Reward Points Problem

Right. So, there goes any reasonable hope in hell I have of getting the three Celestial rewards before they 'rotate' out.

I get that there are technical problems. Nothing can be done about that, and I'm not stupid/immature enough to rant about stuff that is out of the Devs hands.

HOWEVER;

Celestial being locked away behind Tier 9 AND a time limit is just...well, the words I would pick would be censored anyway.

So, we can be about 99.9% sure those parts won't be available on the Market. Why?
I've seen them trumpeted about and even commented on in the Art threads (sorry David) as 'Hey, we do have energy wings!' 'Hey, we do have some cool looking glowy/medieval armour!'
All I have to do is buy the pack-

How's about I get to CHOOSE (the whole damn tagline of Freedom) that stuff? Heck, I'll even give back the damn Greek letters I never, ever use or the Prestige Sprints which I've never claimed after the one time I did and realised what a total bloody mess it made of my mains powers window/enhancement window.

I was gonna be willing to pay for that stuff, and now I can't even have the humorous 'Shut up and take my damn money' image. Because I can't get that stuff. It's even worse than the damn 'Oh, you can't have that until 50, because it would be a disservice to the art team' Ascension armour and it's stupid merits costs, because that's just time and boredom gated. It won't go POOF! in some arbitrary length of time, like the Celestial stuff will!

Feh...that DID end up a rant. Oh well.
Colour me very damn annoyed. Not a feeling one usually associates with not-giving other people money...

I'm at the end/near end of tier 7.
So, that's an entire tier and then 3 more for all the Celestial stuff. I don't know how much that would work out to...

well, my best guess is that the use of the term "rotate" means that if they are gone, they will be back. I find it even more likely that they will bring them back given the unplanned nature of this problem, they know people want them, they know they cant get them, so they will likely rotate them back quickly for those affected. might not hurt to remind them once the problem is fixed.

Those "some extra" points would be a lot.

While the announcement is somewhat disappointing (especially if you are someone who was fully planning to grab a new longterm subscription in order to get into Tier 9 ASAP, such as TechBot), and I'm sure the Team is disappointed as well... It's still, pretty much, the same disappointing place that it was before we thought we could get there through prepaid subscription.

I can't even think about that Celestial Armor stuff, because it is over a year away from my grasp and I'm not into dwelling on such a thing.
I think it stinks that 1) such a fancy set is that far off and 2) that they plan on rotating these things in and out and... quite honestly, the ability to get enough tokens in advance never removed my negative assessment of that entire plan.

I'll live. I've not really posted much about my disappointment of that... I just don't agree with it (for whatever tiny, measly amount of significance that has to do with the big picture!).

I give a thumbs down to the entire scenario.

I too would like a comment on this. While I am willing to pay the money to advance into tier 9 (only $30 for me) some of my persistent teammates will not be able to. It is a simple question. How will a player obtain these once they rotate out? Store purchase, wait, or not at all?

I also dislike that all three are part of one costume set, so a player could potentially get some but not all of the set.

... I do imagine that this isn't going to go over very well at all once people start noticing this. One hopes they overcome the difficulty and make it so. (They probably won't. Shiny Penny Syndrome. Why fix broken stuff when you can make something new instead? *sighs*)

Firstly,

I am sorry to have been the one to disappoint you Techbot. I know that you've been looking forward to this particular aspect, as have many players. When I got the news on Friday, my heart sank a little bit .

Silver lining: The costume parts will be available for a decent amount of time before they rotate out. We will be certain to give heads up before we rotate Tier 9 VIP Rewards out for new ones so that players have the opportunity to make any appropriate purchases to reach tier 9, if they so choose to.

buying the 8000 point pack ($100) it gives you 8 reward tokens

iirc i think to completely fill tier 7 or 8 it required about 8 tokens

so if you were right about where you were starting tier 8, then you would need about 10 tokens or so which is around $130-145 just to buy it outright

We were informed that we would see the benefits of our VIP status up front if we paid forward. I subscribed for an additional year specifically so I could get the benefits of a maxed out PR tree. And now you tell us we will not get this. Since I wanted the Celestial stuff, I, like others in this thread, will never see it now, as I will have to wait a year to get my tokens to fill the tree, instead of up front.

Glad I read this post before tomorrow. 12-months was going to be my first purchase, but that's changed now.

I feel for your disappointment, but thanks for the heads up.

I certainly does suck when tech issues get in the way of getting what you want, like Tokens or even logging into the game due to unfortunate server maintenance.

I use to pay in 12 month increments (6 months currently) but will be month-to-month now.

I advise you not to spend a bunch of money for points to get these rewards. They may go but they will come back. And if the game isn't around in a year for you to get this stuff, why bother anyway?

Here's a great solution!!

Make all current VIPs transfer over with enough Tokens to reach Tier 9!

Happiness abound!

There is no reason access to costume pieces should ever have a time-limited availability in this game.
