The aura looks really awful. Even outside of the costume creator it just looks terrible. It could have been better, oh so much better, but really, it just looks awful. I do like the helmets, and the emblem is sort of neat, and the well pet reminds me of a tiny little aspect of Rularuu following me, but the aura is bad. Hopefully it could be looked at to make it a little better.

Yay! I dropped my ToR subscription and re-subscribed to CoX just in time for a sucker punch! Sweet

Eh... I signed up for the newsletter, so knew about this back in Octover/November-ish. I also check the forums a few times a week. Then again, I'm also they guy who is mostly responsible for updating my SG's MotD so I guess not everybody does that.

Guess it looks like I'll be missing out...

Nevermind all this subscription stuff, I want to know why the "image of the well" looks like Rularuu.

What did I miss? I don't recall reading anything hinting at that.

I didn't get mine. And I subbed all that time too.

Who do I speak to about this?

My account has been active since Jan something 2012 since F2P was released. Does this mean I get crap? If so thx for screwing a 7year vet player off with another thing.

They're just recycling Rularuu's form along with their waterfall aura GFX to create this.

The statesman star is busted for busty characters.
Just another downside, but they have plenty of perks so it's ok I guess.

If your guys get the opportunity to check it out later it'd be a nice gesture. Thanks.

edit: please disregard the complainst about the aura. it's amazing. definitely one of my favorites.

No, not at all. There are a whole slew of other rewards (Paragon Rewards) designed to reward those who spend a lot. There are items on that list too, that one cannot get unless one spends enough to get the rewards, just like there are a few rewards you cannot get unless one maintains their sub consistently over certain periods.
Yeah, see.

That excuse only flies if I haven't been subbed to the game a long time. Can only get as many rewards as there are rewards.

And Tetsuko_NA, that's an assumption that I dropped my sub entirely, not accidentally let it lapse for a bit and then re-subbed.

Don't impose a point of view on something if you don't know it.

I never sign up for newsletters. lol When I do get emails from stores and sites where I've bought stuff, 99% of the time, it's something I clean out without even reading, because just from the title, I know I'm not interested. Haven't played in a year as well, and I'm not in the habit of checking up on games I'm not playing.

Edit: They'll probably have them for sale in a year or so anyway, but I'm fairly certain I won't be getting them then either. Costumes/creating "looks", isn't something I care about a whole lot. I make my characters for me to think they look ok, not other pepole.

Well.... Rularuu um, I guess... also drank from the Well Furies? Or maybe the Well is also known by the lesser known name of "Rularuu's Bathtub".

I'm naming mine Smaltheem.

It's true that this new aura does look a bit "cartoony" and/or cel-shaded. I tried it out with several of my existing alts and it didn't work well with them. But I have a couple of other concept costumes where it actually worked pretty well so I can't really complain.

No one said every new aura had to perfect for everything. *shrugs*

I'm kinda hoping they won't come up or sale. All in all the quality of these items are on par with party favors you'd find in the trash after a birthday party. They're fun when you have them in hand, but not as fun as anything worth paying money for.

I'm utterly amazed at the whiny sense of entitlement displayed in this thread. Either you subscribed for the time necessary to receive the incentives or you didn't. It's just that simple.

I've been subscribed for just about four years now with no lapses. This wasn't to earn incentives (though those are a nice little bonus) but because I enjoy the game and want the benefits that paying for it has to offer. I truly cannot fathom subscribing to a game for a specific amount of time solely to get an incentive, nor can I understand those who claim they wasted their money by subscribing for some time just short of what was necessary to receive said incentive. Have you not been enjoying the perks of membership? If not, why are you even here?

The conditions necessary to receive this particular goodie bag were laid out for all to see: don't let your subscription lapse for a specific time range. If you did indeed let it lapse, that's no one's fault but your own. Now I can certainly understand being frustrated if the lapse was accidental, but it's still your own fault. You made a mistake, and not getting the goodies is a consequence of that mistake. It isn't the end of the world. And if the goodies are later released on the market and you want them, buy them. (Just because I followed the rules of the incentive program and received the incentives at no additional cost doesn't mean I'm going to resent you paying for them at a later date. I'm not that selfish, and I hope the majority of the player base isn't either.)

I did miss out on this because I wasn't able to play enough in January and February to justify VIP, but I would definitely buy that aura the second it hit the market if ever. The Vanguard Pack set the precendent of being a loyalty perk later released on the market, I'm hoping this will be the case here too.

I wasn't attempting to impose any point of view except the reality of the way the system works. There seemed to be some confusion about the Loyalty program having to do with the amount of money overall spent on the game. That's not how it is awarded.

I was drawing a parallel with a coffee shop punch card to give another example of an award given for specific circumstances, regardless of other business done with the shop.

The game can't detect your motives - or lack thereof - for letting your account lapse. It only knows if you have or if you haven't, and that's what the award is based on.

That's one reason why I hope the items will be made available in the Shop at some point in the future... the more options for people to get the things they want, the better.

This.

I would have been subscribed anyway because I like to play the game and have access to all the content. I could easily go FTP having bought many character slots on both accounts, but I enjoy the game and want to support it.

You can put me in the camp that pretty much likes the way the game is going. Yes, I even like the market! I slot all my toons at 30 so the attuned enhancements work great and address the total lack of recipes or crafted enhancements at that level range.

Thanks for the new toys...
Slightly off track ... I see quite a few toons looking very similiar to States... is this going to be ok ? I mean, will we get generic'd for 'copying' Stateman or Recluse ? Hadn't seen any official comment out there.

I'd have to reread the applicable bits of it to be sure, but I believe the TOS allows for use/replica/homage/derivative of IP specific to the CoX franchise within the CoX game. If not then the devs and moderators have seriously overlooked my Longbow based SG.

Considering that there's an entire AT that's not only 100% lore generated but also forces players to start off dressed like the NPC versions, thre's really not a problem

Using NCSoft products to make avatars based on characters owned by NCSoft = ok.
Using NCSoft products to make avatars based on characters owned by someone else = not ok.

If your account wasn't actively subscribed from the entire time December 1st, 2011 to March 31, you don't get the promotional items. If your account lapsed for less than 24 hours, but have subscribed otherwise during between those dates, you get the promotional items.

If you let your account lapse for the month of December, but resubscribed in January, you don't get the promotional items. The only person to blame for this is yourself, not the company.

By the way, Free to Play for this game was released in September 2011, not January 2012.

Normally "loyalty" is based in years or total dollar values spent by customers. This is just really poor management and should have been internalized a bit more. It's like a grocery store giving away a turkey for everyone who shopped last Saturday... sorry, ma'am - you've only been shopping here every Thursday for 6 years, so you get nothing.

I know a number of 5-6 year subscribers who've had small lapses here and there, and to pull something like this on them is not only a slap in their face, but a red flag for future management of the product.

Yikes. I don't even think it's worth arguing with this current crop of temp. developers. Can't wait for the next batch.
