I just tried to install CoH and it's not doing anything.
Why can I not install CoH? I know the game hasn't shut down already.
I want to play on the final days/weeks/month of the game to have a great time.
Why is it refusing to let me install the game?!? -
Quote:I c was wondering because I was going to screw around and make a pokemon for the hell of it wasn't going to keep it just play and mess around. Was wondering, had a feeling but wanted to clarify it.The rule is nice and simple:
If somebody else owns the rights to the character, you can get genericed for copying it. Book, TV show, movie, doesn't matter. Copyright is copyright. Katniss Everdeen, Superman, and Captain Jack Sparrow are all equally against the rules.
Sufficiently obscure characters may escape genericing for a while, or even indefinitely, but that's mostly because nobody will realize to report them, not because they are actually allowed. -
What all some hands down characters that if you create they will be generic if reported/caught?
I know stuff from like Marvel and DC
Are their any other area's that if you create a character from a tv show, movie, book, etc
that if you create anything that looks like that character and the same name you will be generic?
Why am I asking?
Because I have no clue what all you can do and what you can't do XD so just looking for any type of info on it.
Thanks =D -
Well, I'll say my two cents.
Water Blasters combo/tidal mechanics our how do you say it. Getting really old of seeing the same thing in just about every new power set coming out. Dual Blades was the first, the you got Street Justice and then Titian Weapon and then Staff Fighting, if your going to come out with a new power set, then think, how many players are SICK of the combo stuff? I'm however getting kinda bored of seeing the same combo stuff over and over and over again. Think of something new please? The whole water blast stuff seems really lame to me but I peeked at videos on youtube and have to say...my favorite move is Geyser the T9 attack looks pretty sweet. But I honestly don't think I'm going to touch water blast for MONTHS I still haven't gotten a dual blade character pass lv 10 and I LOVE DUAL BLADES... But yeah I don't know how many other players are out their that think the same as me "Oh joy another combo power set yippy e-e..." The first and second power set was yay a new thing! third ok same deal but also threw in Momentum and then staff oh...-.- another fricking combo set woo im so thrilled...I disliked the fact of a water blast...couldn't have through of anything cooler? Apparently not, but disliked water blaster and dislike it more now after finding it's another combo set...honestly if I do make one -.- skipping damn near all the powers but Geyser and the build up...
ON THE OTHER NOTE
If COH EVER EVER makes a Scythe power set...and they make it a combo set...I'd play that set over and over and over again in till my heart is content. Not many games out there that has Scythe's but if your going to make a Scythe power set...make it look amazing and not cheesy.
Well my two cents '-' -

Hi, I'm not familier with building pvp builds but I'm aiming to get a decent character for Recluses Victory, a friend told me Dark/Ice Corr's are pretty amazing in pvp so I went on mids in attempt to build me one.
Anyone able to give pointers to my build I made?

I've played for years in CoH and I enjoyed the old pvp system but then that was changed to what PvP is now currently.
I honestly got nothing left to do in CoH and I want to try and get into PvPing again.
What are some good combo's for ranged and melee
I really DO NOT WANT SS/Regen Brutes.
Looking for something that could stand toe to toe in a melee battle and live and not just die in 5 hits something that could live against a stalker as well.
Any one got a good combo? -
My account has been active since Jan something 2012 since F2P was released. Does this mean I get crap? If so thx for screwing a 7year vet player off with another thing.
-
Quote:If u get up to tier 8 you get an amazing thing called /auctionhouse command best thing ever...cept =.= Can't use it in a mission or in your supergroup base.....But saves you from zoning like 50 times just to get to a WW...well let's say you're in the middle of a farm. you can either exit, go to the vendor and sell your 20 temp powers for 40k, or delete them all, save the time and make room for common recipes that are 60k+ a piece and whatever crap snipe/immob/stun recipes you get trying for decent drops. (i delete those too, only thing i vendor are common recipes, but i really hate vendor trips/rezoning
)
-
Quote:I could care less for temp powers, I delete them on the stop only temp power I use is that Mutant temp power and those card flying thignys. Other then that I care less. What pissed me off the most was I ran an ITF a few days ago, popped a windfall you know those uber things that give u nothing but crap IO's well yeah anyways...I gained 12 temp powers and what else...an orig confuse and damage IO and that was it....while three people had purples another had a respec and someone had gotten a lotg global rech...while I got stuck with oh joy...12 worthless temp powers.I can understand how frustrated the op is. Personally I love the temp powers and use them all the time. 1 power i really love is the ST. Louis Slammer. You can craft another recipe even if you already have some uses left in the power thus increasing the amount of uses in it. I've had it up to over 60 uses often times. For low level characters or when being exemplared down to where you don't have many attack powers usable, temp powers come in handy when you're waiting for what powers you can use to recharge. And why delete them? You could sell them to a vendor. Depending on what power it is and what the salvage is to craft it (there are generally 3 versions of the recipes requiring higher and higher level salvage to make. the higher level salvage it requires, the more a vendor will give you for it), you could make as much as 2k or more per recipe at a vendor. It's free inf dude.
