  1. SSA2 on villain side featured the creation of their own organization. Where there plans to further this organization in further SSAs, in effect making the villains an enemy group the heroes could fight against?
  2. Thank you for all your hard work. It was a lot of fun to meet you at the final Hero Con and play Apples to Oranges.

As others have said, this is more than just a game to many, many of us. Hell, I met my girl friend through this game.

I hope wherever the Paragon team members land, that the people who hire them truly appreciate the fantastic people joining their teams.

Good fortune, to you and yours. I'm going to go cry some more now.
  3. Right now, my first character, a Merc/FF MM made lo those many years ago, is sitting on his couch drinking beer, eating pretzels, and thinking to himself that this is the most brilliant psy op he's ever seen. And he's staying well away from any body of water bigger than a bathtub.

Totally agreed, or have them spawn in an instance like they do for some of the other contacts.

Maybe this alt is a villain, but he's not a jerk and he'd deliver it to the right person, if he could get to them.
  5. re the O in IMNSHO: I had to put opinion in there twice because lack of coffee leads me to typing extra words, which is aided by the addition of medication to handle the pain of the partial root canal I had.

Of course your YMMV with regards to lack of caffeine and pain medication, (and yes, I included the your twice on purpose ).
  6. After the (IMNSHO opinion) fiasco of the Gunslinger set, I thought I'd share this one:

  7. The female options seem more City of Unforgiven than City of Heroes to me. And pre-tinting?

Yet another optional set I'll pass on, which is a shame as I have an alt that could use some of the male options, without being pre-tinted.

Since Plan 6 had not at all worked out like he thought it would, Lord Recluse considered that it was perhaps time to try Plan 9, the one that Black Scorpion had thought up.

  10. Hi all,

I've been getting sound loop crashes during raids, and now even when I'm soloing my machine is starting to crash. The new solo crashes are a black screen of death - no sound loop, the screen goes black and I have to reboot the machine.

I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop.
I've tried updating the driver using Mobility Modder but I've not had any luck with getting the new driver to load.
My video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 4650 HD
Sound card is the on board one.

The crashes are fairly recent, within the last month.

    Here's my COH Helper file:

  11. My machine:
Sony Vaio VGN-FW530F, with Windows 7 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM, and an AMD 4650 Radeon Mobility.

I crashed out 3 times yesterday during the 1st red side Hami raid and twice on the second while on Virtue.

Sony, in their infinite wisdom has only the original factory driver available and their tech told me to "keep checking back for a possible update". The latest AMD driver is from 12/13/10 - not even a month old.

I've tried Mobility Modder, but I might be doing it wrong, but it appears the latest drivers don't work with it.

I checked Omega's website for a driver, and it looks like they no longer offer an alternative.

Sony has it setup so you have to use their driver (though why they'd do that is beyond me, it just makes me want to never buy another Sony laptop).

Do I have any other options besides reinstalling my OS to get rid of Sony's control software?

Is there another way to get my driver updated?
  12. First off, welcome to Virtue!

If it hasn't already been mentioned, I'd add:

    * Put "Looking for RP teams" in your search function. Some people do read them.
    * Join the RP Virtue channel
*Ask if there are any RP teams running, sometimes RPers PUG too

As for creativity, do what sounds fun to you. For example:

My girl friend played a Warshade who wasn't a Kheldian - she time slipped here during a race (turns out that old hackneyed "time travel by slingshotting around the sun in Star Trek wasn't so hackneyed) and the nova and dwarf forms were part of her emergancy survival gear.

My Warshade is cephalopod/human/REDACTED hybrid that "escaped" Aeon labs. After they left a lot of doors open between him and the outside world.

I have alts that range from normal humans who are exceptionally skilled, to outright gods. The important thing to remember is that RPing should be fun for all, so make sure you interact with people and don't just talk about yourself, or make yourself all powerful. No one wants to hang around with someone who just talks about themselves or tells them what their character does.

How long will you be keeping this open?

I'm at work and I'm having (hopefully to resolved tonight) computer issues.
  14. Well nuts!

I didn't check this forum till today, I could have entered my DB/WP Brute Headsplitter and his "Santa's Hungriest Elf" costume!
  15. Anyone have any experience with that?

I'm trying out Musculature on my BS/Regen scrapper, but was curious to know if the healing component of the SRB would be a worthwhile alternative.
  16. Well nuts.

I hope you're leaving for all the right reasons.

While I haven't always agreed with your decisions, I have respected the reasoning behind them.

    Good fortune and Godspeed.
  17. I 5 slotted Cosmic Burst with Absolute Amazement and it was money well spent IMO.

Combined with the /Rad debuffs, I have stunned Heroes and Arch Villains, as well as the occasional GM during a Hami raid.
  18. You can count me in on this as well, I'll be watching for annoucements.
  19. I'll chime in with the "Extend it a week crowd!"

With the commute to my new job, I get an hour or two of playtime a night, plus maybe 8 hours on the weekend. I still have alts from previous years that'd I like to badge up and get candy canes for. This is a pretty thin timeline for even the ones I'm willing to short list for this.

    Purple Drop Rate

I don't remember the last time I got a purple, and I split my time between my 50's and leveling my other alts.

I was playing daily up until about 5/3, and even then I think I had one purple drop in 5 months - at that point I was playing mostly my 50 red siders.

    RNG is Random.
  21. So the Kinetic Combat chance for Knockdown would be worth it though?
  22. Oh Market, you so crazy!

time to dump a bunch of stuff and hopefully cash in.
  23. Poison's strength is not in AoE heals or Debuffing (though a well slotted Neurotoxic breath can do some wonderful things) but in single target debuffing.

I have a 50 Bots/Poison MM and the only complaint I've had is that his rez makes you puke; the animation roots you, so I warn people.

To put it another way, /poison is not a great set for taking out large groups, it's good for taking out small numbers of more powerful foes. Especially if slot it up.

A /poison working in concert with a rad and/or kin can accomplish some great things.

I did an ITF once with a rad/rad corr who'd slotted their attacks for debuffing and a /kin controller. The rest of the team was scrappers and brutes. We fought our way through all the mobs, and steamrollered everything, including Rommie. We finished in well under an hour and had one death (me, due to a TP mishap - to close to TP my pets with, close enough that I got aggro without being bodyguarded).
  24. Okay, correct me if I'm wrong here, but why would end red affect your demons end use and not just yours.

My understanding is that the end red component of IOs only affected the cost of summoning the pets not the cost of the pets use of their powers.
