Confront, do you take it?
I have on some, but not most of my scrappers. Kinda nice to have it on a Fire scrapper.

I have it on a couple of them, but only in cases where I had an extra power choice that I literally couldn't think of anything else to put in. To me it's at that level of 'take something just to fill the spot' occupied by powers such as recall friend - that is, potentially nice to have occasionally, but less important than literally anything else. If scrappers had access to taunt instead I'd be much more tempted, but as it stands neither of the main active aggro management powers available to scrappers (confront and provoke) are good enough to really move beyond that level, given that aggro management isn't really the AT's thing.

This is what it means to be a tank!
I never take it.
Edit: To be fair, I usually solo or duo, and almost never play on large teams. I still can't imagine a situation where I'd want it, though. If I want to taunt something, I stab it in the face.

I think I have it on one or two of my scrappers. Partially, as others have mentioned, there wasn't a better power choice at that particular level.
Secondly, I've used it as a s/l set bonus mule, when I couldn't find a better spot for set bonuses. Thirdly, for a small group I had regularly teamed with I played the pseudo tank and it came in handy on more then one occasion. It also comes in handy for runners.

Took it once as a set mule for my db/elec, turned out to be useful getting the occasional runner to come back into lightning field.

Confront is excellent, I always take it. It takes great sets, it has many uses on various task forces, and it lets you not exactly exceed the aggro cap but keep more spawns interested in you than would otherwise be possible. Anyone who has never taken it should try it out at least once.
I've taken it specifically for Incarnate Trials. More specifically in scenarios like the BAF, I get impatient waiting for a Tank to gather up the gumption to go grab Nightstar/Siege; and stabbing them in the face is generally not enough to keep aggro when someone else thinks they can start shooting at them before they make it to the designated spot.

Excellent point about trials. For those who lack confront, how do you help spread the aggro on BAF? How do you pull Antimatter to the terminals? How do you help with stragglers near terminals on TPN? Gah, just thinking about confront's many uses makes me want to play a scrapper right now.
The only time I bothered grabbing confront was for zone pvp. The -range is useful and the annoyance factor was fun. Now that pvp is in the gutter I always skip it. I don't try to tank with scrappers, but since they can be built tank like I can see how it would be useful for some people.
I've never taken it on scrappers, sometimes on brutes, always on tanks.

All of my approx 8+ Scrappers have Confront. I can build Scrappers for ST, AoE DPS plus survivability and they still can afford to take it.
I will then be able to PvP team if ever, tank the STF for people if ever, tank whatever from lvl 12 upwards and between then just generally make saves, saving people from that one last crucial hit or hold that can effectively remove someone essential to the team.
The Antimatter to the terminals bit, yep my first one of him I did that for people whilst nobody else figured out what the hell they were supposed to be doing.
I can always say to knee wobbly tanks "If you don't tank it, I will"
Also as a result of me, a few people I know have Confront on their Scrappers. People believe such things as "its the toggles that are end heavy" and such tripe, sooner or later you get someone who knows what they doing to convert them on it.

I took it on my fire/fire scrapper, because the set otherwise holds aggro as well as rain of fire does vs siphon speed'd tsoo.

I've had about 25 or 30 scrappers over the years I've played. I took confront once just to try it out. I quickly realized it was useless though, since I could just as quickly get something's attention by smacking it around, and I haven't touched it since.
Took it on my DB/WP Scrapper. Loved it for taunting AVs and just for DB having a nice confront animation.

I initially took it for the set bonuses on my current build, but I have found that it's very useful for me. I typically find myself in an off-tank role on teams since I'm a Sword/Invuln/Leviathan and have stupid amounts of survivability. Invincibility + AoE damage handles most taunting, but every now and then something decides to ignore me and head after the squishies. That's when I bust out Confront.

After the argument I got into in another thread about it, I actually added it to my end-game build for my Claws/SR scrapper as my lvl 50 power. I'm two-slotting it for Max End bonus. That's really the only reason I took it, up until now I've never had any issues pulling aggro, but if several of you are claiming I'm going to need it in iTrials, then I might as well.
Never took it. There was always something else I wanted more. Sure, it takes decent sets, but that requires slot investment that I could spend on powers that I want slots in more. If that means I can't hold aggro because it would be my only source of taunt magnitude, I don't worry about that, because I don't consider that my Scrapper's job, especially not in a mass of 20-odd other people like an iTrial, where a Brute or Tanker is likely present. A Brute or Tanker gets much more bang out of slotting Taunt because it's applicable to more than just single targets. I let them focus on that, I focus on dealing damage and surviving.
Hell, the folks I play with don't especially value direct aggro control at all. We frequently substitute crowd control (mezzes) or outright raw survival (buffs) and don't worry about whether there's someone with a taunt. On occasion that means something runs around. We still melt it.

No, never, not once. I have taken Provoke on a scrapper w/ a damage aura before...worked out ok.
Never bothered. There's always something I want more.

If I felt like it I guess I could dig through posted builds and see who has it. Thought I would just ask instead. Do you take confront on your scrappers?
My own answer is no. I never take it, it is that one power I can skip that makes me feel better about the fact that I have to take Boxing or Kick to get tough.
How about you, do you take confront, or skip it?