And some recipes do go for a few thousand inf in the auction such as the med pack, kinetic dampener. Personally I love the recovery serum. It's saved my butt a few times going solo against elite bosses in missions.
Here is a general list of the craftable temp powers: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Temporar...vention_Powers
Check em out to see which powers do what. You may find certain powers are to your liking. -
I'm getting nothing but temp power recipes yeah I'll get a recipe here and there after gaining like 20 temp powers and it's a crappy recipe that sells for like 100-5k Influ.
I just ran a few trials and got like 4 temp powers and that's it nothing else cept a few salvage but I don't care for salavge drops I want recipes...REAL recipes. I can do any map doesn't matter what one I'll walk out with more temp powers then anything else. Even with all my 50's I can do missions, farms solo on the streets I no matter what get temp powers. I have no need for those worthless temp power recipes and think it's a big mistake the GM's added to this game. -
(First off its like 6am right now I don't know if I posted this in the right section if I did, correct me please.)
So while doing anything on any of my characters while teaming or soloing no matter what I seem to always gather temp power left and right.
I can be farming for drops in BM map and walk out with 6 temp power recipes delete them go back in come back out with like 7 temp power recipes this time and like one orig crappy IO.
What gets me the most, is I popped a Windfall, temp power after temp power after crappy io after temp power in that hour I must of gained about 20 or more Temp Power recipes and normal IO's and only ONE decent IO and that was a Numina's but doesn't matter what lv character I am on or what I am doing I seem to only be getting temp power recipes as drops and it's rather annoying the crap out of me.
Is anyone else having this issues, and Dev's if you see this, what info can you give me about why I am getting more temp power recipes then anything else? I've never had this issue before and when I came back to CoH from being gone for a year all I get majority of the times are Temp Power recipes. -
Quote:Ok I wasn't sure on how far he was or not but for the vet he's a 69 or 72 vet. Which is what 6 years? but w/e.VIP = maintaining a subscription. You can let your sub lapse and become Premium for the duration of not subscribing. You can resubscribe and become VIP again.
Premium = previously VIP but not currently subscribing *OR* previously free but bought PP for use on the market.
Free = accounts created after Freedom launches and have never bought PP or subscribed or applied a retail code *OR* trial accounts created before August 17 and have never bought PP or subscribed or applied a retail code.
edit: if you're really an eight year vet (which is impossible but hey! we'll pretend) you will only lose the VIP-only (e.g. VIP server, Incarnate system, etc.) and PP-only bonuses (e.g. Beam Rifle, Rocket Board, etc.)...everything else should be unlocked via veteran rewards (e.g. MMs and Controllers, invention system, etc).
It confused me understanding it all and wasn't sure about it all so I'd thought I'd ask. So I'll be a prem/vip player either way. If I pay i'll be a vip if I dun I'll be a prem alright makes sence I believe I understand now =o ty. -
I've been playing CoX for quiet some years on three different account. My own account is only three years atm, I read (quoted) "Current City of Heroes subscribers will continue as a VIP player" Does this mean your account has to be active when Freedom goes live to become a VIP? Or even if your account is down at the time but when you are able to buy time and come back that account will become VIP or a normal account?
Cause I'm unable to buy monthly time atm due to money issues, and I'm unsure when i'll be able to reactive my account again. I'd hate to not be able to be a VIP player even tho I've been playing for the amount of time I have been. I'm sure my father wouldn't like being an 8 year vet or so and not being able to be a VIP account because he can't pay for his account either. -
