Confront, do you take it?

No power should be needed. No AT should be needed. Correct?

Confront allows me as a player to confirm that other ATs aren't needed.

Scrappers can probably get their first all Scrapper MoSTF with my Scrapper tanking all the AVs for them. No one has to be defeated. No one has to turn their character into a medic or replace any of that bleep. You don't therefore need any defender, tanker, mastermind, corrupter, dominator, controller, I am just going to list everyother AT. That's how far no other AT is needed. The game was based around SOs, so looking at what anyone does with an incarnate build or fully IO setted build, somethings that most players may not unthinkably even have still is not something I would do.

If your main criterion for power usefulness is whether it's completely indispensable then confront may not measure up, but there are so many ways to use it to good effect to make life a little bit easier for everyone.
Oh. Well, all I have run is pick up TFs. I've "tanked" in a few of those. Never had issues before holding aggro, but I'm taking the approach of trying it and see if I ever use it. In any case, I can use the extra End, and didn't need any other powers there anyway.

You're in melee, the team around you have just taken PBAoE damage, one more PBAoE damage and they could go down, hell if one of them and this could happen builds more threat than you in a moment they could go down. Are they a keystone after which more team members follow? Sometimes the support isn't there to get people back to full between PBAoEs, why should it be? No AT is needed. You can drop back and maintain highest threat until peoples healthbars are looking peachy again. I would sacrifice my own DPS if it means that the teams DPS greater DPS is going to be sustained.

I've taken it on second builds that were built for a specific purpose, but I generally skip it.

My BS/DA scrapper doesn't take much damage from the autohit nictus on an ITF, so I like to have a second build handy in case the main tank is a defense based set like SR or Shield, so I can pull the autohit away while Romulus is being tanked.

None of my scrappers have it on their main build, but at least 2 that I can recall offhand have it on their second build.

I may look into it as a set mule on one of them at some point if I'm having trouble getting enough S/L defense bonuses. Maybe on a Willpower scrapper or something.

I don't really have anything against Confront, but 99% of the time there is something I can take that is more useful to my playstyle.

For Scraps this is pretty nice, if I have space after Provoke, then I go with Confront, but provoke is nice enough to pull things and semi Tank or fully Tank when there isn't one, and it makes brutes work harder.

This sums it up quite well.

Took katana version once to get mobs out of squishies in teaming. All it did ever to me is costing two respec (one to put it one to put out) on same toon. Never bothered with it again. I already have boxing on my toon as a stupid place filler I don't need a second one.

had it in the past for two reasons

1) for Old style Hami-tanking

2) on much older PVP builds

Zero scrappers of mine have it currently.

I have Confront in the Level 49 slot on my MA/SR. It's what allowed me to twice in one mothership raid on separate occasions hold the aggro of FIVE RIKTI MAGUS on myself for *minutes* at a time while waiting for the Cavalry to arrive and deliver enough DPS to beat down all the Rikti Magus I'd gotten clustered up on me (thus sparing everyone down in The Pit the stacked mez that would have been thrown their way).

The second time the Cavalry arrived and found me alive (and kicking!) under a dogpile of Five Rikti Magus who couldn't take me down, someone asked on broadcast "Damn, Red! Where the hell do you FIND all these?!?"

To which, my (utterly predictable) response ... "Rikti Magus are my natural prey ..."

After that, I had a bit of a "reputation" for a while on mothership raids on Virtue ...

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

I've only had it on my legacy Hami tanking /Regen build. Never since. Far more common on my Brute builds though.

I haven't taken it, but I'm not opposed to it if I don't need anything more/need a set mule.

I've done this on my scrapper during an Underground when people couldn't understand the concept of "PULL THE PANCAKING WARWALKER!".

Also, I took it on my Titan Weapons character beacause c'mon, the taunt, is hiliariously badass.

Same with Staff.
