So Staff, what do you think

You 50 on your staffie yet? Seems you've been leveling her as obsessively as I did TW.

How bad is beast mastery on a stalker?

Actually, that's a half-truth. 1/5 slotting was standard, because everyone thought 1/5 slotting was standard. It was very common slotting on blasters, but on things that soloed at higher difficulty more often 2/4 slotting was very common, because that actually produced better results against higher level critters.**

Which means damage is more valuable than any other considerations.

Also Io's are just swimming in +rech +rec, and there just isnt that much +dam, so they higher you get the less valuable the rech or rec becomes.
Except most players do not slot a lot of IOs prior to 50 (or at least 47) so that's usually not a major factor until the level cap.

*And* no matter how much recharge a player has, they are often still compelled to get more: otherwise LotGs wouldn't be as popular as they are. If one more +7.5% global recharge buff is worth slotting LotG, the recharge buffs in Staff will also be considered valuable.

Brutes get a lot of mileage from +rech and +enddisc, and less from +dmg. They make out very well with staff. And I would imagine tier 3 soul is looking really good for Dark Armor anything right now.

Actually, I rarely use Body right now. What I'm finding is that the AoE output of the set is already plenty, and the goal is to power it. And the forms give me an excellent way to manage inspirations. When I have a ton of blues, I use Mind and my AoEs just keep coming back faster, but I burn endurance a little faster also. When I run out of blues, I switch to Soul and my endurance problems basically disappear, while I'm still pumping out AoEs at a high rate. That strategy is working so well, I don't think I'm likely to be using Body except in teams until I get to a much higher level, possibly not until I approach the level cap.

** Addendum: my Blaster's pre-ED slotting was 1acc4dmg1rech in the SO build before I built an HO based build. Because that was provably better than 1/5 even with perma-hasten

Not yet. Lvl 40. But I had to work those first two days of it's release.

There is nothing accurate about this statement.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Technically, it is a set.

I typically used 2 ACC.

And I would not go back. I would still use IOs, because they let me build better attack chains with fewer powers (thanks to recharge slotting) and to fight for longer without stopping (thanks to endurance slotting). And hey, most attack sets give around 4 SOs worth of damage anyway.

SF/WP Stalker, currently level 43 and loving it!

Though I think I'm going quite differently in the building of a Staff Fighter, as people have said "OMG! How have you not taken this attack?!"

Basically what Arcana said. It's a very robust set. Yes, TW and StJ still out-damage it by a mile and a half, but Staff has a versatility to it that neither of the aforementioned sets have or could dream to have.

That is all.
I couldn't agree more. I would love an apiarist (?) power set

On topic:

Tonight i got my SF/SR scrapper up to level 16, and i have to say...it's turning out better than i thought it would. First few levels were kinda meh. The power anims are nice, though i'm not sure about the sounds. Personally i'd prefer more of a smack (think Onimusha 2 sponge stick sound...) than what we got...but i can live with it.

Then i hit level 8. Yeah...gotta say. Total game changer right there. Been largely using Form of the Soul (tho i have followed, i think it was BrandX's method of form hopping a bit), and wow. That end discount is HUGE! Now i understand the "no endurance worries" remarks.

I gotta admit...i did slam in some DO's...and...35% melee defense at level 16 is just sick. Even on day-old DO's (-1).

I tried /SR years ago and it left a bad taste in my mouth, and swore me off of defense sets for years. I've since ventured more into defense, and decided to give SR another go. So far...i'm not regretting it.

So yes...so far...i like Staff.

Side note: Will have to take out one of my soul caliber games and see if i can manage a Kilik cloning...

Ya, we understand how it works; we just didn't find the Scrapper critical to be compelling / exciting for Staff.
