File that one away with "lol PvP."

No relation to Arachnos!

Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

You know, if enough people keep doing that for a long enough time, eventually it will become the correct way.

That's what's funny about language. In order for it to evolve, a language's rules have to be bent or broken every now and then.

So that's why no one else says "ka-n-ik-t" when pronouncing knight.

Actually it used to be cniht, from the German word knecht, and now you know!

Or is that "ka-now"?

I assert that the Ace Ventura has had a large impact on the popularity of "alright". I think we can all agree that "All righty then!" is silly, whereas "Alrighty then!" makes perfect sense. This is indisputable. Don't even try!

hmm... what show was it that had a news reporter named Gary Gnu. He pronounced the G in gnu, so it was two syllables. As I recall, the news segment was called the No Gnus is Good Gnus Gnus Report. With every single G pronounced.

Actually, just to be pedantic - the German word you quote is from the same root as "cniht", it isn't the root word itself...

I did like the subversive quality the press conference had. I got to play it up like I was doing good, but then Manti shows up to call me on my BS. I liked that little villainous twist.

It's actually apparently an acceptable spelling according to dictionaries and the like. I've never been a huge fan of it myself, but what can you do.

Apparently for more than a century now. I personally change it up depending on where I'm using it. For instance: Alright, the Almighty is all right already.

Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

Ahem. The Dictionary says it's okay. But that's all right, I'm not a big fan of "alright" either.

What's sort of funny is that more people object to "alright" than "okay," which is a much more ridiculous and recent spelling of a term that that was odd to start with.

In other news, I've decided to start writing every sentence starting with a sentential adverb just to mock prescriptivists who continue to believe starting a sentence with the word "hopefully" is less correct than starting it with "really," "of course," or "clearly", like the Gettysburg address just happened last weekend.

"Oll korrect" just doesn't roll off as well.

You know... Admitting that your plot device is crap does not make it any less crap. If anything, it makes it even more so, because you're effectively admitting that you know your storytelling is crap and you're not going to do anything about it.

Moreover, finally having a villain admit to that particular kludge in City of Heroes storytelling strikes me as, finally, the ultimate betrayal of villainy. Our villains have been roped in as lackeys and into doing stuff for the greater good so often they are now just rolling with it.

Ai, ai, ai...

*edit*
Actually, one more thing. A request to our writers: Please stop trying to be cute and funny. It's not working. At all. It's actually getting to be very aggravating.
