  1. Hosun,

It was an honor working alongside you, and really getting to see how much blood, sweat and tears you shed for this game and for the studio.

If you ever wanna get froyo, look me up, my treat.
  2. I play it on the Arcadia server.

Alcohol flavorings I have used to good effect include creme de menthe, Kahlua, Chambord, cherry brandy, and Frangelico.

It WILL be my kitchen and I will put myself out there to test the 'test batch' for poison... I think that should be about 200 brownies before we get to the ones for Paragon, right?

    Confessions

Some people learned and madtered the art of min/maxing their builds...

I mastered the art of min/maxing my participation.

Zwillinger can attest to this. I once ran a BAF at the office without looking at the screen, tapping my action keys on memory, and having a conversation with him.

    I am the AFK Ninja.

  6. Me.

I've been involved in the fandom since 1995, and been on staff at many conventions.

Paragon had an in house furry and never knew.

Sexy Jay enjoyed beer and cocktails talking about how much he wasn't terribly fond of furries while at the room party of one.

  7. Hey everyone.

I am crossposting this, because as my home server, my sentiments go double.

I was going to do a video about this but since so many know me by the written word I thought it might be prudent to do this as a written statement.

In 2005 I started playing City of Heroes. I was a bit of a bitter self-centered person who didn't give a damn about his fellow man or player.

    This community changed that.

Since then, I had worked on the CoV streetwise team, written for the City Scoop, received one of 5 ever participation awards to being an example of what this game is about, and chased my dream of working in the game industry from Tennessee all the way to San Jose, where I eventually DID get to work for Paragon.

EM Stock in 2009 said that there was something about pretending to be a superhero that brought out the best in us, and I have to agree with her. Without the inspiration of every single one of you, I would not be the person I am today, and I will hold these years forever in my heart.

Hell I even have an Arachnos tattoo.

As I'm writing this, I'm worried both for all my friends in game and on the forums. I do not want to lose contact with any of you. I don;t want what this community is and stands for to go away.

I also worry for my friends AT Paragon Studios, my ex-coworkers who have been some of the most innovative and imaginative people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

In this time of soul searching and bearing of emotion, I feel it prudent to reveal something about myself that I have kept hidden, even from my friends at the studio during my tenure, for fear it might be taken as a conflict of interest.

For the past several years, I have been involved in he Real Life Superhero movement under the name The Cheshire Cat. I have fed and clothes the homeless, raised money for various charities, stopped robberies, muggings and incidents of domestic violence, and even a car jacking. I've helped people, a lot of people and I wouldn't be the kind of person who would be the type to step up and do that if not for the people in this community.

To my friends here, I hope that you don't think less of me.

To my friends from Paragon, please know that I only kept this secret for fear of how it might be seen to the studio proper, and possibly hinder chances or returning there one day. I didn't want to be seen as a fan who took things too far.

Everyone who reads this is part of the community who taught me that it's ok to care for your fellow man. You taught me it's ok to try and be a better person, no matter what form that takes. You taught me it's ok to turn your back on selfishness.

Many of us are worried what happens to our community, and to that I do not know. What I *DO* know is that we carry the spirit of this community inside all of us, and we can carry that wherever we go. Look at Real World Hero, the charity we do every year, raising thousands for various causes. That's what this community is about.

So, there it is, I've 'come out of the phone booth' as we like to say.

You can follow me on FB at www.facebook.com/thecheshirecatrlsh if you wish.

But it has been an honor and a privilege to work and play beside each and every one of you.

Be the hero inside, no matter what form it takes, life is too short not to.

  8. I re-designed Trina in Pocket D.

Post-Apoc costume set in production was my suggestion.

I got to write Captain Mako Week. Ie: I made Mako a brony.

I believe my suggestions on how the Black Knights looked drab caused more colors to be used in them. I am not sure.
  9. Also. We need to honor our beginnings.

    Coyote must be in this.

This is the end of a memorial for a fellow player, a pillar of this community, as well as just a game.

Well played, Thirty-Seven. I hope you are happy.
  12. The image of the Blue Police Box is currently under Copyright of the BBC, even though I think the have an open license to the police.

