Tanks are already tougher, however, they gain just as much, if not more.
My current Inv/WM Tank sits a softcapped defense to all but psi with 2 enemies in range, 90% resistance to S/L/F/C, 70% resistance to E/N, 50% resistance to Psi and 55% to Toxic. -

Is there a Mids app for andriod? If not that would be a nice addition.

Quote:Seconded, as for anyone that questions what I had to say about brutes and fury, most of you all are talking about low level game play, which is now about 1% of the gameplay with DFBs and DiBs, Once you include SOs Brutes need 80% fury to equal a Scrappers DPS and that doesn't include red inspirations or buffs like build up. 80% Fury isn't that easy to keep moving in the later levels my brute, at level 35, was soloing /x6 and I would say the Fury was averaged around 150% damage there would be some spikes to 165% but by the time I made it to the next mob it was down to about 130%. I wouldn't call that an easy start by far.If durability is a question when you are driving a scrapper then there is a very strong possibility you are doing something that could be improved upon significantly.
The only point I wanted to make was that for a beginner it is easier to rely on critical hit than it is the fury bar, which is why a lot of you recommended WP over Regen, requires less babysitting.
When you know what you are doing Brutes are some nice beasts, and can take in and dish out more than Scrappers, however, a Brute not knowing what they are doing and running around trying to keep their fury up can eat more dirt than Blasters. -
Quote:To me that just null and voided what you were trying to say. For me, not just because I am a scrapper fan, but I would have to say Scrappers are a bit easier than brutes to play, you don't have to keep up with much, and you don't have to learn anything, just wait for the critical hit.A brute is probably more straightforward than a scrapper since fury completely dominates everything at low level and masks slotting deficiencies at higher levels. Sure, a player as green as this may not exactly understand fury, but who says you have to understand it for it to be effective? Just about any primary would be good, as would most secondaries: the fact that all of them are sticky is another point toward ease of use for novices.
I'd say most villain ATs require a learning curve (exception being Corrs) I'd say MMs have the steepest learning curve and far from the easiest AT to play if you want to play them to their full potential, you have to control/micromanage pets, lay down debuffs/buffs, and if you are teamed watch for your teammates. Doms are not too far behind, you have to know how to actively defend yourself by laying down controls so that you can't be hurt and attack without repercussions. Stalkers require a good bit of tactic knowledge, you need to know which enemy to take out first so you have the least collateral damage when coming out of hide, it's an overall tactical AT, I love it and I love what they have done with it. Brutes require the least learning, attack and keep moving, but one needs to fully understand the concept of fury and that it is a constant and you have to keep it up to maintain the damage (yes, a noob asked me why his fury bar was not staying still.) VEATs, I wish you still had to be 50 to unlock these bad boys, I hate seeing Soldiers running around with no TT:M.
As with others, I would also maybe recommend blasters, my first toon was a Fire/Fire blaster and I took him all the way to 50 and it made me appreciate everything any other AT had to offter. As far as easy goes, I'd say blasters are pretty easy to play, just point and shoot. -
I was addicted to MA as a primary for sometime, then I decided to venture out and try different primaries, so I don't have a favorite melee primary anymore.
Now I can't seem to find any other defense set other than Invul for Tanks and Scrappers, it just seems to be a great all around set, great resists, great defense, great debuffs resists, and a heal that takes you to the HP cap. I haven't found a reason to take Unstoppable yet. It's just so solid, I tend to like it better than WP, I mean WP is nice, but the only exotic damage it can take is Psi, when it comes to F/C/E/N doesn't have much but defense, on top of that WP has 0 def debuff resists which I found is huge in later levels. WP is a nice set with a lot to offer, I originally found it to be my favorite, but after playing Invul through to the end, I found WP to have a few more holes in it's game.
As far as elemental Types I am a fan of Fire and Ice. I like them both evenly, however, I tend to edge more for fire because it is cosmetically better to me. -
For Scraps this is pretty nice, if I have space after Provoke, then I go with Confront, but provoke is nice enough to pull things and semi Tank or fully Tank when there isn't one, and it makes brutes work harder.
-
On Beta, I had it on my Dark/Ice Dom, in the ST hold. It usually stacked about 3 times, I felt a little like a brute because I was running from mob to mob trying to keep my damage up. I didn't mind it because AoE immob, AoE stun, AoE feaer, tons of tohit debuffs, and an attack dog made it all the easier and funner.
-
It has a cone AoE and a Targeted AoE, in order to get the most of both of those you have to position yourself. Whereas with with MA you get a PBAoE that can get super boosted crits. But I am just an MA fan, I was a bit disappointed when I found out StJ didn't come with a PBAoE.

