if its WAI then being penalized for being true blue hero or for being a bloody red villain is short sighted. IMHO implementing a mechaninc that let you go to the opposite side for the event with travel only powers or more simply how about putting all those contacts (copy of them, not removing from normal locations) in co-op zones; RWZ, PD, Cimrora.

and yes I am being penalized because for my hard work killing I have to throw away most /half my Valentines tips.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

Okay, maybe my understanding is the problem. You said "click on the box/cauldron for completion." In the past you had to destroy the box/cauldron. Has that changed?

You destroy it by clicking on it.

And now that I've nabbed both badges, I think I can drop a bit of feedback.

I really like the concept of the tips, the valentines are all pretty well done and funny or sweet, etc.

I can certainly sympathize with some of the complaints about having tips that are pretty clearly meant for a single alignment, or the ones that offer a choice of a hero contact or a villain contact. Mostly because a number of times I ran into choices that I just did not know where they were before accepting to take it to them, so it was a bit disheartening to pick a choice and see 'Grandville' for example pop up, so I'd have to dismiss the contact.

I think for the future, anything like this just needs to point out where the contact is located -before- you accept the mission. Just add into the write up for when you pick the choice but haven't confirmed it, like "But it would be fun to misdeliver it to Johnny Sonata in St. Martial" or "You can take it to Positron in Steel Canyon" or "Hopefully you can find transit to track down Lady Jane" etc, to indicate whether they're in a zone or in an instance. It won't really stop the villain tip for a hero and vice versa problem, but it would at least let you do the tips that involve a split faction choice and not end up picking an undeliverable choice.

This is my suggestion, as well. I started taking them all just to see where they would lead, after running into some non-hero deliveries which directed me to "Board Transit." It may be too much to ask of the code, but it would be great if there were a way to check the player's alignment, and if the destination were inaccessible, send them to the train for delivery.

One other note: I've only done 25 or so of these (just enough to get both badges on my main character, so far), but I was struck by just how many times the same AI valentine has different recipients. Is there some reason I haven't found yet why there's all the duplication there? Four of my seven misdeliveries for Missed Connection had me going to Burkholder. He probably thinks he has a stalker by now.

I petitioned the tips I couldn't do and was told it was WAI, my options were to abandon the tips (which I had already done) or change my alignment.

I find it pretty crappy that the game can't check your alignment / ability before offering you a contact, being told "you can always change your alignment" seems a bit flippant. I would like to say thank you tho to the GMs for their prompt responses whilst I was querying this, much appreciated.

@Du Hast - how hard is it to drop a tip and just kill a load more level 20 mobs (DA or Sharkhead ftw)? Not very.

Compared to the winter and especially the fall event this is way lower on the fun scale. Started out getting sent to the Ski Lodge door for a mission which I could not enter. Then got hung with the Botched Ritual nerf for almost a day. Then it was a do over for the co-op mission. Then got a bunch a v-card drops I could not deliver anywhere because of my alignment.

Not a rant but... this needs a rethink if the goal is to put it on par with other holiday events.

I am officially putting on my curmudgeon hat.

The need to re-attune myself to having done the cross-faction stuff to unlock the new stuff is retarded.

And I've just seen too many complaints about the unreachable valentines, and had to explain it too many times, to think it was in any way shape or form a good game play/design decision.

Not to sound nasty but when is this poorly constructed crap event over? Since the only result of it is now I have a totally unplayable character I HAD planned to push to 50 this weekend... I'd like to know when I can play without this BS?

(I'm talking about the botched ritual bug that stacks 2-5 times if you log off)

True. We've done a couple and that seems to be the new code. However, before last year, you had to actually use damaging attack powers on them to destroy them. Thanks for the helpful hint.

OK, hate to complain... but I really dislike getting attuned for the Valentine's Day tips. It should simply offer the attunement mission if you already have the Handsome/Beautiful badge.

Also, I still haven't gotten an attunement with any of the three characters that I've re-run the Ganymede/Scratch story arcs with. All they do is send me to DJ Zero for Snaptooth. I have yet to deliver a Valentine. Clearly I'm not doing something right, but it seems like the directions for this event are not particularly clear.

Players get the Valentine tip access from DJ Zero once they've completed the arc from either Ganymede or Scratch - both arcs don't need to be run.

Too bad once you were attenument to do the V-day mission tips you can't just go to any zone as an agent for cupid. That would making doing the arc worth it.

The fact that Heroes can't go Redside when there are longbow over there, and Villians can't go Blueside when there are Archnos there. Is in and of itself stupid. NPC Heroe and Villians can swap but players can't. I was so hoping when I seen my V-day tip was sending me to Nerva Archipelago that this was a hint of crossing sides. But nope. Really why the block on side switching? Why not have contacts for each on both sides?

So how long til the heart emote/aura is purchable from the market? And how much?

That will need a PvP overhaul first

Why? It can't be because of Heroes entering PvP thru the Villian side or vice versa. Since they already have an alignment restricted door check in Pocket D, Vanguard Building, and Midnight Club. As well as Loyalist/Resistance doors on Gold Side. So checking who can enter PVP from what side shouldn't be a problem. Besides Opening up both sides to each would be a cheap way to expand the game.

And completely ruin the 'big selling point' for the 'grey' alignments.

The grey alignments aren't all that useful to begin with, except for badgers and people in the process of switching sides. All you can do (AFAIK, and I'll be happy to be corrected if I'm wrong) in the other side's zone is paper missions and more tip missions. Even doing TFs is annoying, since they (especially blue-side) require you to zone hop a lot and the two main fast zone hopping options, Ouro and WW/BM teleporters, don't work.

Well, while you're limited to what you an *start*, you can effective *join* almost any task on any side. So, you can remain 'redside', but if the action is slow, join in anything happening 'blueside.'

There's already an alignment check on characters enerting PVP zones. My rogue wasn't able to enter Warburg from blueside.

Well, I've not gotten through absolutely everything (ie., I've delivered valentines but not gotten badges for doing so), but apart from having to redo the Ganymede missions again (which was fine since that hero didn't have those badges yet), I've enjoyed it a lot.

...however, it struck me as odd in the Hero-side version of the Red Widow story arc that your character basically wound up committing Grand Theft.

I mean, did you ever get any indication that Crey stole the thing, this justifying you forcing your way in to take it? Because it sure felt like a case of "There's a thing you need. Oh, it's owned by this person. Ignore the fact that it's something in her personal art collection (or whatever), she's evil so you can just take it."

Now, the particular hero I was playing would've been just fine with that reasoning. ;-) But some of my more gold and silver-age style heroes might take issue with it.

Totally agreed, or have them spawn in an instance like they do for some of the other contacts.

Maybe this alt is a villain, but he's not a jerk and he'd deliver it to the right person, if he could get to them.
