You guys need a proofreader.

And yes, the new DA missions are fairly riddled with typos and grammatical errors. But the whole game is, so *shrug*.
Came across this little gem today:
What I find hard to believe is that the dev.'s can easily compile a list of spelling errors with the help of the online community. How hard would it be to have one person on staff once a month, for one shift, simply pull out that list and set to work correcting spelling errors? I bet a pretty significant percentage of the spelling errors could be fixed in even one shift. It shouldn't be that hard.

Nobody mentioned that Tuatha de Dannan is misspelled in the target window?
That particular typo, for whatever reason, makes me
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Before I caught on to the fact that Resistance NPCs in Praetoria have their own "secret language", I was convinced that the game must come from Japan or Korea, or at least have some portion of its development done there. Some of the things Resistance NPCs say read as exactly the kinds of mistakes non-native speakers make when speaking English, or when translating from their own language. For example, using a word that means almost what they meant, but not quite:
"What are we glimpsing for?"
I can see somebody checking their "Other Language to English" dictionary for the word "look" in their own language, and the dictionary suggests, "look, see, search, spy, view, glimpse, etc.", and choosing "glimpse", not realizing it doesn't mean quite what they wanted. This is pretty much the exact mistake I ran into in real life, years ago, when I was a shoe salesman and approached a Mexican man who was looking at some boots. I approached and asked if I could assist him, and he said, "I am seeing only". It took me a second to realize he meant, "I'm just looking".
"Glimpse" is one of the words the Resistance uses a lot, along with "peepers," "slammer" and "chomped."
Woo! I got a twofer this time:
EDIT for clarification: While "earth" is a word that refers to the ground, soil, rocks, etc., in this case it's explicitly referring to a planet by name, and should therefore be capitalized.
The very next mission! How sloppy can one person possibly be!?
Would a proofreader have pointed out that the altercaps writing looks like teenagers on msn?

Anyway, i'm off to go heroically scatter a Nemesis bomb threat across the city. Again.

I've sadly stopped /bugging text and grammar errors as well. I try to skim over such entities when I encounter them in game.
Seriously, though, I imagine there are several players who would be happy to proofread and correct bits of text, both already in-game and in pre-release. I'd certainly be quite happy to help with something like that.

I fully agree. I noticed an error on the character design screen that has been there for years. They have Blasters listed as "Ranged" but I am pretty sure they do not know what the word means since the sets have important PBAoEs and Melee attacks all through them. So, I wonder what they think "Ranged" means...
Found a couple more in the letter writer's arcs. There were no spelling errors that I noticed, but some tricky grammar mistakes:
"Wipeout" should be two words here. It's not "everyday" you encounter this kind of error, but people do seem to use it in "anyway" they can.
"Myself" can be a substitute for "me," but in this sentence it's trying to replace "I" and is therefore incorrect. This actually happened in an earlier bit of dialog, but I let it slide until I saw it again.
Conversely, this one's just the opposite and is using "I" where there should be a "me."

Jack can be used as a diminutive of James, though. Maybe he really has secretly been James Wolfe all along. <.<
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
The real question I'd like to have answered is, "Why?". Why are there spelling and grammatical errors over 5 years old in this game? Why don't these things get fixed?
The sad part is that many programmers consider simple "spelling" errors to be a low-priority fix since they don't impact the performance of the product. What they fail to realize is how much poor spelling and grammar can impact the appearance of the product. Any product with such errors will always look like an inferior, second-class product. This can and will drive-away potential customers.

Please note that I'm not saying there is any truth there, but I don't have access to the demographic profiling that suits do before investing millions in an entertainment product.
Also, programmers have nothing to do with words or story. There's some other poor schmoe who has to edit the database values for every word that appears on screen (and last time I did this kind of work, SQL didn't come with an in-field spell-checker).

But, eh, the reason some of those mistakes are made is the reason why it's so easy to miss them when proofreading.
