: defender stats for Flares.

One thing I've always taken advantage of is that the "backspace" key will automatically reply to the last person who sent you a tell.
Yeah, yeah, not that big a thing, but every little bit helps.

Is there a shortcut for Combining Fading Enhancements? I'm tired of having to do it with my mouse...it gets really annoying on toons who are 40+ but all of there SO's are Yellow.

Hopefully someone will enlighten us.
I know it's already been said, but for me the epiphany came a couple of months ago when someone told me about /cleartray. Before that, I would begrudgingly remove each and every power from the tray after a respec. This make respecs so much easier!
My Mission Architect arcs:
Attack of the Toymenator - Arc # 207874
Attack of the Monsters of Legend - Arc # 82060
Visit Cerulean Shadow's Myspace page!
sounds like someone should make a mini-respec guide
/respec works for X respecs
otherwise you have to talk to Wolfe who is now in the city hall in Atlas
select a power or slot and hit enter instead of clicking the button with your mouse
when done use /cleartray to remove the icons from your tray
anything else?

It sounds really simple, but up until a year or two ago I always moved my mouse to the chatbox and physically clicked it when I wanted to talk.

2 For masterminds, but they're both similar.
1: If you drag an inspiration to a pet, it'll use it, except wakes. 2: Target a pet and type /inspexec_pet_target "the inspiration name" and that pet uses the named inspiration. I knew about the first one for about a year but i just recently learned the second one. Good for macro's and/or binds |
Thank you for these! Combining them, on my MM I now use
/macro Acc "$$inspexec_pet_target Keen Insight$$inspexec_pet_target Insight"
/macro Dam "$$inspexec_pet_target Focused Rage$$inspexec_pet_target Enrage"
/macro Def "$$inspexec_pet_target Good Luck$$inspexec_pet_target Luck"
/macro Res "$$inspexec_pet_target Rugged$$inspexec_pet_target Sturdy"
/macro End "$$inspexec_pet_target Take a Breather$$inspexec_pet_target Catch a Breath"
/macro Heal "$$inspexec_pet_target Dramatic Improvement$$inspexec_pet_target Respite"
/macro Esc "$$inspexec_pet_target Emerge$$inspexec_pet_target Break Free"
Someone probably already have posted these or something similar in an obvious place, but I hadn't know about them before.

Down at the bottom of the screen, type in the ame you might want, and click that magnifying glass. If the name is available, the game will reserve it for you so that you can take your time in character creation, and make the costume you want now.
you could have it all

Here's a game feature I only recently learned about and almost never see anyone using:
A League can do multiple missions* at the same time. This means that each teams can do their own mission/TF/SF/flashback yet still remain in a league group. Useful when players want to still chat but do not share the same SG/coalition, global channel, or friend list.
*as long as it is not a LFG-started event such as BAF, Keyes, DiB, etc
The new character creation screens allow you to check to see if a name is available before you even make any choices about the character.

Note if you have multiple accounts, and use one to check for a name, make sure to check for another name before going back to the other account to use the name. Otherwise the reserve will still be in effect for about 5-10 minutes.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Oh, another thing that I recently remembered - the /info command.
Target anything, friend, for or other and type /info in the chat window and it will bring up the info window much the same way as as finding the command in the list of Actions in the Target box.

I've been to the astral store a few times to buy costumes and whatnots for a while. Only recently did I see I could unlock Alpha slot with Atrals for another character. My stalker ran a BAF, purchased the coupon, my tank became incarnate by opening an email.
|
Yes you can go to Ouroborus and purchase an Alpha slot for another character with 5 astrals.
You can also use astrals or Rmpyreans to purchase threads and any other character can claim them via email. And you can puirchase IXP with threads.... I have incarnates that opened their Alpha slot with a token, opened their Judgement, Lore, Interface and Destiny with threads and then slotted all five powers to level 2 before ever doing a single trial.
COSTS:
Alpha slot ..... 5 Astrals
Judgement slot .... 30 threads and 30 million INF
Lore Slot ..... 45 threads and 45 million INF
Interface Slot .. 30 threads and 30 million INF
Destiny Slot ... 45 threads and 45 million INF
T1 enhancer in each slot ... 60 threads per power for a total of 300 threads (20 threads per common X 3)
T2 enhancer in each slot ... 100 threads for a total of 500 threads (20 threads per common x 2 and 60 threads per uncommon X 1)
Its a bit expensive compared to simply running trials and earning threads and components but if you have a lot of incarnate and astrals you no longer need ... why not?

Let's say you met a character named "Fool's Golden Girl", and you wonder if that player's online. If you do "/getglobalname Fool's Golden Girl" you may get back:
"Arby Drab's player has the global name of @Statsman"
That tells you that "Fool's Golden Girl" is played by "@Statsman", and said player is currently playing a character named "Arby Drab".
This doesn't work if they're offline, or correctly hidden, naturally.
1) "Stupendous Man has the global handle: BillW" or "Spaceman Spiff has the global handle: BillW" - indicating that Stupendous Man is taken and the player, @BillW, is currently online.
2) "Chat handle '@BillW' is not online, hidden, or does not exist" - indicating that the name is taken by a player who is not presently online
