Paragon Market prices

It appears that the Market has gone live with the same prices as it had in Beta, although I have only had five minutes to look.. Has anyone noticed any prices being changed (lowered)? There were quite a number of items that were ridiculously overpriced in Beta, like the dual/team insps and the windfall/XP boost consumables.

Not trying to start a complaint thread, but I do think that feedback is important. I want to give you my dollars, but I don't want to feel like a mark or a sucker by paying outlandish prices for things that last two minutes to an hour. Other stuff, like powersets and costume bits, seem right on the money.

There should have been some significant price changes...maybe not to the *specific* items you were looking at, however check items such as some of the costume pieces and the Enhancement Boosters.

I'll do that as soon as I can log in again. Damn this gainful employment!

Are there plans to continue monitoring prices? I'm rather surprised that costume parts were reduced, as they seemed OK to me. Enhancement Boosters were definitely in need of a reduction, so that's a good thing.

Agreed, and that is why I will be skipping them for now. I had intended to purchase one more tray, that will not be the case now.

They're a little on the steep side, but remember it's a global unlock for the entire account (same as costume slots, vault increases, recipie increases, and salvage increases). I think they could stand to be maybe 400 points cheaper (or maybe a bundle that let's you buy both for like 2400-2800 points) but considering they're not really *needed* but are more of a very nice quality of life thing (along with the afformentioned other global upgrades) it's not TOO bad.

$20 for 10 slots. Did they raise the price on this? I thought it was $10 for 10 slots in beta. I was planning to buy this, but I won't pay that price.

Shadowy Presence was 200 on Beta, and is now 60. That's still 60 too many, but it's come down.

That's the only one I noticed, but I otherwise only really looked at the ones I was going to buy.

The storage prices are way too high...
1600 points for 10 enhancements.
800 per salvage/ah/recepie upgrade...
800 for a costume slot...

Just... too high, noone will buy those... noone with any sense anyway.

Also, powersets should be free to VIPs, shouldn't have to pay 800 for new sets imo.

Didn't all the travel powers except for rocket board come down? I thought they were all the same price in beta. Though I could be wrong, I didn't play much on the beta server for the last couple weeks.

Look same to me.

Shadowy Prescence isn't a travel power tho, quite the opposite. Requires you to stand still to work.

The market interface is not conductive to making pricing notes.

Yikes. I thought it was $10 each too. $40 to max out my enhancement inventory? I could almost buy a new game for that.

This was going to be the first thing I bought when the store went live. I guess I don't need extra enhancement slots that badly.

Yea I know. I have it and I don't think I've ever used it beyond the one time just to see what it looks like.

I'm just saying I thought the pricing on ninja run and the like was also 600 points. But as I said, I could be entirely wrong on that as the last time I checked was several weeks ago and even then it was a cursory glance.

I know its been said in a million threads before, but you do realize that its the entire point of our "free" 400 point a month allotment right?

The devs had basically two choices when they concocted Freedom in their minds

1) Release powersets and some costumes free as always. VIP's their monthly fees and can buy points like everyone else. All VIP's get all powersets, but in this reality there would have been no 400 pt/mo. allotment ever mentioned.

2) Instead, release powersets and costumes for points, but give VIP's 400 pt/mo allotment. VIP's can now choose to take the powersets as per #1 OR buy something else instead if they have no intention of using the sets.

I don't see why #2 isn't better, especially for people like me who have used less than a dozen power sets and only four archetypes. Now instead of getting more sets and costumes every few months that I'll never use, I can instead get ... well, stuff I will use.

In the end its probably better if you imagine a years worth of content instead of a single month. You get 4800 points per year to design your own expansions ala carte style, instead of having to take the expansions the devs design every few months.

TLDR Version: If you got all powersets free, you probably wouldn't get any free points per month.

Heh, while I won't pay a cent for costume slots (never used more than two) I am sure gonna buy into the enhancement trays, recipe storage, salvage storage and market slots.

While I think a (effective) $10 price tag is a bit much, there is nothing out of line with PS selling power sets. We have gotten some new sets for free, yes, but many were sold as part of CoV or GR. The company has to make money on this so they have to make judgements as to how much new stuff they can give away as part of an "issue" and how much has to have a separate price.

I agree with you on all of the above... but I had to get the costume slots. *sighs*

Agreed as well. I was planning on buying at least one tray maybe two for my marketing characters but this seems too high for 10 extra slots.

The extra 10 slots open up on all your characters.

When ever I get around to buying the 10 extra slots I'll be able to store an extra 480 enhancements on Virtue.

That's awesome and really makes me believe that the devs are willing to bring prices in line with where we players think they should be.

Almost every costume piece has the same price it had in mid-August.

A couple "undesirable" powers were reduced:
Shadowy Presence 200->60
Self Destruct 400->200
GvE Jumpack Jetpack 200->100

Secondary Mutation was INCREASED from 400 to 500.

Enhancement Boosters are down per unit, but increased in purchase price.

Enhancement unslotters are slightly reduced.

Might not be a bad idea to wait for a sale on the various inventory expansions.
