Looking at option B and C and thinking about past costume sets, i guess that B and C will be pre-tinted!?

A clarification for this in the starting post would be great as there is a number of people (me included) who donĀ“t like that whole pre-tinting thing.

here's a question that i think the know the answer to...

Is there anyway that we can have it so we can turn on/off the glowy bits?
I think it is no, but not sure. I would think that if it is it would change which one i voted on.

If B is picked, can we at least make it so the glow isn't the same color as the material directly under it like what you did with the Elemental Order set? White glow on white fabric just kind of loses the effect. I'd much prefer to have black fabric and then have a green glow and green secondary colors, for example.

I say D All of the above but if I must choose then A

I choose C. It looks more generic and easier to mix-and-match existing detail textures with. A and B are very close to the Defense set, thus I vouch for variation.

I voted C but really would prefer C's gloves and boots and B's glowing body. The rings around the gloves and boots aren't possible to recreate elsewhere; there are already a lot of sets that look close to B's accessories.

I like C, but does it have a metallic effect on the suit? It looks like it in the picture. That would really hinder its mixing and matching potential, so I think I'm going to vote for A instead.

I vote for C, A is okay and B looks too much like the existing stealth costume pieces.

I like B the best IMO, but C has the bestest Boots.(the rings are AWESOME).

SO I say B with a dash of C's boots:P

#1 ... I *want* that Glow you've got scheduled for option B! That Glow was the deciding factor in my vote. For the rest, I'll just break things dow according to how the Costume Creator organizes stuff.

Chest, Bottoms and Sleeves
I have a strong preference for the "Stealth Suit like" flexible fabric regions shown in Design B. Those are the most "sensible" and also offer the greatest opportunity for Two Tone Regions of the three available choices. My only regret with Design B is the front facing zipper. Zippers like that are hardly pressure proof, making this less of a "space" suit (of the vacuum protection variety) than options A and C. For the record, I don't care too much for the buttons/studs along the edges of Design B ... although if they were pre-tinted Brass, that would be totally Retro Sci-Fi.

Chest Detail
I *very much* like the choice of Design A for having a Chest Detail plate with Das Blinken Lighten on it.

Shoulders
This is a harder pick, since none of the shoulders really "reach out and grab me" as the obviously most superior choice. Of the three though, I'd say that the shoulders on Design A are the most Retro Sci-Fi in my view. To be honest though, I'd rather use something like the original Smooth Shoulders piece as a hard shoulder plate than any of the options given here. Taking the original Smooth Shoulders costume part, and giving it glowing edges would work quite well, I'm thinking.

Gloves
I like Design B's gloves best of all since they're "work gloves" in appearance. However, a case could easily be made for Design A's gloves to be included also as a Light/Heavy option, like we see with other costume sets (such as Vanguard Light/Heavy Gloves). So if possible, I'd want both A and B Gloves to be made available with this set.

Belt
Nothing really special here, since the Belt on Design B is essentially a stock and standard Office Worker belt that already exists in the game. Now ... if this were a hip holster for a ray gun pistol (or two, see already existing Official Belt with police nightstick and radios for comparison) ... that would be different.
Another option would be to take the example of Design A's Chest Detail and give us a Sci-Fi Tech Belt that has control panels with Das Blinken Lighten on it too.

Boots
Of the various Boot choices, for me the hands down favorite is Design B. One thing that I do want to specify is that just looking at the picture, I see the knee protection in Design B as being something that is a part of the Tucked In Bottoms, rather than as something that is a geometry projection from the Boot itself. So the knee protectors in Design B are cloth on the legs, rather than plates on the boots. I also strongly prefer the boot treads on Design B to either A or C.

Backpack
Notably absent from all three designs is any sort of Backpack option. I'm thinking Apollo Era styled EVA backpack used for environmental support would be the way to go here, although perhaps not scaled quite so large. You could also repurpose the Holiday Jingle Jet and/or Longbow Eagle Jetpack here as a way to give an appropriately Retro Sci-Fi look to the entire costume set.

About Design C ...
When I look at Design C, I don't see a Sci-Fi "space suit" so much as I see a Space 1899 Knight In Plate Mail Armor. It looks like something more fit for robotics than humans, and makes for a much better ARMORED look than either A or B. I'd even go so far as to say that Design C would make a good start for a Medieval Costume Set (minus the Sci-Fi bits on the Gloves and Boots). I just look at Design C and think "metal plates" for some reason.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

C looks great, could double as powered armor, but I had to go with B, because GLOWS! Every time I'm punching out a Rikti boss, I pause to admire their glowy uniform.

nice looks, tough choice.

I went C, it had the accordian pleated elements I picture in retro looks. And as much as I liked B, there aren't any glowing lines on any retro suits my memory provides me...

EDIT: BTW, I love the option to vote on the concept art. Well played in terms of follow-up to the initial phase of this effort.

So, I picked C.

Reasons--- I think that the chest , pants from the others (sans glow lines) might be faked using existing parts. I think that chest and pants option from B, glow and all, could be put in a Future Sci Fi pack and no I'm not kidding. I can see flexibility for the C chest piece, gloves an boots, C's got neat shoulder extenders, solid ribbing on the chest.

I'm really hoping you can get the Chest detail from 1. If the lights could be animated...zomg! But I'd take it either way. Make it one of those weekly one shot sales =].

For me this is all about how a Retro Sci Fi suit would fit in with a superhero world. Oh and for the textures.. please let them not be so starkly different from our older sets, so mixing an matching is feasible.

B, because glowing lines on costumes are neato.

If A had a glow, it would get my vote. Really like that chest box and such. But I love my glows, and I do like the stealth-like styling, so B got my vote.

Hoping I can ask this without launching a full flamefest or anything:

Will there be a female version of this? I have at least one female character who'd use a retro space suit and isn't suited to typical space-bunny gear.

A got my vote simply for its retro goodness. I hope there's a 'cute' female version.

When I think of 'Retro Spacesuit', I immediately think of Ulala from Space Channel 5:

The glows are nice, but do not make a costume. I like the boots and gloves from C, but prefer the entirety of A to the 'armored' look of C.

A for me. Love the retro look, the spot for a unit patch on the upper arm, and the boxy regulator/controls on the chest.

I voted A

Exactly my thoughts Moo.

Prior to all this I made this look concept with pre existing costume. (Image Link Below) Now with some of the new stuff I have access to I could easily up date this look to make it even better. Which I plan to do tonight as I am inspire.
Oh and this costume is Unisex friendly

I voted C because I feel the accordion joints are essential to a retro sci-fi suit. I do hope the body parts are some sort of flexible material, and not metal. And I'm hoping it's shiny, but not color-reflective.

I do wish we could have the chest detail from A with the accordion joints.

It's awesome that we get to vote on this!

Exactly my thoughts too MrMoo

But I would also love ALL options - and although I have voted, I reserve the right to change my mind depending on how female options affect the overall look.
