Why I've quit as a VIP

I don't think you can really "quit" a free-to-play game, but I've decided to stop my billing, and just stay free... and since that means I lose all of the Incarnate stuff, I suspect it will mean I'm not going to log in often or at all.

But, I've cut the billing because the only reason TO pay (IMO) is the Incarnate trials, but no one is seeming to run any of the new ones (like older than Underground) -- I gave it three different times, during "prime time", on Friday/Saturdays, and nothing, nada, nyet.

"Triumph is dead" means there's very little point logging in, and especially to pay for the content that no one seems to be running (except speed runs of the "easy" bits)

I've had a ton of fun up until this point, but my account is turned off 1/5.

And no, you can't have my stuff!

Just wait a few months, they're kicking out a whole incarnate zone to play around in.

Yup it will probably be a while before people are regularly doing the newer trials, and doing them successfully; at least on Triumph. I know of Fusion Force successfully doing a TPN the other night. Ever since Skyrim hit I think everyone took a break and now Triumph can barely pull off a BAF without failing, and now with SWTOR I barely see anyone on during weekdays. Weekend nights seem to be the active periods for Triumph nowadays, and even nights in general sometimes.

Anyway, we'll miss seeing you VP! Hope your holidays are merry and all that good stuff.

I don't log in much during the holidays with all the different places I have to be for family get-togethers. Tonight was the first time I've actually been on for more than about five minutes this week.

Sorry. I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Yeah, I wish I could have joined that run, but I had already promised to do something else.

Which is why I'm not leading trials atm. Maybe I should return to my tyrannical self.

This would be the other reason I'm not doing trials atm.

Well, you CAN...

Ages back, during one nerdrage sh**storm or another (one of very many...), I suggested the addition of a /nerdragequit command. It was supposed to:
  1. Log you out of the game
  2. Delete all your characters
  3. Uninstall the game
  4. Cancel your CoH billing
  5. Block you from ever re-installing the game

Sadly, this feature has yet to be added. A one-step process would make it MUCH easier for some of those folks to "put their money where their mouth is", so to speak.

Please note, I am not trying to imply that you ARE one of those people. Your OP was far too rational.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Triumph, what the s**t? BAF is the easiest Incarnate trial there is.

Yeah, I am thinking of pulling my active toons off of this server. Something I never wanted to do because this was my original server, made my first 50 here. But after playing on Virtue it stays active over there. Oh well, it was fun and as others have said try another server before stopping, the trials are fun when run regularly and I know on Virtue they run them all pretty routinely.

Maybe there is just too many servers if we have more dead ones than active.

I see people here say the BAF is easy etc... all the time. One thing I think that has been lost with a statement like this is perspective.

I recently dinged another 50 and set him on the incarnate path like I had my 35 other 50's. Recently, it appears quite a few people dinged 50 over the holidays and were bringing their recent 50+0 to the BAF and LAM. The fail rate was MUCH higher than it had been and this was with veteran incarnate players with multiple I trial runs that knew exactly what to do.

Try a 24 man BAF with 3/4 non level shifted toons on a "PUG" and you begin to realize there is a WIDE gap in performance of a majority 50+0 league vs a majority 50+++ league and that failing ANY of these trials can and does happen.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Between a new MMO out, Skyrim, and alot of us just taking a break for I22, Triumph is not dead but just taking a quick nap.

Ran a BAF today with a bunch of people I don't know and it worked out well. Was a little rougher than I'm used to on Pinnacle and Virtue, but a success nonetheless.

From my POV, the issue I saw with the 3 teams was too much buff and blast, and not enough beef. Three teams with just 5 melees. The squishies were pulling the AVs for Pete's sake. Was standing there on my kin/rad def and wondering when the tank was going to go get Nightstar and/or Siege. They didn't. I think it was Snowglobe's blaster that went after Nightstar and got plastered.

That's no good. Need some balls-to-the-walls sack of HP to fetch the AVs next time. Unfortunately all my Triumph 50s are defenders and corruptors or I'd bring my own beef. Is this typical of Tri iTrials?

I was on that baf i think If its the one where my ice/cold corruptor Mr Damz was on anyway

Edit: Though from what i saw, that baf i was on had almost no deaths i think and no prisoners escaped too so was a very smooth run imo

There was one escapee on my run. A few deaths. Worked out in the end, but I can see where if that team attempted the 'harder' trials it would've gotten ugly.

Right now on Tri, yes. Alot of your vets are waiting on I22 or playing "the other game" right now. I was on last night for a bit but only because I was killing time waiting on crafting...
BTW, the SSA are fun to run on redside.

Nope, I wasn't even present during the Nightstar phase that run as I crashed (typical 4 trial memory leak crash) during the first phase. I didn't make it back until the middle of the prisoners phase.

I'll also point out that I'm pretty sure that there was a brute on the league.

The point you don't seem to realize is that on a smaller server like Triumph, WE CAN'T BE PICKY. As a trial leader, I can't CHOOSE what people bring. I can (and do) adapt strategies depending on team make-up. Do I always succeed? No. However there was a tank and a brute if I recall. If a blaster tried pulling then they did so on their own.

We don't get the luxury of pre-tailoring leagues. If we did, forming trials would take even longer than they normally do (up to 40 minutes for a regular Lambda).

Yes, as proven with the MoM trial, and with the Lambda after.

Ok I saw you die, and figured that was from a pull attempt not a dc. Still, the folks I saw pulling Nightstar were not the tanks or brutes. This was the last BAF before your logged for a time.

I was mid-field when I crashed that run. I came back dead. Though I thought I was on the west side of the tennis courts at the time.

As to pulling, there are a number of players with durable toons that aren't tanks or brutes. If they do something that will get themselves killed on a BAF and won't affect the league, well that is their problem.

The new download recently has made many player's video cards obsolete even though before they were fully supported.

This is discussed in the Bugs and Technologies section. Many people including yours Trolly cannot access the game well enough to play. My new Video Card is in the mail.

Now saying that, there are some awesome new Beta stuff going on that has split people trying out like the new Incarnate and new powers up the yin yang. New costume pieces etc.

That is taking away people as well.

The evil of Schrim and a rival new MMO based on a popular movie franchise has had us drop people who are normally on.

I personally hate Incarnate, because I hate Farming and Grinding, the new Zone Change, I hope will make it more fun for me.

When I actually remember to pop those lucks before trying to pull with my Blaster, my success rate soars upward.
