Regen and Spiritual Radial Boost
Anyone have any experience with that?
I'm trying out Musculature on my BS/Regen scrapper, but was curious to know if the healing component of the SRB would be a worthwhile alternative. |
If you're maxed already, it won't help too much.
I have IH, FH, and Health lightly slotted for regen, so the heal component definitely helped there. Passive regen was pushed to just under 70hp/sec, and IH throws that up to 161hp/sec (6.7%/sec)
Definitely worth it, unless you're Iggy and like moar damage!
I hate to be the bringer of bad news... but Willpower sucks!!! you're better off rolling a regen

Dull Pain, Reconstruction, and Instant Healing are all on timers that benefit from more Recharge. In addition to that, all your survivability is based on HP regen (not including PPs and set bonuses) so I'd say the best for you would definitely be the Rech/Heal Alpha.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
Its what I keep slotted mainly on my claws/regen
Main benefit for the secondary, MOG and IH up faster (they are not fully slotted for recharge), then the passive regen gets full effects from that.
(FH has two slots and health just the base one)
@Catwhoorg "Rule of Three - Finale" Arc# 1984
@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
I have three level 50 /Regen characters, and this is what I have chosen on all of them.
Eventually I will want the more rare versions of Spiritual Core, but for now Spiritual Radial makes more sense because the Uncommon Spiritual Core has no healing component.
Blue
American Steele: 50 BS/Inv
Nightfall: 50 DDD
Sable Slayer: 50 DM/Rgn
Fortune's Shadow: 50 Dark/Psi
WinterStrike: 47 Ice/Dev
Quantum Well: 43 Inv/EM
Twilit Destiny: 43 MA/DA
Red
Shadowslip: 50 DDC
Final Rest: 50 MA/Rgn
Abyssal Frost: 50 Ice/Dark
Golden Ember: 50 SM/FA
I'm a sucker for more recharge. I think most my guys are getting Spiritual, though my DB/DA is currently enjoying Cardiac.

What are you doing to get 70hp/sec?
Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind
OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!
I must be doing something wrong. Mine's around 50hp/sec.

I said passive but I meant with Integration on and DP running (since it's permanent). The difference is likely in my inability to communicate effectively.
1.78% passive (29.71 hp/s) (42.96 hp/s DP up)
2.87% with integration. (47.84 hp/s DP down) (69.16 hp/s DP up)
7.08% with IH, Integration, and DP (170.64hp/s)
This is what I'm running:

Then I'm getting similar numbers to you then.

The devs have states that the purpose of the alpha slot is to shore up weaknesses in your build, which makes sense right now. You get the most benefit slotting an alpha that has the least ED penalties on it.
However, once we get access to the higher tier alphas, the top end ones will have 2/3 ED negation and Core Paragon is going to have the level shift +1, 2/3 ED bypass, 45% recharge and 33% heal. This will probably be the best one suited for scranking with regen, period. Your multiple "Oh ****!" buttons will all recharge faster and heal/regen for a noticeable amount more. The ED bypass is just icing on the cake.
I use the Spiritual Radial Boost on my MA/Regen, and both enhanced aspects work very well on my toon. As said before, getting more recharge on a /regen toon is always great. Even if you do hit ED on some of your powers' recharge times, every little bit helps particularly on long recharge powers like IH, MoG, and DP, not to mention other powers like Hasten, Conserve Power, attacks, etc.
The healing aspect will have a marginal effect on your total build provided you did your best to max out the healing aspects of your powers. Since slots tend to run out on the most pimped out builds, the Spiritual radial boost could probably have a greater impact on some of the lesser regen powers like Fast Healing and Health, under the assumption that the one or two slots in those powers would probably have a unique IO proc (like the Miracle's, or Numina's). You'd get a few more HP/sec to your regen outside of IH.
And depending on build, IH might not be maxed out on healing, but rather on recharge, so the Spiritual Radial Boost could have a greater impact on that power too.
I'm trying out Musculature on my BS/Regen scrapper, but was curious to know if the healing component of the SRB would be a worthwhile alternative.

I imagine that as we move into the Rare and Very Rare levels of the Alpha Slot we're gonna start seeing some truly ridiculous Regeneration Numbers. Of course, I'm more interested in getting my attack chain, IH, Shadow Meld and MoG to recharge faster (and maybe save some slots!) but I sure won't say no to the increase in raw healing either.
I just can't see any good reasons for any /Regen character to use anything but the Spiritual line of Alphas. I'm sure there are reasons, but I don't see any that aren't completely outweighed by the sheer amount of benefits /Regen gets from both +Recharge and +Heal.
In short, yes, the +Heal in Spiritual is more than worthwhile on /Regen and will only get better as we get into the Rare and Very Rare versions.