Quote:You do know the resist cap for Blasters is 75% right? Other than Force and Elec Mastery I don't think any other set can touch it.
Fire mastery has some good resistances, with tough it's easily capp'd at 45% S/L. For a ranged player it's also good to have due to bonfire and char. Both are handy mitigation abilities. Rise of the Phoenix is fantastic for a blaster, especially if you faceplant often. It provides that rewarding "HAH!" when your body explodes and you emerge to crush the ones who wronged you.- It's also notable that bonfire can juggle (bounce in place) large enemies, like malta robots.
Other than that all other points were pretty good, I'd have to say that Mace Patron is pretty top tier in my book for Blaster Epics, I mean, comes with a hold (Which is nice to stack on sets that have a hold), AoE damage, AoE immob, 3 Pets, and a high defense Shield, it's hard to turn any of those down, the only downside is the redraw, if you can get past that, it is a nice set to have. -
Quote:Tooks some time to make this for you, didn't know a few things though, like what powers you really wanted in your set or what Epic or Patron your were going with. I created this though.I got a ton of purples for control sets so I am going to make a Mind/Psi that perma dom. My biggest issue when using mids is that I feel like I am running out of slots. I am trying to make it where I can solo good because I have slotted attacks and make it perma. I am also looking into 2 possible setups, one with hasten and the other without it if its possible to perma dom without hasten. Also does having a certain alpha slot help on this? Should I wait till the ATIOs come out before finalizing the build choices?

Has a total of 143.8% recharge, without hasten. And to me a lot of your powers feel fully slotted, with the exception of a few. I also managed to get you about 35% defense to S/L/E. Just take look and let me know what you think. -
Yeah, I am thinking of pulling my active toons off of this server. Something I never wanted to do because this was my original server, made my first 50 here. But after playing on Virtue it stays active over there. Oh well, it was fun and as others have said try another server before stopping, the trials are fun when run regularly and I know on Virtue they run them all pretty routinely.
Maybe there is just too many servers if we have more dead ones than active. -
Quote:I don't know, a lot of the stuff that is cheap is either cheaply purchased with Rewards Merits, worth 1 A Merit, or is something that drops often. My guess is that enhancements will mostly segregate into three types: cheap, moderate, and expensive.
When the cheap stuff can be converted into expensive stuff, people will do that and that will deplete the cheap stuff and increase the supply of the expensive stuff. You'll end up with a lot less cheap stuff lingering on the markets, a higher supply of the really expensive stuff, and the moderate stuff will not move around too much: some will convert it, some will continue to sell it.
The interesting thing will be whether this causes people to run a lot more task forces. Because the intrinsic value of a merit has just potentially gone way, way up.
I would imagine there would be more True Hero and Villain Alignments. 1 A merits gets you 10 Converters.
More than anything there might be a drop in prices. Though, I could be wrong, I was certain with the way A merits worked the market prices would have dropped, however, LotG's are still about 100 mil.
I will say this much though, I take advantage of it all, and for a while now, I haven't had to buy anything but purples from the market, now all those bad purple drops I get can turn into something good. -
Here's the thing, a lot more people won't have to use the market anymore, with a combination of A merits, Reward merits, and Incarnate merits, I can buy the cheapest thing there and turn it into greatness and not have to deal with the market at all.
I mean with all the options the only time you would have to use the market is if you were lazy. Lucky for me I like to work.
I know this much, I won't look on the market for another purple again, time to turn those crappy purple drops into something great, and I usually get about 2 a day, so this works perfectly.
Guess I shouldn't speak too soon, need to see what the drop rate is like for these. -
Well the OP is taking maneuvers, so clearly the shields will be there. Also, I feel pretty sorry for anyone that put cosmetics over survival.
-
I will try my best not to do any bashing to the OP.
But there is not enough detail to back up what you want. What secondary are you playing with? What level are you playing at? What other powers do you have?
Honestly at lower levels CoT is rough for a lot of sets and ATs, usually up until you get SOs.
I have one Dual Blader and he has /SR secondary, this made it easier to avoid to hit debuffs. Since it is not something shared across all secondaries, I don't think it is broken.
Here are some quick suggestions...
I will start with the easiest.
1. Avoid missions with CoT.
2. Purple and Yellow Insperations, Defense helps you avoid the to hit debuff altogether and the yellows keep you afloat when a couple get through. Unless you are fighting the Earth Casters then there aren't many defense debuffs you have to worry about.
3. Tactics from the power pool, Maneuvers is a good pre req for any Scrapper and if you are worried about your to hit, Tactics would be the way to go for you.
4. I take it since you can post on the forums you are a VIP, so go the IO route, it is a good permanent solution. The Kismet unique gives you a 6% to hit boost and is cheap and easily slottable, also building for accuarcy is cheap altogether. Or you can frankenslot for damage and accuracy.
If all else fails, form a team, or at minimun team up with a buff/debuff AT, Corrs, Defenders and Controllers like the help in the early levels, MMs, you might not have to do any work.
Also there were some good tips given out, off the top of my head, someone mentioned starting off with Blinding Feint, in the TO and DO levels that's what I did, I would start with that power, go into the Weaken Combo then the Empower combo.
But just because you have a Kryptonite doesn't mean the set is broken, combo system is an Acc focused system so enemies with -tohit and high defense aren't going to be your friend. Honestly it's like saying you want a buff for Invul because you can't take on a group of Seers lol. -