If memory serves me correctly, and if anyone here can verify or prove wrong, that police boxes in SCOTLAND are red.

So as a way of keeping authenticity to the British Isles as well as a lovely homage to certain sci-fi shows, the long standard British Police Box model was used with the Scottish red.

I am unsure, do not quote me, this is just my own personal assumption on the matter.
  13. I certainly hoped everyone enjoyed my little 5 part story for the First Captain Mako Week.

I do not know if there will be more, but if there are, I am proud to have contributed to something that makes this game more fun for years to come.

To Andy, Jessie, Kevin, Matt, John, Ryan, Sean, Tim.. and the many others I bugged about for lore questions when writing this you have my deepest and truest thanks.

To my fellow players, it is my most sincere wish that you found this story a fun bit change from the recent dark and sinister turns the lore has taken of late. If this is officially canon, I do not know, but in a way I hope it is, and not just for the sake of being a player influencing the game. I wrote this to show the lighter side of the experience that is City of Heroes: Freedom. We accept the wars, the struggles the battles but we also accept that Viridian loves his soap operas, that we have (like,) Becky the Tarantula Mistress, that we have a hero whom we love because of the word 'hoorb', and a heroine who we groan due to the fact that the blue haired pigtailed wonder from Faultline has only the power to be kidnapped.

I haven't seen many negative comments, and for something as goofy as my story was, shows how much, I believe, that we as a community can take a step back and enjoy the game for what it is, harmless fun.

So for those who enjoyed my story, I thank you. For those who didn't, and felt it was a slap against the game, again, I thank you for at least reading it and sharing your honest feedback.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You are all the best, and I did it for you!

  14. FPARN!

Boy, I sure wonder how this ends...

*kicks himself over a grammar error though, forgive me*
  15. So...

    So far, so good?

Personally, if this were to have any lasting effect in game, I was thinking it be the birth of "The Gladys Brittlehips Strike Force", but that's just me!

I can't wait to see how folks enjoy chapters 4 and 5! This was so much fun creating.

  17. Hello!

Dink, I know it's pry WAAAAY too late for any possible additions, but I found something and wanted to share, in the event it might be worked into a future set, or expansion for Post-Apoc.

    Opinions?

  20. 1. NUKE ALL THE BASES.

This would be done to remove the outdated system that seems to be the reason why we can't have nice things. Every item would get converted back to 2x it's prestige cost.

Then unveil a new system built from scratch that you can work with.

Yes, many awesome amazing bases will be exploded, yes you'll have to rebuild everything, but it'll be USABLE and UPDATE-ABLE.

Also, I'd introduce a system for SG buffs based on participation, giving you a REASON once again to be active in your SG.

    2. Negate some of the redundant transit systems.

How many ways do we need to get to PI from Atlas?

TUNNEL would be the new entrance points to Pocket D, which would get an overhaul. This fits the lore more, as well as gives us an opportunity to maybe have a VIP player only room in there for the servers who use it for a Itrial meeting zone.

    QoL bloat is still bloat.

    3. 2 issues would be spent MERELY FIXING THE BACKBURNER BUGS. I'd appoint a team of programmers who would make a comprehensive list on the forums of bugs to be fixed, and each time one is done, it's noted.

We can deal with 8 months of the same content, considering we have the SSAs now. Once those are done, content boost.

    4. Penalties for not fighting the GM's and / or Invasions.

However I would seriously UP the rewards these things give by at least 10x.

    5. AE would be POLICED.

You make a farm, you get temp banned.

You make an awesome story, you get shouted out by the citizens on the streets.

You make ALOT of farms, you are sent to the cornfield.

You make ALOT of awesome stories, well I think boosts from reviews could happen.
  21. CoH group themed sets, but made universal. More like Circle of Thorns, less like Carnival of Light. ((Unless ya make them masks and sash for mens, please!))

This way you can utilize the resources for updating old enemy and ally groups to keep the game fresh while also giving players more options.

Imagine the Hellions or Skulls revamped using the tech of the Carnival of Light Masks as options. New masks that can be used by a wide variety of player concepts across the gender lines.
