Edit time:

Hey all N/A players...Above link is a competition your able to have a go at

Rest of the world:

No dice....

Seriously NcSoft can you stop doing N/A only comps. I know there's limits to what you can and cannot do that's kinda out of your powers, but the fact that most if not every big competition i've seen it's been n/a only (including Canada).

Surely if your gonna do a competition you can include the rest of the world still through other possible means..especially now as we've gone F2P and attracting new..curious blood (blood=players..yer ).

I'm not the only one either moaning about this, there has been plenty of people on facebook and on other sites that raise this issue..in this situation, for this competition (MMORPG.com) has said on their facebook status: " Sorry <insert name>, but we have to do as the companies co-hosting request mate"

and sadly this does come back to the age old topic of N/a v EU/rest of the world
I wouldn't mind as much if the competitions were different only if the rest of us was included.

An EU player who would like a chance to enter a competition for once.

To let non NAers enter would mean looking up every country and regions specific contest rules then following them to the letter. It is far easier to just restrict to easy to comply to rules i.e. NA only.

Sorry you get left out.

EDIT: just checked out the contest itself. Grand Prize= FLOWN to Paragon Studios HQ. Of course they're not going to do international flights that's just absurd.

Except its not even an American company and has offices in Korea, Japan and England. If its capable of running competitions in America in can run them in Europe.

They should also avoid any competition that requires you be a member of BookFace.

Technically, can Bald players enter? If you can't have a haircut, then you can't claim the prize.

Why? I mean like it or not (and i'm "meh" about it) facebook is the world's biggest and most popular social platform. If I had just made an epic MMO free to play, that's sure as hell where I'd want to advertise.

Newsflash: "Europe" is actually made up of many different countries, all of which have their own varying and different laws regarding the giving away of prizes. Some of these laws are far more restrictive than others.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Really? OMFGosh!

You might have a point if City of Heroes had never run competitions in Europe.

Oh, you mean like you have different laws between the States of the US and... oh wait... Canada. Is that in the USA? No I don't think it is.

That's why we have a European Union where laws are largely homogenised to make things like this similar.

Your argument fails on many levels.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Canada is part of North America is it not? Why the rules have to explicitly put "including Canada" is odd to me, might as well just say "This offer is only valid in The United States and Canada." since I highly doubt they're including Mexico in this.

haha Possi tweeted xD

This wasn't meant to poke at any specific person, But as a whole; im sure if the time is taken to look thru the rules of (even the main countries, to start of with) there can be some comps that be held for everyone..Ofc i don't expect all to flow freely thru-out the world..i mean we dont even have world peace yet. (buut thats awhole another level of insane stuff) hehe.

As we do have people coming in and people staying (still) it does help to let people feel like their apart of the game outside as well as inside.
Im sure (in time) there could be say a meeting set up where the right kind of people (devs, lawyers, marketers, dinner ladies whoever lol) can sit and talk about what exactly X country can do and what X country cannot do, so ideas for comps can be "well this type of comp can easily be done for n/a /france/ germany/ norway/uk but this clearly is n/a only due to X reason."

or even...make the reasons known why you can only have comps in n/a for those who ask.. like you said posi (mention you purely cos u've just tweeted ) you dont have control and i bet dont really know the fine details, but maybe thats where a lawyer could just say basics like..this comp involves some sort of money purchase and due to x law its new york only etc

Pretty much this; you even have to fly in a cheap seat!

Maybe Posi should fly over to Europe and give everybody a haircut to make up for this outrage?

(Is this an outrage, or just a slap in the face? I can never tell)

Easier I think just to run multiple competitions.

Probably. I wonder though how large a team NCSoft or PS are able to dedicate to this.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

And from past experience, "including Canada" really means "including Canada but not the province of Quebec, where the laws are much more stricts when it comes to contests"

Since I live in Quebec, I've come to greet every and all NCSoft's contests with an apathetic "meh"...

The contest and rules itself are all determined by the fine folks at MMORPG.com. In this particular case we have no control over what countries they make this contest eligible for.

We will, when possible, endeavour to make contests we host open to as many members of Community as we can.

MMORPG's rules don't single out Quebec in this case. AFAICT, you're not excluded.