Quote:An AoE fear + Temps pets with fear + The possiblity T9 Pet with some fear power, With the first two it already does more fear than any other control set.More fear please! Seriously. I'd like for this set to be truly unique. Focusing on the fear factor would be fabulous for my fellow control freaks.
Actually those two fear powers make this set have the most fear factor in the game all other sets with a fear only have one fear power
Dark Miasma - Fearsome Stare
Mind Control - Terrify
Illusion Control - Spectral Terror
Dark Melee - Touch of Fear
Dark Armor - Cloak of Fear
So Surprisingly with two AoE fear powers this set has the most fear control in the game.
But that is really enough, fear is a soft control, I perfer to have plenty of hard controls, good thing this set has a good amount, loving the Confuse, not that big of a fan PBAoE stun, but I think if I use Fearsome Stare first then jump in and then PBAoE stun, jump back AoE immob and summon pets and toss a confuse or two. -
Thanks for the info Arbiter Hawk. I am really liking the changes to Stalkers, Can't wait to see what the new incarnate zones are going to be like either.
Any hope of us getting any info on Dark Control, really sitting on the edge of my seat about that one more than anything.
Also will there be a release of any new incarnate slots in i22? -

Quote:Yeah, a friend of mine has an RP VEAT VG in Virtue, it was all 8 Huntsman, we did Couple of Paper and Tip mishes and then we did a Ice Mistral SF...8xVEAT team
You will wonder why there hasn't been a military coup in Rouge Islands.
I don't remember losing any HP, I know for a fact we had 0 Deaths. We all had TT:M and Power Pool Maneuvers, Then think about 8 Venom Grenades with 8 Suvallences and 16 Spiders running around, almost felt like we were cheating. It was fun to hear those guns going off though.
I have ran an all Scrapper Apex and other various super 8's for fun, but I will say by far not much comes close.
Well there was that 8 Man Mind/Permadom team we ran a LRSF got to say that was the easiest too. Wasn't too much fun though.
I would love to see an 8 Fire/Rad Controller team. -
Didn't know how much of an option money was, but this build probably costs...a lot to say the least. But here it is

Pretty much, I kind of understood where you were going with the Regen so I wanted to focus on getting as much as possible for you, in each of your ranged attacks you are IO slotted for about 28%, I also didn't want to lose sight of the main focus...recharge outside of hasten you have about 116% which is enough to give you perma hasten. Some added perks include 92% global accuracy through set bonuses, and with powerboost active your defenses should be about high 20s close to 30. I also included the damage procs in a lot of powers, I mean you were kind of already at the ED damage cap all of your powers so I just replaced what wasn't necessary to give you a bit more of a damage boost.
Also, on my Mids Explosive Blast was not coming up for me so I left 49 open and Slotted Energy Torrent as if it were Explosive Blast and 49 was going to put Torrent there and just Frankenslot it with 2 extra slots.
