I do enjoy the freedom that CoH allows in comparison to other MMORPG's.
Especially when it comes to the grind, there's no sense of utter urgency in that you HAVE to be max level yesterday, it allows you to chose your own pace and accomodates for all, from the level 1-50 in 10 hours types to the level 1 to not quite the top of the 40's in a month casuals.
Yet another reason why I am so happy to have found CoH. The only other game I play now is one I hold an official position on, so it's become more an obligation than anything.
CoH is my mistress when it comes to gaming.
Thank you, Paragon Studios, for training my mistress well -
Hello, I was told by several people that you can change the colour of the Vampire face's eyes, however I can't find anywhere on the creator to do this. Changing the face colour has no affect for me at all, and there's no secondary colour to change.
So, is it possible to change the vampire eye colour/glow/etc without losing my bats aura, and if so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance -

Might I ask what are the judging categories? Such as: Costume, powers, showmanship, attitude, back story quality, etc.

Quote:So I couldn't use Hide? (I main a Stalker)There is no stat adjustment whatsoever. In fact, it can actually be seen as a debuff, as all of these powers prevent you from using self-stealth powers, such as Shadow Fall or Mask Presence.
Stealth effects from a Stealth IO still seem to work. I think group stealth effects will still work on you too, such as somebody else's Shadow Fall.
The ToT temp costumes allowed me to stealth -
i am sort of in between the two views on this.
I do feel it's a little annoying, because when I make a new character or costume i like to start with a "blank canvass" I guess you could say, however I like that I can view some of the costume pieces I never have looked at before. For example I wouldn't have ever looked at the vanguard costume pieces without it randomly popping up, and it turns out I really rather like them -
Quote:On almost all the trick or treat costumes I have used my Stalker's sword (ninja blade/ninjutsu) goes invisible, kind of annoying considering every move involves attacking with the blade, so it looks like I'm bashing them with some imaginary stickI turned on a Hellion ToT costume that dropped on my Beam Rifle Blaster. The rifle was invisible, even when firing, while that costume was running.
Now I customized the color and took a different model Beam Rifle than the default, so that may come into play. Perhaps only certain weapons are affected.
Since I had HUGE problems with the Inviso Bug of 2006-2007 (which turned all enemies invisible), this is an interesting glitch, not something than renders game play EXTREMELY challenging.
I also tried setting it to the default sword, still was invisible -
Is there any advantage, like a stat modifier, or are these costumes all purely visual?
If purely visual, it's definitely not worth 480 points, in my personal opinion -
In the end, how I see things is that it's an MMORPG.
That's massively multi-player online role playing game. If you could solo your way through the entire thing, why not just play a console game?
Though I will agree, having less of a pure focus on huge multi-player interaction and more paths the soloer can take would be nice. (especially for those times when you can't for whatever reason find a party to do something worthwhile) -
As a Relatively new player as well as a VIP (only been around a little over a month) I can say I've very happy with what I'm getting for my money.
Dedicated access to an exclusive server.
Priority customer services assistance. (I assume, unless nc soft are just epic at dealing with petitions)
All the stuff I get that free/premium players have to pay for. (sig arcs, power sets, costumes, incarnate system that I have yet to experience, etc)
Minimum of 12 character slots on all servers, that's 10 more than the base 2 for free players.
PLUS 400 points I can spend on whatever I like each month too.
Sure there are a few bits and pieces that make me buy more points, but I don't mindA one time purchase for a permanent change across my whole account is amazingly generous, especially in comparison to what other companies offer from their game cash shops.
All in all, I definitely don't regret being a VIP in any way. I tried a free to play account and just didn't like it. Far too restrictive for my tastes -
That's cool
Are there many more of these little places scattered around the game? It does sort of suck you can only enter a majority of buildings of you have a mission directing you to them

