We've seen him already, of course, in numerous set pics. I dislike the mask, but the only thing it would take to make me not dislike it is to attach red lenses.

Who rules Bartertown?

Bane!

Ya know... I really hated the mask at first... but now that I think about it...

There are several places on the mask that look like plugs and it got me thinking... Maybe this mask also serves a purpose. Perhaps there are tubes he can plug into the mask to get a dose of that 'medicine' he loves to much. In that case, I can totally excuse the displeasing aesthetics if it's for functionality's sake.

What's up with them choosing terrible shots to show off comic book characters on magazine covers these days?

I can see them doing that vs. having a tube plugged into the back of his brain to inject the venom.

Looks like ***. This movie continues to take hits left and right for me.

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

... Hit it ...

It could be worse, ie: Elektra, Catwoman, Daredevil, Van Damme Street Fighter, first live action Guyver,.....

While I am not a fan of his mask in the film.. I have to agree with their move to change it from the comics since he's just wearing a seamless Luchador mask in the comicbook. God knows that would be very hard to pull off to the degree he doesn't look downright silly running around in a cheap wrestling mask.

He still looks silly of course, like a weird Zoidburg mouth silly..but I guess they thought it looked better then a spandex/cloth lucha mask.

The photo's really don't do justice to Hardy in the costume. But I'm at a loss for what else I can say for another 9 months. Gaaaaaah.

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.

good luck D.B.B.

Clearly he's spent time in the OTHER Arkham Asylum. The Arkham Asylum for the Incurably Insane, attached to the Miscatonic University Medical School.

Beyond that, he comes off as an ugly hairless white guy in an ugly mask. Not the result of a corrupt Latin American nation's super soldier program with underfunded safety protocols.

Oh wait! I found him!

New Dark Knight Rises info at newsarama.com. The movie takes place 8 years after Dark Knight and the mask is actually a respirator that Bane needs to use in order to get Venom into his body. Without it he would be in constant pain, unable to survive it

Must admit the mask doesn't look half as bad when it's shown in an actual scene.

I had qualms about Batman Begins.. Then I saw it and was very impressed with Christopher Nolan and his ability to make a really solid Batman movie.

I had qualms about The Dark Knight, then I saw it and was very impressed with Nolan's understanding and grasp of all things batman while coming up with his own story and making an incredibly entertaining film that hit all the right notes of the first and making it so much bigger.

So for DKR, I say, In Nolan I trust. I have qualms about the look of Bane, I'm unsure how Catwoman is going to fit in it and Hatheway in the role, but in Nolan I trust.

I really liked inception too, and frankly, I'll see anything Nolan does at this point up until he starts missing.

I've liked Nolan's work ever since Memento, hell even since Following. His only wobble has been Insomnia so far and even that wasn't bad. So I trust him to deliver a solid, if not awesome movie.

The second picture is better and although I'm still not keen on the look, I think once moving, it'll look just fine.
