Let's just say the song 'Columbus didn't find America' by Show of Hands is appropriate and leave it at that...

Dogs tend to fight human-sized critters by biting a limb and hanging on. The CoH engine doesn't support that very well.

I think it could work. We have plenty of melee powersets as is. And animals would largely be melee. Also, I can think of an example from a different game that made it work - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The main character, Link, spends half that game as a wolf and has various jumping and biting attacks that he uses to fight enemies in that form. Obviously the game engine is completely different, but I think CoH is capable of doing something similar.

The only issue I could see the game engine having is physical size of some enemies. You wouldn't want the animal suddenly growing larger when he attacks a large enemy, for example, just so that the attack aligns correctly. I see that happen all the time with immobilize and hold powers on giant monsters in CoH.

It wouldn't work at all except as fly-by chomping.

Or, it would work as horribly as the Watcher's bite attack where they chomp their teeth somewhat nearish to you and that's supposed to be a bite.

Combat models have an invisible box of exclusion that keep other critters from actually touching them (except for odd cases where the collision protector isn't working). That's why we can't have 'throw opponent' attacks.

If you ever want to see that box, use Reveal next to the incarnate vendors in Ouroboros.

Upon reading this screed of yours, I could make several most pithy replies - but will refrain since my thoughts are against forum rules. I'll just say this though: every time you post, I display the Malleus badge on yet another alt.

This was the first thing I thought about when I saw the toon in the pilgrim hat. Although I did not think about the Dual Pistols powerset.

Problem with a cat pet is that it would only follow you when you had become exhausted of trying to coax it to follow you, had given up, moved off to do something else, got quite involved in doing that something else, and were in such a position that it could maximally disrupt you by showing up at that particular time with a blood curdling MMEEEOOOWWWW! from out of your eyeline.

Yup, I have a cat.

Hee hee I have 4, and 2 dogs, but for some reason (maybe cuz they grew up around themselves) the cats take on dog charastics, (they come when called and they are cuddliers), although the cats are very vocal if you're not paying attention to them and you walk by them without petting them they will MEOW!!! Although the one will actaully have a conversation with you, it's quite cute, you say meow she says meow back and so on and so on.

Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Christmas is largely a bloody annoyance. Of course, that annoyance mostly occurs on the days leading up to it.

only drunks liked Christmas until a group of merchants got together with the idea of getting people to dedicate a holiday to consumption. They did large promotions aimed at getting people to spend lots of money at Christmas. This was a big success.

Christmas has not been a religious holiday since the Romans had Saturnalia. The important Christian holiday was always Easter.

So based on the general vibe of some of the Pilgrim comments...everyone going with this theme is making their toon a villain?

Vigilante status will be more than sufficient for dispensing the justice of an angry God without the impediments of modern society's frail laws and permissive attitudes towards immorality. Beware, sinners: "The glittering sword is whet, and held over them, and the pit hath opened her mouth under them."

Besides, the Rogue Isles offers that much more opportunity for demon-cleansing.
