I let my subscription go for a day or two.... I hope that it will still count.

This does not seem to be time-locked. Past midnight and they are not auto-enabled upon logging in.

That's usually how the Marketplace is coded.

My guess is switch at the studio... so about 6-10 AM PST

More than 24 hours, and there could be a problem.

This has been my point and I have not been "arguing", you can either view them as "free rewards" or you can view them as something that you had to pay a subscrption for to qualify for the rewards. Perhaps neither viewpoint is wrong it's down to an individual’s interpretation of the offer (but you were quick to dismiss my view). I've already said that this isn't the reason that I kept my subs up, I would have done that without the loyalty rewards. It just doesn't fit my own view/interpretation of a Loyalty Reward if the items are offered later on the Market. Open it up again for anyone who subscribes for four months and I'd be very happy.

I haven't spent a penny more than what the subscription asked for. So, unless they're stealing my money without me knowing about it, it's a free bonus.

I've already spent X dollars on my subscription, so I don't see how you can say that the loyalty rewards are costing me money.

It's much like the Veteran Rewards. Was I paying to get Vet Rewards, or were they a free bonus for keeping my subscription going?
Again I'm not saying that they cost extra for a VIP, however that fact remains that you had be subscribed for a certain period of time, so based on an individual’s view they were either a free bonus or they DO in fact have a cost value because they were an incentive and to qualify as you had to be subscribed.

So let me get this straight.

Because I didn't manage to maintain a consistent sub, even though I spent more on the game I don't receive anything?

And people are arguing that even though I've spent more on the game than them, that that the money they spent is worth more than the money I spent, so I should never be given the opportunity to purchase these things?

Awesome. Either I'm never letting a sub lapse again or I'm never subbing again.

I see it as a promotion. Similar to how e.g. soft drinks companies release special batches of their product that win various exclusive prizes. If you don't make a purchase during the promotional period, there's not generally any way to obtain the gifts after the promotion has expired. It doesn't matter if you've faithfully bought their drinks for 25 years - no purchase during the period means no prize.

That's right. It's designed to reward those who do maintain a consistent sub.

No, not at all. There are a whole slew of other rewards (Paragon Rewards) designed to reward those who spend a lot. There are items on that list too, that one cannot get unless one spends enough to get the rewards, just like there are a few rewards you cannot get unless one maintains their sub consistently over certain periods.

Like everyone else, you could read the terms here, here or on the NcSoft site here. I'm not sure how they could've made them any clearer.

... And there goes any credibility your argument may have had.

Um... Wow.

Let's just chalk this up to "you get what you pay for" in a most literal sense. If you didn't pay for what the free extras comes with, then you don't get the free extras. If I get a free t-shirt with the purchase of a 12 pack of Enriche, and a 12 pack of Enriche costs $60, but instead I spend $600 on other stuff at the Enriche store, I don't get a free t-shirt, because I didn't buy what the free t-shirt comes with.

Now, I can see some concern over those who still want the freedom to purchase the free extras a la carte. After all, from what I can tell those who want to do this buy pretty much EVERYTHING associated with the game a la carte. Well, unfortunately these aren't a la carte items.

But for those who are getting them... when is delivery?

Also, anyone know what the non-combat pet or chest emblem are gonna look like? I'm assuming the pet's gonna look like the guy in the middle of the promo pic, but not sure about the chest emblem and other stuff.

The chest emblem is the Statesman Star type emblem on the 'heroic' guy on the left.

Looking forward to getting my goodies

Ah, I was hoping it was something more distinctive. We seem to have a lot of star emblems and one of them already kind of looks like Statesman's star. Oh well. It's not like I use the 7th anniversary star much either.

Nope, read that. Just though it was a little vague so I asked if anyone knew a more specific time. But um... thanks. You've been helpful.

Hm. I thought I was subbing for the entire time because I wanted to be able to play any and all of my characters at any level without restrictions.

Look, it does suck to lose out because of a technicality. Hell, it sucks to be promised a soda at the end of a hike and miss out because there wasn't quite enough to go around, too. If you want there to be a special reward for doing something, there'll always be people who deserve it and don't get it...or who get it and don't deserve it.

If you demand perfection in promotions, the only perfection to be found is in not having them at all. That way everyone's equally missing out.

It's a nice little touch, probably convinced a few people to not drop to Premium for a few months, but ultimately I doubt it actually made NCSoft a net profit. I suspect it came out of the advertising budget, much like grocery coupons do.

---Dave, actually has no plans for the Statesman helmet since his only Statesman-homage character has a wolf head.

The Free Coffee Punch Card works like this:
If you buy 10 coffees, and have your card punched, you get a free coffee.
Not if you buy 3 party trays. Not if you buy 15 sandwiches. Not if you buy a dozen cafe' t-shirts. There may be other offers for those sorts of purchases, but the Free Coffee Punch Card gets you something very specific for doing something very specific.

That being said, I have no problem at all with these items being available in the Market.

My last place of employment holds sales contests from time to time, with some rather large prizes. Things like paying your mortgage for a year, free big screen TVs and such, and a few times they gave away cars. To qualify, you just had to meet a sales quota. A friend of mine won the car. He was a horrible salesman. In fact, he just managed to get a single entry into the months long contest.

I bet the company owes everyone who got dozens and hundreds of entries in that contest a car too.

Hehe. Analogies are fun! Let's do another!

The perks should start appearing on your account sometime after 11am pst. If you're logged in at that time, you may need to log out and log back in.

Because its being granted via a one-time script, however, some people may not see the items until later in the day.