Quote:That's the one :d Might have been just Nimoy, but it was released on an album with both him and Shatner on it, I believeThis is so bad it's good. And while Shatner's music career is traditionally mocked, I have to note that I was surprised to find his album Has Been to be pretty decent.
The only Nimoy LotR song I've heard is The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, and I don't recall it having Shatner in it. -
To get that particular badge you need to kill 99 zombies from the graveyard as well as the aV within 12 minutes.
How I accomplished this the first time was having one tanker doing his thing while me and two others ran laps around the area pew pewing zombies as they appeared. Given that the zombies seem very generous with small green inpirations our tank had no issue keeping the abomination busy.
In the end we killed the zombies and abomination with 3 and a half minutes to spare
But yeah, I hate people like that. I don't have a problem with someone taking charge (assuming they do in fact know what they are doing) but when they are total pricks about things it's not cool -
Asia hosts possibly thousands of MMORPG's that few people outside Asia will even know exists. I am quite a fan of Anime styled MMORPG's
Edit: Though it's also because many of them require a valid Chinese or other asian Social Security Number, luckily I have a chinese friend who has 0 interest in online gaming that allows me use of theirs -
haha, this is just... lol.
One song of his I love I can't quite remember the name of, however he sang it with Leonard Nemoy and it was lord of the rings based.
If anyone knows the name of the song and can tell me, I'll ♥ you -
As a new player myself, I adore this game's in game community, as well as the forums (though there a few people I can pick out already who just seem... not very nice)
For the most part, this game's community is brilliant, definitely one of the friendliest I have ever been a part of (of several hundred MMORPG's I have played)
However, when a game implements free to play functionality, it also opens it's doors to the "internets", where trolls fester. Some of those dwellers of the dark parts of the net will naturally come here and attempt to stir things up. In my opinion, however, CoH is largely unaffected by this -
So, I was thinking. One thing CoH lacks "class" wise, is a melee supporter class (many MMO's have them in the form of monks, druids, templars, etc etc).
However, given how strong some support abilities are, would a melee/support AT be just too over powered? (Imagine a dark melee/radation emission character)
This is purely hypothetical of course but I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on advantages/disadvantages/problems/etc with a melee/support AT -
With the sheer popularity of this thread, this should be implemented immediately! >.>

I will admit, I am guilty of DFB leveling to about 39 or so, so I was (and still am, but I'm learning D: ) very noobish.
Having made several other characters and actually run through the content within the game now, I'm much more knowledgeable (though there still are aspects of the game that are a mystery to me).
I would propose that, unless you have one or more characters at 50, the trial offers diminishing returns. -
It doesn't particularly both me, it's just one click.
I will say though, it does seem amazingly pointless having to accept each and every time, unless something changes in the terms every time I log in.
I feel it should only require re-acceptance when the terms themselves actually change -
Quote:Gravity/rad controller Would go with the black hole themeEnter Lighteater, a being powered by the crushing gravity of black holes. I haven't done much fiction for Lighteated because I didn't have a costume or the inclination to bother, but this gives me an idea.
Suppose for a moment that there's something unusual inside the glass case, but it's not a miniature city. It is, instead, a gravitational singularity which powers the automaton. This singularity is contained the tank and recharged from the intense gravity near the event horizon of a genuine black hole. This is both the automaton's power source, and its primary tool. By channelling the singularity's enormous force, this automaton could bend space, granting it the ability of instant travel.
That's definitely enough of an "out there" concept to run with for the empty jarhead. It's strong enough on its own even without the jar (I could fake that with helmets), so it's definitely a go. I'm not sure if I want this to be a male or a female character, but I'll have to see how that goes. Now I just need a costume and powers for it -
*patiently waiting for paypal to load up to BUY MOAR POINTS*
Only two things I can say to critique this costume set (aside from the acknowledged bugs)
1. Please give us a just plain "headless2 option for the jar, no glass, no nothing.
2. Please make an animated serpent hair style, I'd pay 400 points just for that alone. -
Sentient ecoplasm/wisp/spirit within the jar (which you could achieve by using a head/eyes only aura) that requires the jar to contain it and connect it to an early body to be able to use it's powers

Quote:I've sort of avoided doing thatI can't speak for everybody, but every Keyes/Underground I've joined, the leader has asked if anyone is new to the trial and given a basic rundown if someone said they were. I see it less with BAF and Lambda, but they're less complicated. (I don't think Underground is that complicated, with the possible exception of the final AV, but it's also relatively new.)
And when I was new to the trials, I learned to make a point of asking, "I've never done this trial before, so if there's anything I need to know, please tell me." People were more than happy to give me pointers.I said I had never done a mother ship raid before a week ago and immediately was removed from the league
